The story has the same vibes of Berseker. However, MC is not better than the characters that I aforemention before. The MC is a typical Japanese Beta man. He is transmigrated as an NTR villain who wanted to steal the hero's female harem.

Anyway, it is a common story, and not a big deal.

Edit:

... more>> I finally regret rating it 5 out of 5. It should be 2 out of 5

The MC is s*upid and I cannot stand his way of thinking. For example:

He declared he hated s*avery, but he bought a s*ave.

He doesnt want to meet up with the Hero, but he is willing to participate.

What a hypocrite.

Liam Banfield, Harold Stoke and Hermes Archnemesis are far better than this scumbag. What a beta. <<less

Okay, I give up, so let me write this review to vent my frustation on this one.

The story started in a good one. I was immediately hooked and raised my expectation high. Especially when the MC saves his classmate. I like kind, misunderstand MC despite how generic they are, and the same can be said to plot. But then it happened, a whole chunk of cliche full of cringey-ness was thrown immediately at me.

I don't hate cliche, at least most of them are bearable to me, what I hate is... more>> when the dialogue are also cliche, copy-pasted and most of all cringe. It was shit, like seriously. We have a hero here who is the typical naive justice loving one, and I say despite having different personality the MC is not far from that guy. His s*ave was the most cringe. The MC also "spout" lines about the game, yea spout, so I can't help to think of him as those "idiot-hero from other isekai stories that think the world as game". The one that made me dropped this immediately is when he lectured the heroine in front of a f*cking fight.

In short, it has a good plot full of cliche and cringey dialogues. An author wish fulfillment story. <<less

Started out pretty good, but fell off pretty fast.

Same old stuff, with the MC being afraid to change anything at all even though everything already has been changed. Reincarnated as a villain but instead of being himself, he always uses the past life as an excuse. Like bruv, you took over his body, why are you guilty about stuff that never even happened in the first place? Scared to do anything with the heroine because he is afraid to cuck the hero while the hero and heroine never met in... more>> the first place.

MC is one of the most hypocritical characters I have read, calling out other heroines about their s*upidity while never changes himself. He views the world as a game, constantly complaining about "oh no, the hero I know would never of done this" type bs. This is where I don't get, isnt the world an rpg where you control the character? How would you know what he would do when you are the one that has been in control of him the whole time. He treats everyone as an npc, consistently saying that this world is a game out loud.

Spoiler

Constantly complain about the hero being overpowered and stuff, but he has the same specs as him, along with all his past cheat items from his last 10 playthroughs of the game.

[collapse]

Overall, everything about the novel seems lacklustre, characters are dimensional, and author didn't take time to think about interactions. With every mob character calling the MC a loanshark gangster, degenerate, and saying how his a piece of sh*t in front of him, I don't understand whether or not are they even afraid of him. Plot could have potential if the author just spend some time thinking about its entirety. <<less

Can’t believe this novel has high rating.

MC is your typical masochist JP MC that always negative and keep call himself tr*sh for no reason. Everyone keep hating MC for no reason. Again I still couldn’t understand how this novel get such high rating. For me this is a one star for sure.

This has great potential but wastes it. For me, the biggest turn off is the protagonist's hypocrisy.

One chapter, he deeply talks about how the world isn't black and white, and that some elements of the world are grey. A few chapters later, he (once again) starts classifying the world as black and white - Leon is the 'hero', I am the 'villain', I shouldn't get into a relationship with these women because that would be cuckolding Leon (even though they are essentially strangers to Leon at that point), I should... more>> help Leon in various ways because he will defeat the Demon King, etc.

Keep in mind that Leon had been hostile to him multiple times until then, but he still loved Leon for being the 'hero' of the game and hated himself for being the 'villain' of the game.

That's where my criticism boils down to: he sees everything in the entire world as elements of the game. This is a scenario of the game, this information was never mentioned in the game, I love this person because he was a 'hero' in the game, I hate this person because he was a 'villain' in the game, these seem to be elements from a completely different game, etc.

It's like the three other 'heroes' in the Rising of the Shield Hero (Sword Hero, Bow Hero, Spear Hero). Just like they saw the entire world as nothing more than a game, this protagonist also sees the world as nothing more than a game. <<less

Very safe execution but enjoyable writing style.

Nice isekai/reincarnation story.

