Anyways about the plot— the male lead tbh won't be likable to all readers

It's short yet the emotions, character development is superb even tho I was reading the MTL I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT REGRET SPENDING ALL MY MONEY ON 110 CHAPTERS.

The moment Chloe left him (by faking her death) he really became a mad King, for that two years he regretted so much and suffered it really made me satisfied *chef kiss* and the ending of that brat Alice is so satisfying I loved it, she really became prisoner of love— fyi she got married to the tyrant of the enemy Kingdom (so the sisters became the queens of the two kingdoms which were each other's enemy for years, also yes this is the same Kingdom with whom Damien won the war against and the same Kingdom who killed Damien's father), she and that her lover (not now) forever live in a love-hate relationship it was hinted in the epilogue that they continue to live with fights and etc while Damien and Chloe were having outdoor interc**rse on boat haha... Anyways this novel is really really good please don't give so much hate to a good novel

If the story ended in the ML being killed the novel would of been good. The ML is one of the most disgusting, abusive scums I've seen in a novel in a long time.

I really like this novel so far, yes the ML is very bad (but I undertand it since the period time and why he does what he does) , but lets be honest, not all ppl even in real world are good, when someone wants power they gonna do what they must no matter what and of course regret later (if they really at the end love someone) I like that touch of reality and how they portrated the ML no has a Hero and the "perfection of human being"... more>> like always see in other novels or the typical "love at first sight" just more like a Villain.

If ppl dont understand that this is in a period era (Class system, women behind their husbands, men who are in full control in relationships, etc) and even the ML is like it said in some parts of the novels "twisted" pls dont read it, but dont classified the novel as bad only because is not your cup of tea because the plot and every else is very perfect.

First of all, I had a confusion about who’s the FL because I got hook with Alice personality not until I kept reading that I realize that Chloe is our FL ***LMAO

I like Chloe and the sister chemistry in this story

This may sound selfish but truth to be told sometimes in life you need to give up things that are hard to give up - such as family or duchess position -, even if it ends up hurting other’s, because you know it restraints you from finding your own happiness... more>> and you know to yourself that you will never grow as a person you want to be if you never followed your dreams. It is true that we are the only ones responsible for our own decision’s because your life is yours and sometimes we need to make a choice, the same thing goes for Alice where she took the risk of running away from dept-ridden family because she knows that is how she’ll continue grow and find herself happiness despite being given a choice to become a duchess whom she never saw a future in.

As for Chloe who is being a martyr, I kind of felt the pain of loneliness, well can you imagine your sister leaving you? Or to be more precise, ‘being left behind?’ but Chloe understood this feeling well because she knew she should be the one carrying the burden - only if she isn’t disabled - and not her sister Alice. To make matters worse our poor Chloe is being manipulated by narcissistic Duke, but look how witty she is every time she converse with him! - Which can really annoy the Duke -. <<less

I must admit that the plot is DAMN GOOD until the part when MC faked her death and left. I don't regret spending money for this, although the ML really deserved a beating. He was an arrogant man. He loved MC but he also did not hesitate to play dirty to achieve his plan, because he simply considered it as temporary sacrifice to achieve greater goal.

I'm cursing but keep reading because the chemistry is definitely there and I was curious how it's going to end. The romantic moments were really... more>> sweet. Also, the scene when he found her dead, was really heartbreaking. I'm torn between loving or hating this, so I better leave this unrated.

There were also many sweet moments in the period after love confession and before the truth revealed, i.e. Walking together and kissing under the bridge, attending concert, surprise visit to her family, etc. He also helped restoration of her family estate and gave them half of the share of the gold mine. She would have lived happily in the illusion of perfect love if only she never learned the truth.

Perhaps, one good thing about ML is that he came to her in the end as himself, not as a king or ruler, and gave her freedom to choose to come back or not. I really wish that MC would leave the ass***e forever after faking her death. That would be better ending and I would have given solid 5 stars if so. Unfortunately she chose to come back. Sigh.

Edit: Okay, I took pity for this novel. I don't like the ending but the plot is solid and flows flawlessly. It's really a GOOD WRITING. If even a plain novel can get 3-4 stars, then this one truly doesn't deserve low rating. So I give 5 stars to help with the rating.

Ok this is one of the better novels written. There is a hoard of garbage out there and I know better. In my opinion kind of goes on the concept of pride and prejudice. Characterizations are very realistic and are done well. The FL has a disability but it's not like the author is trying to "fix" it by some magic fantasy logic. FL lead is calm and deals well with the curved balls thrown by the ML. The ML ok... ya he is horrible but horrible in a way... more>> that I can totally see someone like him who lives in that time period. That being said I hate the ML but doesn’t mean I will stop reading this. I actually like how calculating his character even though I hate him. I am glad the author didn’t end up making him nice or misunderstood or gave some lame reason for us to forgive him for his attitude earlier. <<less

I have no idea why this webnovel got so much hate while I have been enjoying this since Chapter 1.

By far this is the most beautiful enemies to lovers trope I've ever read. I get that the ML is super toxic and manipulative but why do you take offense? It's fiction after all, just enjoy the ride. Besides, the FL is emotionally strong enough to deal with ML. I have faith in her.

I am still not sure how the ML's brain works, but I can feel that he likes our MC. So I am hoping that the translators won't leave this.
