Against his own will, Ryo was dragged into the “A” ranks of his middle school, leading a school life he did not choose. Now entering high school, he vows to stay out of the limelight, and cement himself as part of the “B” ranks. He just wants to live a peaceful and uneventful school life.

One evening after school, he runs into a scene of three delinquents surrounding a girl. He was hoping he wouldn’t have to intervene, but the girl was in desperate need of help. The girl he just saved happened to be the prettiest girl of his high school, and now she wants to repay him for saving her. Ryo now must take all measures to not attract the attention of the rest of the school to stay in the “B” ranks.

I could not continue reading because of how annoying the female lead and her best friend are. The MC wants to keep a low profile, but the two girls keep harassing the MC, no matter how many times the MC tells them that he does not want to associate with them. If the gender was switched between the three characters, the guys would be considered jerks that are unable to take a hint. However, since it is the females doing the pestering, some readers might think it is cute, which... more>> is not, because it is still harassment. The MC is also at fault because he whines about the situation, but does try to use more extreme methods to prevent the situation. <<less

The MC just doesn't want trouble, but as every Japanese MC ever he attracts trouble like the plague attracts death.

Honestly I wish he'd just give up and become popular again (he is wasting his highschool experience), but hey... It's not my life. Very slice of life, the main girl is just --

Just read. *Sighs*

I don't even know how to respond to this, oh wait, I do. It seriously pisses me off when people force others, like the MC. And it isn't even because of he is weak physically, its more or less emotionally. So when the female lead's friends (and her also, mind you) force him into scenarios, it's very frustrating to read. It has cute developments here and there, but to get to point a to b is downright, complete manipulation from the females. Are you trying to say something about women?

I... more>> know I've only read up to chapter 17, but if the novel continues to be like this, I guess it will be a gem lost. In conclusion, I will give it 3 stars. 2-soley for the mc'stats and ability to endure females. 1-plot (ish)

Once it progresses more in chapters, I may return to it to see how it turns out. Otherwise, I may puke blood if I read more. <<less

I thought the plot sounds interesting so I began reading it but when I read further, I started to get really annoyed with the heroine and her best friend. The MC wants to stay undercover but instead of respecting that, the 2 females starts pestering him all the time. It became very obvious in the story that the 2 girls are stalking the MC with ulterior motives so it makes it hard to like the heroine.
Spoiler

Plus the MC is also not being firm with continuing as a B grade boy. His mind says he wants to hide from view but the actions he takes show otherwise where he do things the opposite intentionally

[collapse]

I actually like the plot but somehow the bad character of the heroine plus best friend makes the story lousy.

If you want a better story with similar plot of hiding, try iris zero. It's a manga where although the MC become known because of the heroine, in that story, at least the heroine is likable unlike here where you just can't help but dislike the type of heroine.

The male lead wants to keep a low profile but will continue to compromise this because he can't say no to pretty women... Tags should be naive male lead and manipulative female lead.

The male lead is basically a guy who doesn't want to be judged by his looks and talents, but is unable to walk away from the female lead due to her looks. While the female lead is super cute and.... yeah that's about it. I'm really not expecting much character development from the female lead, since I'm assuming... more>> the male lead will be dragged out of his shell and eventually overcome his trauma throughout the story.

The tone of the story is a little abrupt to give it a cutesy tone, but it doesn't really flow as well in translation, while how tolerable the novel is really depends on your mood before you start it. If you're in a good mood, it's okay, otherwise, just walk away.

Some of you might like it, some of you might not, but for me, it's not a story I'd follow too closely. For those of you who do, there's a manga for it if you're interested. <<less

Sweet and Fresh Romances

Spoiler

There are complaints, the heroine is forcing MC, well that's because her friend who manipulated it, and somehow she admitted that kind of method to approach and contact MC, It's girl works that suitable for low-profile MC who hate to be known and ending his peaceful, but colorless high school life.

In short the cons maybe on MC who low-profile, tho OP in real life.

The MC, who wants to stay in group B is reached by the FL and her two friends because the ML saved the FL from a bunch of gangstars, to show "gratitude" to ML's kindness. It is kinda manipulative but at least it shows straightforwardness that the FL and her friends want to be friends with the ML.

However for me it went downhill ... more>>
Spoiler

when in C5, on the back road at school, the FL's friends lift FL's school skirt and ML sees it, it is portrayed as "gratitude" from FL's friends. I don't know about you all but this is not acceptable at all. I pity the ML being forced like this..

[collapse]

So I realized that this is a novel with forcing people to be friends and to be influenced... out of their comfort privacy in a way.

I don't recommend it, 1 star for translation+ 1 for ML.

Good day. <<less

Well at first it was interesting and not your typical story, but after reading chapter 19, it all went down. Its a bit disappointing that with just one chapter it became your typical gangsta story as its all the same MC wc loves violence then meets a girl he likes and so on.

Oh well still a good read until chapter 18.

Reviewed at 20 chapters, rated 4.

B Group no Shounen is one feel-good story that’ll make us hospitalized because of diabetes and still begging for more. The MC’s past was a bit of mystery and probably involved some trauma. Thus, he kept low profile at school in order not to attract attention... till one day the school beauty decided to get close to him, dragged him to cheesy sweet moments and brought along many complications.

The characters are cliche for a Japanese novel... probably (can’t say for sure because the mystery’s still... more>> ongoing), but the writings are good, the pacing is steady, and readers can easily identify themselves with the casts. Also, it is quite a rare one; I couldn’t even remember when was the last time I read non-yaoi romance novel with male MC. Really like this. <<less

Nice, quick story to knock out an hour or two. MC saves a girl. The girl, being earnest (and developing a crush), wants to repay him (and talk to him). With the help of her scheming friend, she and the MC gradually become closer.

Sadly, it's short so the pacing of the story might seem a little fast, and the love progression might be a bit underdeveloped, but it's a nice and simple love story if you just want to veg out for a bit.

Main guy who doesn't want to catch too much attention from his surroundings saves one of the most popular girls in his school and she falls in love.

Typical plot but something I definitely enjoyed reading even with just the 20 chapters translated. Translation wasn't that great but I take what I can get. The main guy is definitely an interesting character and he's a cool person too. At the very least, you won't have to follow a pathetic guy around in this story.

I'm not much for romance centered stories but... more>> if this ever gets an official English license, I'll be buying those d*mn books.

Check it out if you want something light hearted with a mix of romance. <<less

I really enjoyed this story a lot!... If it wasn't for the heroine as many people have pointed out.
For me, I just think someone else should have been the heroine. I'm pretty fine with the MC as all the parts I wasn't quite happy about with him occurred due to the heroine. But I found she only annoyed me towards the end of the translated chapters as at first I thought she was quite cute too.

Other things that didn't sit too well was how fast the romance progressed and... more>> how the OPness of the MC isn't utilised well.

Good things about this were that the comedy in it was good and the romance scenes were written well. If you like a good romance I suggest checking this out as the scenes are quite sweet and you might like this more than I did.

Otherwise it was an enjoyable read but I don't think I will pick it up again even if it gets translated again. <<less