It is a actually a common story with some new situations. But I think it is enjoyable.

Hope the next chapters give something good......

I honestly lost count how many times he mentioned the game's name.

Anyway, the MC is in the body of a big evil, turns out the MC doesn't want to be a big bad villain so he goes the route of loner boy who magically sways everyone's opinion about him.

If that sounds generic, well.... there is a lot more. There is a school arc, auction arc, a nonsensical dungeon arc and even the trope of trying to fix it. When ever the plot is about to derail, the MC tries to... more>> put it back into place. It comes to a point that it is detrimental to his health as he accepts all the abuse given his way. Where teachers and students make fun of him...

Like if the MC had even a slither of backbone, at least stand up and set things straight instead of being passive in confrontations, I would've continued this read. However, the MC allows everyone and their dog to trample his image without a single word of retort from our MC.

He's a typical MC who accepts the abuse for the greater good. A typical beta who can't even break the mold that he has been forced into. And even that pales in comparison to the ridiculous pacing going on. Its only been 20 chapters and we have already sped through a lot of critical development.

While it was a generic premise, there was some potential for the story to be better. Ultimately, it failed to meaningfully expand on the world building, actual character development, and good storytelling. It's the culmination of a lazy writer who just wants nothing more to write girls as mere s*x objects while wanking his main character off.

Things that would've made this novel better:

They could've done much more with Zenon Baskerville's background and family. It could've easily be a great arc if they explored more about ... more>>
Spoiler

what the father was actually doing, fighting in the shadows.

[collapse]
Heck, you can possibly segue into potential conflict with other nobilities/factions.

In the end,
Spoiler

the father died without much fanfare, Zenon feels nothing about his family's true circumstances, and you get a dumb explanation on how the father did everything for the sake of the nation.

[collapse]

As for the heroines, after their introduction arc, they end up written as generic sex-crazed harem members. You just get enough details about their background and their "trauma" resulting from it, but after it gets resolved, all they want to do is f*ck Zenon. Literally. Every chapter afterwards is them trying to get into his pants, whether at night, in the bed, or in the bath.

The rivalry between Zenon and Leon, the actual protagonist of the game, could've been something, but in the end, it doesn't matter if Zenon just gets all the power ups. <<less

Very safe execution but enjoyable writing style.

Idk if it's a "softer" writing style but I found myself less upset revisiting common tropes and jokes with this novel. Nothing really happens but I thought it was alright.

Okay this will be a quick and easy review

This is just a common trope not really new, not really mind blowing just common since its still to early to be saying this but I will stand my point.

Spoiler

the story revolves around zenon which is our protagonist and his adventures to either break the plot of the mentioned game or fix it. In which when he was still a normal Japanese guy a famous game was destroyed by bad decisions mainly making the mentioned game sequel into a ntr game and the villian of this mentioned game is zenon its basically the plot of every reincarnated to something.

[collapse]

But it was fairly enjoyable but this trope is really common. But so far light novels and mangas I saw with this trope is really fun. And probably thats the same for you. This concludes my review Have a g'day my friends <<less

first thing first, the MC actually thinks.

he is jot dumb or clouded by dense protagonist aura rather he transmigration not as a 15 yrs old Japanese boy but a working adult who have experience life.

the plot sound straight forward but because of the "not a game plot" that make it more interesting, and it wasn't just any girl will spread open their legs for the MC.

he is handsome for a reason, and rich he is also strong, stronger than the current hero why would you think no one will openly... more>> spread her legs for that man?

anyway for short these one is a good stuff

This novel is a very cliched generic transmigrated into an overpowered villain novel.

In the first few chapters, the author says that Zenon trains with his sword everyday and that his hands is filled with "red blisters". Ok first, if he really trained everyday, then shouldn't his hands be filled with calluses instead?

Then there's also the combat scenes, the MC is literally spouting the cringe lines like "I already know all your weakness!" and proceeds to say every weakness the enemy has out loud. That is legit the s*upid. The MC... more>> is also worried about c*ckholding the original MC when the original MC hasn't even made a relationship with his girlfriends yet.

And also, look at this line "Jean looks at me hesitantly for a moment, alternating between my face and the potion, but soon puts the lives of his companions ahead of his own and proceeds to give them the potion." First off, this section is found at the start of chapter 15, and this Jean guy's life isn't even in danger. I feel like the author decided to just copy paste this section from some other novels and change the name of the characters a little.

