This was different but very good. There is plenty of variation in arc concepts and the straight male protagonist pleasantly shocked me.

The MC is already pretty freaking smart and strong right off the bat but also gradually becomes even more OP as he continues to train, learn, and cultivate in different realms. Along the way he ends up having families and forming permanent bonds with a life system and a dragon. The arcs are set in ancient times, a beast world, modern times, a cultivating realm, a futuristic universe, and... more>> in an apocalypse. He has to complete tasks that can vary from taking down powerhouses and getting revenge to simply living a leisurely life.

I really LOVED the protagonist, he was a very rational character that was thoughtful and loyal.

Spoiler

As you can read from other comments, he has multiple lovers throughout the series and not a singular wifey that travels with him. This may not sit well with others- which I understand considering I loathe harem novels- but it is done well in this series. When he decides to be with a woman, he is solely devoted and sincere to her in that realm. He is NOT half-hearted and doesn't get with a woman because it could help with his mission or anything. MC always marries his lover because he does actually like and care for them; if he doesn't have anyone that he likes, he simply remains a bachelor for the rest of that life- which he has done a number of times. Also, after each life that he has a wife, he remains in his void a REALLY long time in order to fade away his emotional attachments- including his affections for his wife- to begin his new life where he may or may not marry again. He isn't like a lot of straight male protagonist that collect women like trophies, he is a good and faithful man that respects his wife (s) and daughters.

This is not a story about romance, and reading the description, you should know that! This is a story about XZF being the wronged Lead's fairy godmother. Don't complain because you were looking for a wife-s*ave book; what part of the description and tags made you think this is a wife-s*ave book! It's obviously a fairy godmother book!!

That aside, this is a very good snack story, as in the plot is satisfying and the lead turns into a winner. XZF doesn't struggle at all, at least in the first arc,... more>> because he's basically overqualified for his job haha. I really prefer this kind of story with no real struggles, other than the scum being in a hurry to snatch rope to hang themselves.

You probably won't get overly emotionally invested into any of the characters, including XZF as the MC, but watching the scum be outed as scum is still enjoyable! The prose is good and the translation is smooth! <<less

I like the concept, but the story is.... Hm. Rushed and slightly boring. There's too much telling and not showing. Too little dog food, too rough, it's overall not that cute.

It rushes over the minor scenes, only showing a bit of emotion in major reveals or scenes. The thing is, those tiny scenes are what makes me actually really want to read it. Romance is supposed to be cute! Not a series of events.

I love big boss protagonist spoiling cute FL stories, but this wasnt executed very well.

Not too far in, but man it gets kinda depressing TBH. I get face-slapping, but... this story seems to not have any mercy. The MC brutally destroys the lives of the people who would have destroyed the person whose life he is avenging, despite him having intervened before the events even occurred in the new timeline. As such, it's really cruel feeling.

Sure, these people did shitty things. Sure, they have attitude problems. But... I feel like it's just too vindictive. He never lets it go. He make sure to grind... more>> his enemies to the point of no return. I'm not one to say "every villain should deserve to live", but... what he does is torturous. It's one thing to end a person's life. It's another to methodically destroy all their connections, all their sources of wealth, isolate them from everyone they love, and leave them to die alone and destitute.

Despite that, it's actually pretty enjoyable. I enjoy the early parts of the arcs especially, when he's on the back foot overcoming all odds. The heroines are likable, the MC is interesting and fun to watch work, and the setting is well developed. It's just at the ends of the arc I start to feel like it just went too far. <<less

this is a very interesting story. if its not clear already the protagonist is a male-a straight male. he travels through different planes as a guardian. his role is basically to fulfill the original bodes grievance and protect loved ones who suffered...

⚠ WARNING ⚠ if you are looking for a sugary sweet world hopping or something, this is not it! here the MC is very dedicated towards his missions, some involving women where he has to protect. In such planes he loves those women whole heartedly, some planes he finds... more>> a woman himself and in some planes he is single.

The MC has mostly been reborn into men in their 20's but there are some occasions where he is middle aged or Nan old man (like 3-4 planes)

personally as someone who needs romance in whatever books I read, I was slightly disappointed. I mean it was to plain for me... there was no deep details or hot kisses and what not.... but again not based on romance!

there are quite a few things that stand out in this novel compared to other similar QT/WH/ST novels.

