• The female lead got drugged in the first chapter. She actually meant to spike the fiance's drink but took the wrong glass by mistake.
• She only pursued the fiance because she saw him rejecting a girl coldly before they met- thought that he is able to resist all temptations and be a loyal partner. However, she knew that it wasn't the case when the fiance lied to her brazenly. She saw the fiance and the white lotus entering their intended-newlywed house. When she called him to come to her apartment to talk, he said that he was at the company, agreed to come over but did not. She waited outside the apartment for an hour before leaving.
• The female lead might seem s*upid and spoiled but it is just a facade. She is actually very cold and hard to be messed with, expected from someone who rose to the top position in the entertainment industry by herself. She is estranged from her parents and financially independent.
• Both leads have twisted views regarding love stemming from their past. They do not care for love since it doesn't mean anything to them and only require loyalty from their partner. The male lead is passive and does what the female lead asks for as a way of doting on her but he gets rough at times.

• One of the enemies offered her a leading lady role with a highly-acclaimed director with the condition of break-up. He pointed out that even though Mo Shiqian has the ability to give her a stunning return to the entertainment industry, he did not offer to clean her name despite having false news being spread daily and widely nor gave her a helping hand. She didn't know his true identity so she never thought that he was just observing from sidelines.
• Her father was caught for corruption and sent to jail which leads to her influence collapsing and enemies emerging to step on her. Mo Shiqian sent her to the party as an excuse of meeting an investor (in fact it is himself) just to get Feng Xing to coincidentally meet with his former flame (the other top two beauty in the country), Chu Xi. Mo Shiqian came out to protect, stand up for her when she was insulted- a guest said that Chi Huan slept with him and has a birthmark, the crowd egged on her to strip to prove her innocence. She was also accused of a misdeed she did not commit. The guy was taken out and presumably had his tongue removed, the party guests were made to bow 90 degrees to apologise one by one.
• It is revealed that Mo Shiqian is the illegitimate second son of a huge MNC based in Paris with a family history of more than 200 years background. He is the CEO of the MNC's Asia branch. His father and her mother has their own plots to harm the two to break-up. Her mother's new husband framed Mo Shiqian's father for killing Chi Huan's father + drugged Mo Shiqian and shut him in a room with the step-daughter while doing the same to Mo Xigu & drugged Chi Huan to destroy their relationship.
• Mo Shiqian's family based in France pulled some strings to try to pull them apart (through an arranged fiancee, etc) but they only became serious when Mo Shiqian's older half-brother (Mo Shichen) went missing.
• Mo Shichen disappeared and supposedly died in a flight accident so Mo Shiqian became the heir apparent. His father who is the chairman of a huge MNC decided to tear them apart so he can marry someone more appropriate and become his successor in Paris.
• She endured and put up a fight but in the end, resolved to break up after being threatened by a series of happenings- Shiqian getting framed and beat up in the prison, her best friend's family business collapsed causing her best friend to 'sell' herself to Tang Yueze who insulted her endlessly but most importantly, Mo Shiqian's sister's being abducted to Mexico and was forced to sleep with someone for her safety which was filmed by his father's underlings + the video will be publicized through media. [Chi Huan did not reveal it to Mo Shiqian even after the story ended to preserve the sister's dignity.]. Another critical point: Mo Shiqian wanted to go to Mexico but suffered injuries so Feng Xing made Chi Huan drug Mo Shiqian to sleep so that he can replace him to go to the dangerous place. Shiqian's father told Chi Huan that Feng Xing is in danger as he is heavily injured and he killed the biggest drug lord's only son & only he can deal with it if they break up. Chi Huan ultimately chose to break up because she knew that more and more people will be implicated otherwise.
• They broke up thoroughly after she accidentally trampled his heart by unintentionally losing his child. Chi Huan thought that she was not pregnant and Mo Shiqian's father called her before that he will bribe the hospital to doctor the documents so she can break his heart, sever their relationship cleanly. Mo Xigu's mother secretly slipped an abortion medicine in her food which caused Mo Shiqian to give up on her. His father wired 10 billion in her account to frame her which worked. Mo Shiqian didn't believe that Chi Huan know nothing despite her insistence and thought that she no longer loved him since she wanted a break-up + too cruel to get rid of their child even though he begged her not to.
• The father died very quickly after successfully driving a wedge and shattering their relationship. Mo Shiqian became the CEO of the MNC (I suspect Chairman as well) and Chi Huan read in the news that he got married shortly.
• 5 years later, her manager set her up and she found herself in Mo Shiqian's bed. A series of events happened and she became the third party. The story portrayed how the 5 years apart effected them and their relationship. It touched on a constant state of tension, confusion and coldness revolving around broken trust. For Mo Shiqian, does Chi Huan truly love him, did she really left him unwillingly and unknowingly lost their child due to his father's scheming. For Chi Huan, does Mo Shiqian really love her or just wanted revenge or lust, why did he come back to find her after 5 years.