And when the school sends the inexperienced new students down the dungeon, they didn't even prepare a guardian for them. What the heck is that? That's just plainly convenient for the author to make accidents happen.

The thing I hate the most in this novel is that the MC just kept on spouting cringe a*s bs out loud. He don't say them in his mind, but with his mouth. It's annoying af.

I do not recommend this novel because there are better ones out there to read, unless you've finished all the better ones and want some copy paste novel you can read without using your brain. <<less

Okay. I'll admit I'm new to this otome (or whatever it's called world) this only my second one. But I've read dozens and dozens of the harem genre and I love isekai. Soooo the plot is pretty new to me and I understand the MC is isekai'd in some mysterious way and is a serious otaku who loved this game. But I mean f*ck. You hear the games name every chapter 12 times. The MC is constantly contradicting himself saying he will be normal (his original self I suppose), do... more>> his best, or strong but will be weak willed and constantly revolving himself between his previous self or as this antagonist. He will strive to move forward and make proactive decisions then draw back. He will talk about the "protagonist" and making him as the savior the brave saying he will leave him alone or withdraw let him grow on his own then turn around and stick his nose into trying to persevere the game. Things are obviously different but he is surprised as everything proceeds as it has... it's not the same.
the MC has a self dialogue at least 3 times per chapter... out loud.. constantly heard by others... It's pretty annoying... if you're going to say things that others Probally shouldn't hear or is obviously "weird incoherent muttering" why would you constantly keep doing it. Also several times through the dialogue it'll switch between the incoherent muttering and an internal dialogue.
Also. When I see the words of the games name pop up I personally skip the whole paragraph.
the writing is interesting and so is the plot for me personally I enjoy it but for myself all to often there are annoying elements and I wanted to voice them. The MC could stay a Villain or a hero and I'd be interested I personally like some dark elements but tbh the MC is just faking and you Can't get a Grasp on his personality. It's like instead of him being absorbed in the character he interpreted with he is just a wishy washy character who doesn't know what he's doing at least to this part. I'm sure I could add more to this but if we're being honest here I'm more bad than good and I'm choosing to drop it because I don't see it turning my opinion around after close to 50 chapters. Thanks for the read.

oh! Last thing. Even early on he like first 5 chapters confirms that everything is certainly real with the feeling of PAIN but to this chapter he treats it 100% like a game or well. That this is all from a game and never regards it as this is real life. He doesn't outright say it isn't real life by any means but he is always referring to in terms of the game. And that's.. well honesty. Unfulfilling for me. It's the mc's life it should be stated as such I feel. Like hey. "I might be literally inside a plot from a video game but this is my life" <<less

The fact that this... hodgepodge of wacked book with plot that could fly from London to Taiwan in 3 minutes won an award portrayed the sorry state of Japanese Web Novel plot factory. Let's see what the hell is wrong with these kinds of novel for me:

1. The MC, is just plain dumb or insufferable hypocrite. Like damn bro THINK WITH YOUR HEAD, NOT YOUR PELVIS

2. The plot, because this kind of plot is actually nice and has a good potential to be explored further for a solid storyline but... more>> no. The author decides it's better to make the entire cast personality as thin as possible and throw away that good potential for a overused and bland trope speedrun

3. And the fact that it's a harem. I'm okay with harem as long as the harem has a fleshed out personality and background lore. Guess what? This author decided to go down the"Fúck it I'mma make a h**ny-ass b*tches as the harem and imagine I'm the MC because I'm a insufferable 30 years old virg*n with DePrEsSiOn" path, like.... no, just no

Thanks for reading this rant, and if you still wanna read this crack, proceed with your own risk <<less

Starts ok. MC then starts acting like a hero. Then it derails from the plot into a fan service novel. Then it turns into a generic harem novel. Not for me I guess. Nothing wrong with reading it but once the OG story heroines join the party, the atmosphere of the story drastically changes.

I think there's one big problem you need to get over to be able to read this story. The MC becomes so dumb when dealing with anything related to the origan*l game and it's hero. It's like anything inside the game is an unchangable fact for him. Yet, he admits multiple times that he lives in a real world, not a game AND that some things change because of it.

