I'm gonna summarize what happens to the offspring, since they are what I came here to read: And well, just read this if you dont wanna wait for all the drama.
Well. Let me tell you about the 11 snake children.
MC rejected them at first as he was afraid of snakes.
He accidentally threw them into a pile of snow and panic when he couldnt find them.
He found them but were still a bit afraid of snakes. He got close to them.
The seme threw them in a rushing river.
MC slapped him for throwing away his children. And was upset. He wanted to find them but the ML made him bedridden for days to stop him.
ML helped find them when MC clarified that he just wants to know where they lived and wont live with them forever.
3 came back out of 11.
They were constantly afraid of their father and it was written a few times that he'd eat or kill them if it weren't for the MC.
2 were then eaten by an ape monster.
One was left and was turned into a human.
The only reason he was allowed to live with them was because he proved his worth in the ML's eyes that he could take care of his mom when the ML goes hunting.
Then MC gave birth to a female son.
This removes his ability to have any more offspring.
This depressed the MC for a while as he wanted more snake kids to make up for the loss he felt when 2 of them died to protect him, and the rest were thrown away by their father.
After that, they shifted to a tribe.
2 more snake children came back, one was blinded by a bird and the other was caring for its blinded brother.
MC cried.
Their human brother weren't close to them. Nor was their younger female brother. Their dad... didnt want them. MC slowly felt detached to them. The tribe found out and refused them. The snakes did left by themselves after a while, but lived in the forest nearby. MC visits then once a month.
Some of them came back over the years and lived outside the tribe. The others never turned human, nor were they given any indication that they have a name other than "small snake".
...
The snake that turned to a human was given a name called guo guo (fruit)
He got together with a male mermaid, they had 15 kids. 5 mermaids and 10 snakes.
This couple raised their kids properly and lovingly and didnt bloody threw them away.
Guo guo was so much kinder and lovelier to his kids than his dad ever was with him. (Who wanted to kick his son and his new family out the moment they came back with grandkids.) The ML is kinda like a grunpy grandad that didnt mellow with age.
He was hardly mentioned in the extras.
Most of the snakes turned into half snake half human, not pure humans.
The couple was sad but decided it was better than them being a snake forever.
The reason that they could turn into half human snakes was due to their mermaid blood. So they were thankful for that.
...
MC's female son (leaf) got together with 3 wolves.
They were the kids of the other transmigrator.
They got together when they were drunk. The 3 wolves stole their mom's wine.
When they were married MC was visibly upset. Understabdably, since it was weird that his son got 3 husbands.
Personally did not like their relationship.
The degree of how much Leaf likes them was made ambiguos.
...
All the s*x was non-con by every single couple.
The semes just don't understand that their bottoms are in pain.
...
The seme's an a**hole.
He hates living with his kids but relented to live in a tribe because of his female son.
He made sure that MC couldn't be fluent in the beast language and the only reason he could speak some was because the transmigrator taught him the language when they did things together. ML refuses to teach him any.
He cares for his female son much much much more than his snake kids.
Like he actually takes care of him and not kick him shortly after his birth like he did with the snakes.
He's a yandere. Possessive, cruel, manipulative etc.
MC... never really tries to make the ML understand his point of view, and just relents to the ML's yandere ways. Unless it was about his kids. like.. not to kick his kids and grandkids out.
I liked the world building and I have to say that at the beginning all the violence, the dub-con and non-con didn’t face me, after all I have being reading manga, manhua, and bl novels for several years and you kind of go with it, after all is another world and the morality is different and you just let it go, it is just a history and sometimes is kind of hot (I am very, very rotten...)
But, because I liked the world building and the author style I read all of her (I assume is a her) novels and... she has a thing with dub-con and non-con.
The ML of this particular novel is the scummiest one... hard to believe, the most violent and the coldest.
So, when you compare it in retrospective, when you read it again it gets kind of unbearable.
2. Forced Female Orc: this one
3. Spring of Cannon Fodder 炮灰攻的春天
- temporal jump-
4. My husband is a plant 我的老公是植物
5. A snake's way to find his wife 一条蛇的寻妻路
6. Daily Survival in the Last Days 末世之求生日常 (末世毒蛇) They are pretty easy to read in MTL’ed they share a common world, and they are a good read.
But my favorite one is the third one, and Yanze is the ML.
So, when I read this novel again I couldn’t but to dislike the MC and ML who are such scumbags to each other and so... hard on poor yanze. That yes didn’t behave well in this particular history, and yes it was kind of evil, but it was mostly misunderstandings, different world views after all.