• Chi Huan self-harmed each time she slept with Mo Shiqian, a married man with child since she finds herself (the third party) disgusting. One night, she cut herself too deeply which was deemed as a "su*cide attempt" by Mo Shiqian. In the end, they separated and she got kidnapped, threatened by the wife's previous lover to seduce Mo Shiqian or else her nudes would be released. She asked him for help and Liang Manyue comes back into the story.
• The wife told Chi Huan to fight for Mo Shiqian since they are actually already divorced prior to coming back to the country which she did. They eventually did reconcile lightly. He acknowledged that he was too powerless to protect her 5 years ago and she did hurt his pride but it stung more knowing that it was right to do so. Especially since he had no idea/didn't believe that his father was threatening her and thought that she intentionally miscarried to kill his love though it was due to the enemies' scheming. Even when she explained, he didn't believe her at all until Mo Shichen's wife told him about Chi Huan was being threatened by their father in the passing after seeing them together.
• The child (little mango) was kidnapped by the wife's ex-lover (and the real father) and the wife divulged that the daughter wasn't Mo Shiqian's and begged her to keep the parentage as secret for awhile. They married just for appearances + no real relationship since their conditions matched- well-to-do family, being forced to get married and not looking for real marriage. Mo Shiqian did not tell her any of this and obviously did not intend to so she snapped.
• A highlight scene: Chi Huan confronted him that she gave in to him time and time again- forcing himself on her once he returned after 5 years, landing her only in-name boyfriend in hospital for several months with serious injuries, making her a third party a position she despised the most. She put down her pride and bore humiliation to pursue him after knowing he was divorced before coming back since she thought that he still love her but wouldn't chase her as she ditched him which hurt his pride. She only endured because she loves him and couldn't bear to hurt him so she self-mutilated as a punishment for her guilt. She cheapened herself to this state but he couldn't even tell her that his marriage was just a pretense, knowing that she will be happy.
• This outburst resulted in Mo Shiqian questioning and explaining his own actions, thoughts as well as finding her best friend to understand more about her during the 5-year gap. Chi Huan fought a lawsuit against the agency (owned by the asia branch of MNC) and to pay an astronomical sum of money for contract nullification forcing her to sell all her assets, live in extreme poverty (rats-infested apartment). Mo Shiqian did not understand why she did not touch the 10 billion given by his father and the best friend thought that the money was already gone since there's no signs of it existing. The takeaway is that he finally understand that Chi Huan slit her wrist not because she finds him disgusting but because of her guilty conscience/punishing herself for giving into temptations, becoming the third party. He thought that she was committing su*cide or self-harming for fun and did not comprehend until then.
• Mo Shiqian became more honest. He expressed that he wanted to find her after he obtained control of the whole MNC in Paris but couldn't when he remembered how she trampled his feelings. It would mean trampling on his own pride as well. He endured and endured everyday for 5 years until Chi Huan's manager contacted him which gave him a reason to approach her so he returned right away after divorcing. He confessed that he didn't tell her about his marriage circumstances because he seemed to be sub-consciously happy that she loved him despite all these things- a show of extreme love.
• Eventually, they found Mo Shichen with memory loss in a city and managed to coerce him back to Paris to take over the CEO position so that Mo Shiqian can move back to be with Chi Huan and he took back his CEO position for the Asia branch. He proposed to her with roses, a house and the diamond ring that she returned to him before. She asked who taught him this romantic antic, Feng Xing? And he replied that she mentioned it before. She actually mentioned it 5 years ago when he asked her to marry him.
• One of my favorite scene is Chi Huan visiting him in Paris during their LDR and went to his house where he lived with his pseudo-wife in Paris a few months after the divorce, moving out. His room hanged a huge poster of her that stunned her when she opened the door, his study had multiple photoframes of her solo shots and the wedding ring from the past.
• The remaining chapters after 558 deals with Mo Shichen and his wife's relationship.

There are too many happenings in the story so I did not mention some of it (eg. Chi Huan & Chu Xi teaming up to gamble against opponent gang and killing it). It is a very intense story filled with realism, dilemma and extremely heart-wrenching. I really enjoyed the story flow and seeing the character interactions (especially dissing and making others speechless). In fact, I doubt I will find another story I will appreciate as much as this, if only the author was willing to write more chapters.

gangsters are not gentlemen and broken family twisted childhood person can't be understanding and kind in nature. First mishap was indeed forced and later when sober, were forced too, but it is mentioned later she was only half hearted about saying no, and when she didn't wanted it to happen he did not forced her. As the story moved forward ML's character does grow from a **** to a bit understanding (he has low EQ) And till now the character that most developed is ML's. I have love-hated reading experience till now and I am foreseeing lots of teary scenarios on the horizon.
