This is both beautiful and hilarious.

Tired of terrible love interests? This villainess will aggressively screw them over (and occasionally beat them up) while the heroine is literally laughing- Honestly, their whole entourage and everyone's demeanor is just marvelous. I don't even want to spoil anything because I love it all~ Hard recommend, especially for Nine, he is absolutely best boy and you will definitely like him.

I've read the manhwa already, it's awesome. The protagonist is so badass and funny. There's two potential lovers, and both are great ships to jump onto. And the antagonists are so ridiculous but well made enough so it's funny and good drama starts.

I have a question about the cover though? The manhwa I read is on Mangadex, which has a completely different artist. The FL's hair on MD is a strawberry blonde (edit: a deep strawberry blonde), but this cover her hair is brown. Google mainly brings me to the... more>> strawberry blonde type, so idk. <<less

Can't say anything about it now but I have read the manga. The FL is so epic you are gonna wish she was your friend.... more>>
Spoiler

So FL reincarnated in a typical harem novel with crown prince as her fiance and 2nd ML her brother. Still her relationship with her father and brother is bad. So we have 4 ML the crown prince, brother (Duke), werewolf and billionaire. She is a hated villian and she didn't try to change her reputation at all instead she faceslaps everyone been the villian. Actually all ML were tr*sh and she face slaps them all till there face hurt. But she becomes friend with the heroine (yuri *just imagination*). The real ML is a secret but he is not tr*sh like the four.

I luuuuuuuuvvv the MC!!! This is what I mean by a good female lead not just some girl forgiving guys who clearly did NOT value them. She's funny, blunt, witty, sarcastic and strooong (the way she became OP was too funny I almost died laughing) By the way, this literally have the cutest and at the same time sexiest ML ever.

I love the webtoon of this novel. I also love the bluntness of the female protagonist (villainess). She speaks her mind and is very witty. She's very sarcastic, and some of her references are Western which are quite hilarious. I also love the heroine because she doesn't give a damn about all the male leads who are jerks.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The manhua for this is absolutely hilarious so im delighted that someone picked up the translation! The translation so far (only ch 1 is translated as im writing this so if youre reading later take this with a grain of salt) is pretty good-- there are a few mistakes in grammar but nothing that makes it anywhere near unreadable. Melissa is an absolute delight, and while the other characters mostly have yet to be introduced in what's translated, in the manhua at least theyre all similarly fun. This is... more>> by no means a literary masterpiece but its fun, funny, and a good mix of character driven comedy, situational comedy, and some cute and somewhat unconventional romance :) <<less

When a man is the main character, and isekai-ed, he saves the world. Or conquers it.

When a woman is iseaki-ed, it's a tumultuous romance. She can be a villainess, a heroine, a magician, a duchess, whatever... 99 times out of 100.

If you are freaking tired of it, take a stab at this novel and its manhwa. It makes a thorough mockery of this concept, exposing how the common tropes would translate into the real world, while at the same time embodying the romance in question.

Kudos.

I haven't laughed this hard while reading in a long time. As long as you don't take it too seriously, this is a fantastic read, but let me break it down to you:

Let's start with the cons (because I shall next explain why the pros outweigh them tenfold, hence my 5-star rating)

    • The side characters (not leads) are somewhat shallow. The four romantic interests of the book's heroine are meant to be dislikeable at the start, and their initial personalities are quite one-dimensional, with no backstories to explain their behaviours.
      Spoiler

We have one royal playboy, a silent stalker, a brash and violent werewolf and a rich, arrogant yandere. Even when it came time for their "character development", it felt very rushed.

      [collapse]
    • The whole "novel" thing feels a little iffy? At times, it's like her world is that of an Otome game instead of a novel, with the different character endings and major events. It's a bit confusing...
    • A few minor plot holes:
    • Minor spoilers:
      Spoiler

The MC's sword is an OP item that came a bit out of nowhere..? It would have been more realistic if we saw her struggling to learn swordsmanship, but instead we just get to see her practice after she had already mastered it, and her innate talent for it feels like an excuse..?