Do you see the contradiction yet?

It mainly happens when he talks about the hero and heroines, like „this/she belongs to the... more>> hero" or „I can't help her because I'm the villain not the hero", even though he has this dilema bacause he changed the plot in the first place.
Spoiler

Of course after a bunch of nonsens and hesitating he still changes the plot anyway.

[collapse]

Sadly author created for himself a great excuse to write this annoying BS.
Spoiler

At the point of story I am at, what we know is that Demon Lord will destroy the world and only the hero can stop him. While I assume it's possible for others too, it's not stated how nor does the MC seems to know it. So the excuse still stands to annoy me for a while... Hah...

[collapse]

Small correction one chapter later, but I don't want to change what I wrote before.
Spoiler

MC seems to go with assumption that he should get strong enough to stand a chance against the Demon Lord, but leaving it to the hero is still his main plan. Less annoying but still an excuse for MC to not do a lot of things. Anyway I hate leaving anything to others so it's still annoying.

[collapse]

I rant a lot but overall I enjoy it, just skipping some monologes I just hope I don't need to wait 200 chapters for the world to force the MC to stop caring about the hero. At least he does not doglick him, just kinda (?) ignores. <<less

Hello there,

this narrates of story of a person who transmigrated into a game he was familiar with as one of the villains of the story. The protagonist is not naive or inmature which is good a by character who plays the role of villain but he is also not entirely a good person.

The character of the main protagnist develops quite well and the story shows his struggles to growth into a better person. Sadly the focus on the main protagonist is quite had and the story basically neglects many... more>> characters who could also gain some development.

The story has a lot of action, harem, romance, magic and fantasy and I find the execution quite satisfactory. It is not a masterpiece by any measure but still quite enjoyable, therefore 4/5. <<less

How does this have an "award-winning" tag truly eludes me. To put it bluntly, this novel began as something which didn't know what it wanted to be, and by the time it found out, it turns out it decided to be a generic wish fulfilment harem, with your usual beta loser MC (which he is, no matter how much the author tries to portray him otherwise).

Don't take the description at face value. "A heroic tale of evil supremacy!" this is not, it's just the usual hero MC, which the author... more>> tries quite hard to make him an antihero, and fails spectacularly I might add, in the aforementioned generic harem story filled with the usual vibe and cliches this kind of story has. Nothing new or exiting about it.

The harem is boring and one dimensional, lacking any sort of endearing personality, nothing more than the usual tropes found everywhere else, but with a few minor quirks/changes to make it not seem like more of the same. The "cool" swords woman, the saint with a big "heart" cough cough, and a cute loli with a big mace. So nothing new here either.

The narative is basic, nothing new, nothing exiting, everything can be seen happening from a mile away, or, at the risk or repeating myself over and over again, it's boring and uninspiring. The story of the game the Isekai it's based on, and it's sequel for that matter, are also utterly atrocious, 1 is generic at and the sequel is...I mean, wth was even that. The setting for the sequel, and the person the MC turns out possessing, are so s*upid it makes shield hero look like a literary masterpiece.

The MC is, like I mentioned earlier, the basic jap MC. At this point I can only call this type of person "safe", because when a MC lacks defining personality traits, it makes it much easier for the delusional mind to portray itself over said MC, and taking this entire basic and cliched story as an illusion of grandeur and satisfy it's lonely sad excuse of an existence. So I guess if you are that kind of guy, you'll most like love it. (Don't get me wrong, not like a have anything against harems, I love myself a good one from time to time, but I utterly despise cheap ones with an undying passion. The reason being the cheap animalistic hope that makes them click. Some humans, sui bomb themselves believing Alah will grant them 72 virg*ns after end and we read and fantasize about being the protag of cheap Isekai harems with, well, not 72, but you get it, it's the same thing basically. But I digress. In the end, unfortunately, the bad ones make a majority of it's genre)

I could have mentioned it's potential, true, but a mere ideea o something it's just that, an ideea, it can't be called potential, even more so when that ideea is thrown away anyway at the first chance to get some ass cough cough. So, in the end, if you are not the kind of harem lover previously mentioned, I can only give this a 1/5. Just another one that exists, banking on the desperation and delusion of sad, lonely, unf*ked men, the author himself perhaps also included, to get unwarranted popularity. <<less