Spoiler

1-when he started out as a raider he had not a lot of advantages apart from his super memory and some teachings from ghost directors or something... these are the early arcs... here he already seemed OP in the modern worlds. then came in the system.... later he bagged the system in one of the worlds and it has accompanied him since-a great helper, makes everything 80 times easier. and in a much later world gains a dragon and in the last arc there is a white tiger... (idk if its the system transformed or what...)

[collapse]

2-there was never just one love interest, there were different ones in different planes. he loved all of them wholeheartedly and had to stay in his space for ages till he could recover back to his normal mentality, forgetting all the love and companionship in the previous worlds....

3-there is one arc where he took over the identity of a prince and all his 4 wives had systems, 2 reborn, 1 from the future and 1 from the end of the world.... (no love interests in this arc)

4-when he first encountered the system he actually set up a lab to study it and after it appearing in 2 planes he studied it successfully...

my disappointments:

1-in some arcs there were amazing connections made with side-characters who had a significant role, but are not later given any details on towards the end...i can understand the lack of romance but at least the other parts should have ended properly.

2-some arcs were a bit boring.... in fact towards a point I was getting really bored with chapters in the arcs...i skipped thru a lot! even the ones with slight romance cuz how there is hardly much going btwn them...

3-the whole raiders thing is actually not well explained. we know that he died and became a raider, we know that other raiders exist... but the concept about them is so vague esp when they seem to just be like any other human except that they have stronger souls.... the MC himself would have died many times if it werent for the system. so how do other raiders cope-im curious! is there a base or something?!?!?

overall a great read, I recommend it!

ps-I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE ON ONE THING!!!! some people say that he was not true or that he did not wholeheartedly love the women or have one lover.... basically I want to say that he loved each and everyone of them with his everything... he never cheated anyone nor did he ever love multiple females in 'one' plane... after every plane he took a rest in his space it could have been hundreds of years by the time he got rid of all his feelings for the past world or just a few years (in the space time does not exist) whenever he went to a new plane it was like he was reborn... so technically he did only love one woman.

Also if there was a setting where all those women he was with had the same soul or whatever he wouldn't be a raider any more. <<less

I will be reserving my rating until later, but I thought it would be good to write a review on what I've read thus far.

Honestly, this one is pretty good! As a fan of the romance genre, I almost exclusively pick up titles that have a female protagonist and never a male one. Too many times I've read romance stories with male protagonists that are very pervy, feature a very imbalanced harem scenario, or I feel compelled to beat up the male MC (either because he's a jerk, a perv,... more>> or a player in the bad sense). But, I decided to take my chance on this one despite my hesitation and I don't regret it!

Firstly, the male protagonist is a genuine good person. what a high bar to pass I know Even though he's been QT'ing for several worlds, he still comes off as rather innocent, if not just naively sincere when it comes to romance. But, he's by no means an idiot. I love how Xu Zifan always wants to do business, stock trading, investment, etc. Even in the era of China's socioeconomic reform (lol loophole exploitation abound). His personality is steady; he's not a person who will go out of his way to make trouble, outside of what his mission dictates, but he also doesn't take offenses lying down. He knows how to be grateful and returns other people's graciousness appropriately. He's very OP from the start, which would have been a turn off for me, but his sincerity and nigh inexperience with romance makes him a much more enjoyable protagonist.

The stories/arcs that feature a romantic female leads are quite lovely, too. The FLs themselves have strong, robust personalities and are given a chance to grow into their own persons. They end up being a pretty good match for Xu Zifan, and he for them. There's quite a variety of worlds, so the interest in each story is well-maintained in this regard.

The weakest point of this title is probably the writing when it doesn't involve Xu Zifan's thoughts and scheming. What I mean to say is, the romance can be pretty lacking and big events can be glossed over egregiously. I can't help but want more dog food for the couples, as both leads are very cute and fun to read about in their own right, but there really isn't a lot of time dedicated to letting them fall in love organically. There was a bit in the first arc, since that's the first time Xu Zifan actually does fall in love, but in the later arcs this process is very minimal. As for the "big events" I mentioned, it just feels like the author doesn't have the ability to present these events in a convincing way so they just choose to omit the details entirely. An example would be the arc where Xu Zifan QT's into a straw bag, second generation rich kid with a pretty powerful and rich family. I don't think it's spoilers to say that this family does not do well in the end, but the details of how the family's company/business falls in the aftermath of Xu Zifan's scheming isn't explained at all. It's just simply presented as, "[Character X] was very incompetent and then the Xu family business declared bankruptcy." There's only so much that "he's a bad leader" or "Xu Zifan's spies lead the leader to make bad choices" can explain the fall of an entire business enterprise, you know? I commend the author for making Xu Zifan a business mogul-obsessive, but they need to back it up with the research so that this aspect of the MC's personality uplifts the story. It should enhance the MC's thought process, actions, and desires rather than serve as set dressing for his character.

