Lin Ran was reborn as a baby in a world of beast tamers. His parents ran a farm, and he had a pair of twin sisters.

By obtaining the Beast Tamer King System, he could gain different abilities by completing title tasks. From the moment he unlocked the [Pet Beast Friend], he could assign different titles to specified pet beasts.

Assigning [Rapid Growth] to the Purple Wood Vine allowed his not-so-wealthy family to gain the capital to rise. Assigning [Lady Killer] to the Pink Sheep attracted countless wealthy women who spent money lavishly.

Assigning [Multi-tasker] to the Whirlwind Dog, it could balance a round pot on its head, step on iron wheels, and carry a chubby baby on its back.

Assigning…

Growing up in a simple yet intense daily life, Lin Ran discovered that he was becoming increasingly powerful.

All of this was due to his unwavering belief: never miss a single Title Task!

Grind, that’s the way to go!

Characters: As of 100 chapters, there still aren't any notable characters. Lin Ran, the MC, doesn't have any goals or motivations, he just tries to "level up" his titles. His family are only interacted with as a way to gain titles, we still know nothing about his dad even though he's been present the entire time. His pet beasts don't really have personalities, they have likes that make them useful for title requirements. When he began interacting with the Pet Alliance, the characters didn't really matter at all. When it... more>> was time to start interacting with the world, he did so through a virtual reality world so he was interacting with NPCs and not speaking to anyone real. This novel doesn't have any characterization at all.

Plot: There is none. Lin Ran wants to gain titles to be the strongest, without any motivation as to why. The story entirely moves from system driven event to event and then moves on without anything really changing. He doesn't experience any adversity at all. Lin Ran isn't even a year old and he's stronger than most adults due to his titles. He has dozens of awards / abilities / pet beasts that individually would make him one of the world's strongest but he keeps acquiring new ones. Gaining a "world defying ability" means nothing when it's "world defying ability #8".

The story is like junk food. It's not filling or doing anything. You will never recommend anyone read this. But it's a way to waste time, even if it's not great at that either. <<less

I am not the greatest fan of systems and using them to massively simplify power progression and world building.

But here it works. Because:

Positive feedback loop: The system is strong and the cause of major progression but the benefits gained directly from the system are tiny compared to the feedback from using the system to help others (pets, plants, family...) to progress. Growing together is just more engaging.

Milestones: Attributes will grow, stats will rise but really only certain milestones are important and that is what matters most and as such is... more>> the focus of the story.

Limits: The system is set in such a way that growth is limited if one stays on the same path or interacts only with the system. It seemingly doesn't matter in which direction, but branching out is key to progression. Never once did I get the feeling that staying put and just working hard at something would be much better risk reward.

Soft-Power: Until now all growth is in a direction that either supports pets or others. While there are a few defensive buffs, not one so far is usefull for aggression. This way the pets stay important and aren't supplanted by the MC or system.

5 stars because I want others to read and learn how systems can be OP but still not detract from the story. <<less

It's pretty much a slice of life grind simulator, and is written like korean farm novels. If you read the tags and the description you would know what to expect.

The plot mainly revolves around the MC growing up and enhancing his strength and farm, gaining titles, and solving complications that block his progress on those, as where this would lead the novel, we can only hope for the best.

Don't expect grand face slapping, move names shouting extravaganza in this one. Or at least not yet as the pace seems slow... more>> as most slice of life novels.

It's a quiet, nice leisure read. And I hope it stays that way with adventures sprinkled here and there and not become a typical cn cliche.

EDIT: ch 122 5star down graded to two stars

If at the start it was a leisure read of grinding titles using them, then something happens gets a title, a perfect mix of that, by now it's just become a text wall of garbage, like this this title does that that title does this, and it leads to this then another more of useless text wall, it's not that fun to read anymore, maybe 1-2 chapters in 20+ has something good in it. It's so sad to read it at this point, like chore you just want to skip hoping there's something fun somewhere in between like it used to. <<less

I'm confused by the high rating on this one. The first 8ish chapters are interesting as the story is set up, but then it just... grinds to a halt. The rest of the story is just system messages and the MC explaining them. There still isn't a plot and none of the characters have any character.

All that happens is he somewhat improves his family's living situation. Maybe this one is just a slow starter and the story picks up later, but as of now it's incredibly boring. I thought I... more>> finally found a decent Chinese novel, so this is disappointing.

The translation is good, the novel is not. <<less
