Born as an extra in the completed novel. The main characters had their own happy ending, and they lived a peaceful life with their grandfather without any incident. Suddenly, the original male lead came to me and knelt down.

“……?”

What’s going on here?

“…..You.”

Said the male lead whose eyelashes were shaking.

“You’re Mariette’s daughter.”

I dropped the flower crown I was holding from my hand.
Who is Mariette?
Isn’t it the name of the original villainess who lost everything and met a tragic end?
By the way, I’m Mariette’s daughter?
What a crazy thing to say.
At that time, I was seriously thinking about whether or not the male lead turned crazy after the ending of the novel.

“And… also my daughter…”

The male lead said with tears in his eyes.
….Huh?

“I’m finally meeting you. I didn’t even know I had a child. Baby, I’m actually your father!!”

The moment when the male lead continued to speak mournfully.
Crying-!
Someone suddenly came out and slapped the male lead in the back of the head with all his might.
Slapping-
The male lead, who was hit in the head, passed out and threw his face on the dirty ground.

“Where did you lay your hands on, you bastard!”

Then, the grandfather, whose face was blushing, appeared and shouted aloud.

“You’re such a fool who doesn’t even know grace, how much my daughter suffered because of you and left, where are you shamelessly coming to?”

I stared at the male lead, who had his face savagely smashed on the floor, and Grandfather, who came with a bigger stone this time with a lot of energy.

It was the moment when the secret of my birth that I had never dreamed of was revealed.

This really shouldn't have the comedy tag. The beginning seems light and funny but turns real serious pretty fast. Aside from MC and her grandpa, every other character introduced (be it important or side character) are presented in a very unlikable way whose only purpose in the story is to drive the MC further down. What started as a promising story to read turns out to be a pretty stressful and unenjoyable experience. Skip this if you can.

The one thing is I look for in transmigration/reincarnation novels is how does the MC remember their past life, and sometimes it's awkward with them being a completely different person with no one noticing, and sometimes it's well done like remembering your past life when you were a baby.

Our MC remembers her past memories at a young age, so it feels less awkward and the overall pacing feels good.

Usually people also give the og parent' a clear happy ending after defeating the villaniness which leads to the kids suffering, but... more>> this one is unique which even the MC in her og world recognizes that her dad (in her new world) was a scumbag. The villainess supposedly tried to kill the dad's wife, but I still find it weird that you completely abandon the fiance of the person that helped raised you to have a blessed life after your dad was called a traitor. Completely making them live in the countryside. Maybe the the villainess for sure, but it all seems very sus to me.

Only seen the beginning so far, but can't wait for it, let's go translator <<less

after reading more chapters, I've concluded that I won't be continuing this novel, here's why:

Each time we get a new character, we get chapters and chapters of backstory before we even become attached or form any opinions about the present character. That's lazy writing and it's really annoying because the plot starts and stops constantly in the name of info dumping. It's elementary not to do this, literally one of the first rules of storytelling/writing. Second - all characters have some form of a tragic backstory, but that backstory is... more>> so focused on that we lose the story focus. At this point I'm not sure if our FL is the MC or if she's just a convenient plot device to show us more tragic backstories.

Third - Most character interactions feel artificial, and our FMC is basically a Mary Sue. Lastly, the author constantly introduces new pieces of the plot without properly linking/recall to previous plot points. It feels like disjointed slice of life plot arcs rather than a set of arcs building a coherent whole.

Tl:dr? Probably not worth your time, there are way better novels of similar genre to read.

—original c43 review below-

This could be good (it's too early to tell), but so far it's just a whole lot of rude abusive male characters who all loved or were involved with FLs Mom (who is dead) that keep abducting her because of their desires.

I do really like the FL and her approach of compromising and fighting back. It's very realistic.

Tl:dr gotta read more for a true determination, but so far what it's setup is a bit weird and doesn't make a lot of narrative sense (yet) <<less

I know that it's way too early to write a review, but I think that this novel deserves to have one. The plot seems to be good and emotional.

The title of the novel kind of gives out the main plot, (I think there might be more to it). Hopefully, the novel will assurance to its full potential.

MC is the daughter of the villainous mother and Male lead Father (I don't like him maybe in further chapters I might like him, but I still don't think that will happen). She... more>> is reincarnated in the novel which had finished. She lives a very normal life with her grandfather (an ex-high rank noble and also father to the villainous daughter of the novel, she doesn't know still chapter 1 I think she is around 6 or 8 years).

Grandfather and MC hate/dislike the original male lead. <<less

Translations are still at only a very early stage so it's hard to say much about the story and as such I won't give NU rating for it at this point. Tentatively I'd rate it 4/5 so far, but that can easily go up or way down to the bottom depending how the story develops.

EDIT: as of chapter 8, this is 3/5 and the story seems to be going hard downhill, I no longer recommend this.

The beginning seems interesting with the MC actually rejecting the scumbag and staying adamant (so... more>> far) in her rejection which is a breath of fresh air. MC and her grandpa seem feel very vivid as characters despite the short character building time of 6 chapters.

The original male lead's actions seem completely out of place and his obsession makes no sense, even after it has been explained at least once. In addition, it seems like plot seems fairly forced when it comes keeping the original male lead involved with the actual MC. It feels like he is some sort of "keep the MC on her toes" system rather than actual character.

Spoiler

As an example, his kind of out of place obsession with his daughter which is explained by: "because she carries his blood" and only that, even going as far as to neglect his wife and step-daughter, the ones for whom he betrayed the family that took him in when he was a traitor's child.

King of wind spirits suddenly pipes up unprompted, kind of out of nowhere after MC escaped, that MC did in fact escape so that the original male lead can keep obsessing and (probably) tracking her down. At the same time it's mentioned the king of wind spirits seems to hate the original male lead and is protecting MC, so?

Original male lead seems to be able to converse with his daughter, except when it comes to listening what she has to say. (I'll admit that this isn't unreasonable reaction for him to have when he wants his daughter back, but even so it comes across unnaturally forced)

the translation is one of the best I've read so far as I can recall while on NU and the story is still in it's early stages so I don't have enough basis that it will be a great story but it shows great potential paired with its great pacing.

the genres of this particular novel includes comedy but it leans heavily on its drama aspect more so expect that there wouldn't be a lot of comedic moments.

It's starts of with a very interesting premise: The hidden daughter of the villainess and the male lead.

Early chapters / background: After her biological father discovers her existence, he tries to get her to like him. However, she is strongly against following him and hates/dislikes him. And she stays true to that. More and more reasons are added. In the end she is forced into following because the male lead threatened her Grandfather's life.

The style of writing and translations are very good.

Don't read this when you are not looking... more>> for:

    • intrigues and schemes
    • reasons for characters' actions being given in later parts / not immediately getting why characters act in a certain way
    • a serious / thoughtful main character, a main character acting mature and not showing many expressions
If I had to give this novel a tag it would be: #It gets worse before it gets better