If I had to give this title a number rating, I'd put it at a 4/5 at the time of this review. Give it a read, you'll have a good time. ^_^ <<less

This is so beautiful and I recommend people who loves transmigration novels. This is just a beautiful man who is too smart and helps the female lead by saving her multiple times. Im glad that the protagonist was a man instead of a women because it's been a routinely thing. No offense.

I quite enjoyed it but as you get along you realized there's too many unneeded paragraphs and the characters are all 1 dimensional. Erm that's the hazard of reading too many QT everything get blended together. If you only read one or two QT before I think this book will be enjoyable untul the end.

The plot writing is very naïve, especially the first arc. The characters are all 1 dimensional with no real personality. The antagonist are so cartoonishly written that it's hard to suspend your disbelief. The story itself is written very matter of factly. "This happened, that happened". It feels like I'm reading a wikipedia article about the summary of the story instead of the story itself at times. There's no depth to the story at all. Translation is not very good either with unnecessary censoring and TN opinion notes interjected directly... more>> into the source material as well as lots of grammar mistakes. <<less

It's both refreshing and boring. What's refreshing is that compared to most other QT, the way MC handles the tasks (revenge or saving someone) is straight to the point and he really schemes plus the story themselves are interesting and not the typical immediate zombie, xianxia, or interstellar plot from the very start. He also views the relationship in the world individually as in it's his choice to fall in love, marry, and have kids

Spoiler

and he's not bound by the usual "at the end of it all, i've only just fallen in love with one person's fragmented soul."

he falls in love, cherishes the woman, have children and grandchildren without any scruples of "I'm not from this world so I can't have babies and I can't leave my babies alone here", have a very warm and loving family, and then dies in peace, moves on, then falls in love with another woman in another world if he thinks of building a family.

It's not scummy, MC finds another relationship and builds another family (not every arc) after he moves on to the next world. And the adjusts mindset in his 'space' before taking the next mission.

[collapse]

however, what made it boring is that it's like a copy paste story structure just changing environment/plot theme.

Spoiler

MC wakes up, gets story, interesting scenario of how he'll get revenge, then ends up with him being a positive influence to the whole society and being the richest man in the country.

[collapse]

The revenge part is half interesting and half not because since we get different themes and stories, we get a different approach of how he'll break free from his current predicament, but everything that follows after (the actual start of revenge) is monotonous

Spoiler

he'll always post on social media first to get the whole country alarmed then wait for the authorities to deal with stuff (while giving some "hacked" evidence coz of his genius computer zkillz) meanwhile he sets up his business, show a positive image despite being the victim, then becomes a renowned positive influence. That's it.

[collapse]

It's also why I think it's refreshing and boring because MC has great talents in doing business and earning money and he does make full use of his strength all through out which is really a logical approach (like why suffer trying something unknown when I can guarantee my money making skills?) unlike other QT stories that try to earn money and influence based on what type of character they're currently occupying.

BUT since it's him all through out (doesn't take a different persona depending on the current body he's residing), his approach to things are the same, so expect the same process and ending.

It's a fine read but not really recommendable to read everything in one sitting as it gets boring. I might change my opinion after I've read some more chapters but not for now. <<less

it was a fun read at first but as I kept reading it started to get really boring. The MC is too overpowering and the female lead has no personality. Actually both the female lead and male lead have no personality or chemistry. They have no friends, only fans and team members that don’t have any names. There is no humor lovey dovey interaction with the ML and FL (so far) I just can’t root for them because I don’t feel good or bad about either ML or FL.... more>> The world is pretty bland and there’s nothing interesting except for the face slapping and internet fans. The antagonists are only there to make the FL and ML seem like better people? They don’t really have much character depth or intelligence. The FL’s parents and everyone around her seem to be scum so it’s really tiring and annoying to read. I think it would be better if the author added more lighthearted and warm interactions to lighten up the blandness of the story. Why is everyone bad except for the ML??
— This will be a good read for anyone who is extremely bored otherwise I would not recommend.