      [collapse]
    • Major spoilers:
      Spoiler

The characters get deus-ex-machina'ed a time or two, imo: Nine somehow escapes Jack's ire, despite his massive disadvantage of missing his fangs. Then there's the whole fight with his twin older brother, which I found predictable and reasonable until our MC woke up last minute and prevented him from killing his twin. (Talk about timing)

      [collapse]
And now, the (massive list of) pros:

    • The main character is absolutely bonkers and I am here for it. She curses, she fights, she doesn't back down from confrontation and doesn't take any of the romantic interests' bs. She's realistic in the way she also has the corresponding flaws: she's impulsive, a little brash, and for all her wits, she's immensely dense when it comes to romantic interest for her (but I'll forgive it, since the humour that comes out of it is great)
    • The two leads are wonderful. They have their own personalities, their flaws, and are overall well-developed. The romance (read: one-sided infatuation) makes sense, considering the circumstances and does not feel rushed at all.
    • The MC's maid is almost as funny as she is, and her sass and bluntness compliments the MC perfectly to make the best humour duo.
    • The plot is intriguing: at the start, the MC tries to distance herself from the novel's love interests, but quickly finds out they're all a**holes that do not deserve the heroine. She then sets out on a mission to cut off their ties to her and to the heroine. I like the way it sheds a realistic light on how certain behaviours shouldn't be romanticized, and all of this is written in a well-paced manner. It also has a good amount of foreshadowing and mystery that keeps me wanting to know more.
    • I cannot review this without mentioning the amazing humour: each chapter contains meme-worthy panels, and there is the occasional situation that gets you laughing your lungs out. The main character's reaction to everything is golden and there are many references to our culture (although some of them are korean, so it flies over my head, but most of them are easy enough to get the gist of)
TL;DR: Read this if you want a good laugh, since the characters are absolutely fantastic, the art is great, the plot is well-paced and most importantly, the humour is top-tier.

I am reading its manga and LOVE it. A suberb comedy, I hurt my throat while laughing at it lol. So happy that I was able to discover this one. I think it will be my favourite of all times.

To sum up, it is one of those novels with a character reincarnated as the villainess of a novel BUT it absolutely ridicules the genre pointing out all the unresaonable aspects of it. Extremely good.

Simply it's not for adults, it's ridiculous. The MC just has to stay put until the ML meet the novel FL, but she goes around creating trouble for herself. Each of the characters of this novel is ridiculous, and the MC is at the top of the list.

I have completed the manhwa version and this is the best "villainess" genre novel/manhwa I've read.

It's hilarious but it very accurately displays the tiresome problems and cliches in the otome game/novel type stories.

I can't stress enough about how much I love Mellisa and her kicking the asses of the cringe Capture targets of the game. She's bold, brash and is hilarious and also dense to romantic feeling for herself but it's very well suited to her character.

Also MC's maid Yona is perfect with her sassy banter with MC and her... more>> quirks. The duo are fun to watch.

Even the og FL has awesome character development and she's a person in her own right and her character is beautiful and tragic too. Oh god I love Yuri amd how she fights against the constraints of the novel world and her role. (I had some expectations for the Yuri (pun intended) ending between Mellisa and her but Nine is too cute so sorry babe)

The only con I'd say is the shallow characterization of the capture targets with no explanation as to why they're that way but it doesn't really detract much from the story as MC realised that all of them are a**holes and they don't really deserve the ogFL. So she sets out to break the routes all together. It's ironic in a way too cause usually in otome game stories it's the FL that has a basic character setting and no explanation for her character so I kinda find this fitting for the capture targets to be this way in the novel.

Also I really appreciate how it clearly displayed how certain very prevalent traits aren't actually romantic and are toxic and harmful to others. Each of the capture targets has problems and it's not the FL's job to make them better and I really like this message. (Say no to toxic obsession)

My favourite parts were the Og Mellisa's meeting with MC and the pov of Yuri the og FL of the story. Her pov especially was really tragica and made me ache so much for her. Really loved it.

Basically it's hilarious, it questions the cliches and gives the female characters agency.

I adore this. 5 stars all the way!!!

Guys definitely read this <<less

I'd say that my review is biased because I just love lady Melissa A LOT c:

I'm reading the manhwa and it never fails to make me laugh so hard in every chapter. Please note that the genre is comedy, so if you expect some serious or heavy plot, this isn't for you but I'm not saying that this story is a waste.

I love how she knocked out the crown prince first by annulling the useless engagement cuz it was so satisfying. The crown prince was a total bast*** and he's... more>> still a clown even after redeeming himself lol

this story is for entertaining I'd say cuz this has millennial jokes, and her mindset is so modern. I absolutely love how she breaks the stereotype and the misogyny against women. Again, it was just so satisfying seeing her knock all the males off

if you're tired of some typical-distressing tropes (esp in isekai stories) you can give this a try <<less

I love how hilarious the characters were from MC, ML, the maid, the capture targets, the heroine, etc. And if your read the manhua version, the art was also quite comical and successfully made me laugh several times. The story itself was quite refreshing, considering that it's released on 2019. Seriously, if you want to read something fun with minimal angts, then this story was the right choice for you.

I usually value female characters in a work more. The treatment of this story was satisfying and entertaining. I wish there were more stories like this.

Many of the other works with the "OGFL is a bit*h because she's loved by all the males" descriptions made me want to scream and drop the novel. That's why Yuri is so different.