I have to mention that I didn’t finish the whole story I am at the part where they finish the second movie and the FL’s mom calls her to come home. (Not sure what chapter.) <<less

I love this, one of my favorites in Quick Transmigration novels. The novel started beautifully with the Arc 1 & 2 being written well and relatable. This novel may not have the protagonist have the same wife but... you'll still love it! In his space after the worlds, he will rest there and his feelings for his family, wife, childrens, friends will slowly fade as time past by and his youthful mentality will come back as a sign to start his journey once more. The arcs of this novel is... more>> unique and not repetitive. Even if it was set like in the modern world, the plot and his identity will differ from the other modern worlds. It was carefully and beautifully written! Love this. If you want to read Quick Transmigration/System/World Hopping novels, this is a MUST for you. You'll love it. It's a 5star for me. <<less

i dont typically leave reviews, but after the cultivation arc and finding out about the author's views on death and love and realizing hey, our views on this topic actually align, I couldnt help but want to promote this novel haha

it gets dry sometimes, because the first few worlds are pretty mundane, and the MC himself seems to be aware of it considering how excited he got in the cultivation world. Additionally, because this isnt one of those 1v1 QT fics where the main character has a partner that travels... more>> with them between worlds, it gets understandably lonely until the modern world where
Spoiler

the target of the face-slapping was a system host.

at the end of that arc, MC basically steals the system and names it Shaohua iirc, and the loneliness of the MC's eternal worldhopping lessened a bit; not going to lie, I get a little bit happy for the Xu Zifan whenever he and Shaohua interact. Sure our repeat-widower MC gets a new family or finds a new love sometimes in the next world, but eventually he'd have to leave them behind and continue living while his loved ones die. In the light of that, having Shaohua is really good, even though its a mechanical system thats still learning and doesn't really have much of a will of its own.

kinda like how a lonely child collects stuffed toys to replace the friends they don't have, you know, but better because the system can actually respond unlike a teddy bear lmao. God I should really work on my social withdrawal smh.

[collapse]

other than that, yeah. This is a really nice read. Admittedly I took long-ass breaks and sometimes skipped a few arcs because they were a bit dragging but its not bad, and as someone who can't fall in love, the fact that a lover isn't Xu Zifan's be all end all is very nice. He's determined and hard-working and loves to learn, and is also faithful to whoever he chooses to spend his life in that world with, and if he doesn't find anyone he likes or just can't even think about a relationship
Spoiler

like in the beast world arc where its all men and men that can't transform are the "females" and can even get pregnant (sign of the cross for our steel-straight MC lolololol. Kinda mean but its absolutely hilarious how stressed he is during this arc; feels great to see a novel protag work hard to avoid misunderstandings like I do daily lmao)

[collapse]
he just stays single. His views on love are very realistic, and I like how he always lives his life to the fullest in every world and spends a lot of time to move on in the void each and every time. <<less

Fun to read, lots of face slapping with fluff mixed in.

Wished there were more character interactions rather than

"MC went on to do this, then that, became #1 richest man and died happily with his wife. The End"

... more>> Revenge is morally ambiguous at times, and makes me wonder if others deserve to get destroyed by the MC because of it. I know people read this because of the whole revenge part, but when MC destroys and bankrupts someone because they wronged him that one time, I feel more pity than satisfaction.

Moral of the story, "Never forgive or forget" and "Success is the greatest revenge" <<less

This is very cute and fluffy and gets marks for being somewhat different from the mass of QT novels by being a Male Protag hetero QT. It's also nice to not have a domineering / manipulative / "I'm mean to you cause I like you" male love interest for a change up.

It loses a star for being a bit slow and draggy but with only 27 chapters translated, I'd definitely say give it a shot!

Oh boy, what a ride this has been. I'm not too big on introductions here so I'll just get right into it.

Arc 1: Movie Queen's Domineering Fan

Spoiler

This was such a good start to the whole novel, It doesn't waste any time and just gets right into the action. And I'm not kidding, right in the beginning Zifan literally just gets in there and slickly and completely screws over the plot of the fake best friend and the regressor. And we all know that any other MC wouldn't do that, they would basically just grab popcorn and watch until the deed was essentially about to be done. Zifan even had the audacity to completely turn the trap on them. Throughout this whole story of getting Zixin back into movies while screwing over the Male Lead and the regressor really got me feeling that Zifan would make Grand Admiral Thrawn jealous with his scheming and sly plays. It really shows that Zifan specializes in punishing those who abuse their gifts to do evil. and oh boy does this regressor get completely screwed over, it was essentially a one sided beat down and all she could do was bit*h and cry as well as literally throwing vases at the man she wanted to leech off of.

[collapse]

Arc 2: Poor Childhood Sweet-heart's counter attack

Spoiler

This one was VERY satisfying to me. I've been quite fed up with a lot of these 'childhood friends' doing all types of bullsh*t and essentially getting away with it. However at the same time, you can really sympathize with the villainess as well. Because Arranged Marriages are absolutely immoral and a violation of human rights. What's even worse is that everyone including Zifan basically go 'It was a joke bro, relax.' Things like Arranged marriages and pressured relationships are absolutely not something you can joke a bout. However I do understand that this doesn't necessarily excuse her cheating. If she was really dissatisfied with the relationship as they said she could've just said so.

I was also surprised with the love interest of this world. She didn't even put up an actual fight against the fact she was from a middle class family instead of a high class. Instead as they mentioned, she was next to unfazed by it. Of course, she was basically only here because she wanted to get into Zifan's pants but it was also a really great business experience to be in the shoes of a different perspective. And this is probably partially why she was able to excel just fine alongside Zifan to the point she was able become the full CEO of the learning company.

I was kind of confused by her parents. To be honest they simply could've just disowned the childhood friend the moment she started causing problems and refused to improve her studies and manners. Frankly I was surprised they didn't start trying for another kid the moment the FML left to be with her biological parents. And it was also kind of strange that the rival company tried to keep their claws in it for so long. It should've been plain as day early on that they couldn't use the childhood friend to absorb that family. AT the end of the day Zifan then spent a lot of his time improving his other abilities for future use in other worlds, and this'll become a trend starting from here.

[collapse]

Arc 3: Piss off the scum father

Spoiler

To be honest there's not much to say about this one other than it being the typical revenge and fix life story I guess it was very satisfying of having the mom wake up from her 20 year coma to kick her cuckholding husband in the balls. It was also kind of strange how the stepson just couldn't get it into his thick skull that Zifan wasn't someone he could f*ck with. He had proven time and time again that he couldn't touch Zifan, yet he constantly kept saying 'hold my beer'. I can't say I was completely satisfied with the ending though, but becoming sterile to flip off the bloodline of the family I guess is fine. By the way, my guy busted his stepbrother's nuts with a baton... a F*cking Baton.

[collapse]

Arc 4: The Domineering Educated Youth

Spoiler

To be honest, there's not much to say here either, but we're back with the reborn targets. And this time Zifan basically did next to nothing aside from starting a company while the regressor just went off and f*cked herself over on her own which I thought was hilarious.

[collapse]

Arc 5: An Honest Man

Spoiler

This one was hilarious, from Zifan faking the sleepwalking to scare the sh*t out of his targets from him basically helping the mu*derous boyfriend dig his own grave deeper and deeper. was a relaxing read, one gripe is that there wasn't a proper happy ending with a love interest. But I guess with that type of situation, finding a loving partner would be difficult, mentally.

[collapse]

Arc 6: Raider, Get lost!

Spoiler

Woo, now this one was particularly interesting. Dude has to fight the common system you see in these types of stories. and really kinda tells you that a lot of these systems are just plainly parasites for the soul if you think about it. With the System Host though, not quite sure what her plan was. Despite Zifan having puppet strings wrapped around her basically, there was no way any of her plans would actually get her close to Zifan in the first place. And we saw how it ended up, she had to resort to system drugs to try and get Zifan in her sheets, yet he still saw right through it. It was interesting to see the system basically go into pure panic mode when it really started to realize that Zifan knew of it's existence and acknowledged it as an enemy basically. Yet despite all that, it still tried to bind with him after it separated from the original host. It was kind of interesting on how he dealt with the system too.
