I don't totally agree with @meow4meow. Everyone has their own opinion but it is different when one brought up a false information just because he/she couldn't understand or didn't read well the novel. 1. I agree with "if you can't take care of the child, don't adopt it". But it was explained in the novel that the ML grew up as an orphan. He grew up without parents til present so in his mind why can't others? He thought that he only needed toearn money for the MC. TAKE NOTE... more>> THAT ML IS ONLY HS GRADUATE. HE DIDN'T PLAN TO LIVE IN A MESSY WORLD (and even planned to leave) BUT (due to unfortunate event) STILL LIVED UNDERGROUND TO EARN A LOT JUST FOR THE SON Of HIS FRIEND. 2. I think the reader didn't understand the novel. Everything is explained well ? About the drunk director, MC was only entangled when MC saved his friend. At first He didn't know that the drink has drug. Eventhough has a hunch, he didn't know when will it happen and he thought he could escape (which he escaped but went back to find and save his friend). He didn't push away the director since he didn't want to offend him. Remember during that time MC already cut off ties with ML. With no background and money and new in entertainment industry, he could not offend the director.

The female actress who drugged the MC only rely on the entertainment company owner so definitely she couldn't start anything soon and waited for the signal of that owner before executing her plans. Besides she needed to finish their shooting first. For those who are an avid reader of novel containing movie entertainment, actors and actresses are prevented to involve in scandals before the release of movie/series; they need to sign a contract about that.

3. The MC didn't volunteer. He liked the ML. It was foreshadowed and even mentioned in MC thoughts afterwards, saying that if he only saw the MC as relative should he be doing all those things with him? He had a second thoughts since the ML is the adoptive father. I EVEN LIKE HOW THE MC RESOLVED HIS FEELINGS SOON SINCE CONSIDERING THE SHORT TIME THE MC AND ML HAVE AS FATHER AND SON, THERE HAS A VERY LITTLE TIME AND THINGS TO TIE AND CONSIDER THEMSELVES AS RELATIVES. And due to psychological shadow after killing and being killed in a distant country by yourself (since he didn't know that the ML went after him to rescue), he gave into his instinct.

I hope that before someone give a rating, she should read carefully the novel and not just skim through and comment. Since most of what you say is ungrounded. -Sigh- <<less

First, I'm going to applaud the author's wonderful writing for descriptions. The way the author wrote the ML's and the the Mc's suffocating feelings took my breath away. Props to the translator for showcasing it too UwU.

Now, I personally adore the crime, thriller, and horror genre and this novel with a little bit of all these elements just took my heart. Especially when there's papapa involved.

Additionally, It's difficult finding a BL novel with dark and dangerous elements. The closests ones I've seen that have somewhat met my expectations is, "Kill... more>> the Lights", "Tattoo", and "Breaking through the Clouds", but this novel has much better depictions of gore.

However, I couldn't help the slight disappointment I felt as I continued to read on.

The plot begins with our MC who rebirths into an adoptive son who has committed su*cide because of his unrequited feelings for his adoptive father.

The first couple of chapters start out really strong which hooks the reader hard... but as the story continues it just... it needed more.

The emotional entanglement between the MC and ML was missing something. I don't know what it was missing but the first couple of chapters had a huge impact on me and then the next you know is that the MC moves back in.

Like... what? Did I miss something?

However, given that this novel is 70 chapters long it's to be expected.

Despite, the dark undertones and the suffocating air the text shows, it transforms into something simple and fluffy.

I can't say that this didn't dissapoint me. I was really expecting a great emotional battle due to both the ML and Mc's identities in addition to the MC's determination to accomplish his dream.

However, I did enjoy it because there was enough action and smut for the given chapters.

And the authors superb writing descriptions sold me. They have a way with painting a picture with words.

It's your choice if you want to read it and the tags are there for a reason. But as I said, it gets fluffy later on and those depictions fade away. *sigh*

I think it's quite good overall, but it's not a masterpiece even if you ignore its flaws. (Or what I perceive as flaws)

It's a story of a criminal underworld first and foremost, with acting playing second fiddle. I believe this benefits the novel overall, others may disagree. The acting seems to be for showing the MC's character growth compared to his last life, and for side characters/friends.

It's the typical transmigrating MC attracting the ML due to his changed temperament. I thought it was refreshing, however, in that the MC... more>> doesn't particularly mind that he and the ML belong to a criminal hegemony. It's not a novel in which the ML and his criminal group are trying to reform so they're more acceptable to society, which you may have read in novels before. It's a black group through-out, and that doesn't change. Whilst the MC never really "joins" the group per-say, he is influenced by it. He's not some naive fool that's always saved by the ML; he actually helps save him twice.

The criminal underworld setting also comes with melodramatic scenarios and little coincidences, which brought my rating down overall. However it wasn't enough to bring the novel down a whole lot.

It was an enjoyable and a relatively quick read. My rating is... above 4 but probably lower than 4.5? Real exact.
There's also some smutty parts at chapter 50, first part of 51, and chapter 57... which may have increased the score a bit, if I'm honest. <<less

Highly recommended!!! A well written novel. (I wish there were more chapters in the middle of the plot and extra chapters) this novel will make you smile and cry at the same time. It doesn't have too much drama nor r*pe. Though some may contain gory scenes, it's not really gory (for me).

I like the plot and characters. Particularly, the decisiveness of MC, when the attempted r*pe from ML happened, he used his last ounce of strength to escape. Also, when the MC is confused about his feelings it only... more>> took 2 chapters to resolve the issue.

I didn't expect the side couples swap. The BE is for the side chara

I recommend this for those who like entertainment with slightly dark undertone. If you're not into attempted r*pe, gory or tragedy (for side characters only since HE for MC and ML) don't read instead of giving a low rating since no one forces you to read.

So far I'm satisfied with the story ?

It is well-written and every action and consequences is eventually explained.

I wish for more movie scenes though ??But this is not the focused of the novel. It mainly the MC's life after transmigration and his interaction with other characters.

The se* scenes and the old butler are the only two things I like about the novel. The rest was meh.

1) The body su an took over was a troubled 19 years old kid. He took drugs, had an unhealthy obsession with his adoptive father, but no one thought he needed help. In fact they were all kind of disgusted with him. The MC seems to think that the ML did enough by just taking him in and giving him money. What about the fact that he literally had no... more>> one on his side, was surrounded by people that knew he was not right but ignored him until he committed su*cide. Like if you dont actually plan on taking care of a kid dont fuc**** take him in to begin with. The ML could have given him to a family that actually wanted a kid. And you could say that the ML probably didnt know how to be a good father. That claim got squashed when the MC risked his life to save the ml, only then did the ML start treating him like family. Like wth, you're telling me that if the original su an did not volunteer to take a bullet or die for you he wouldn't be accepted, like ever. That is just messed up.

2) Its true, MC did save ml, and ML did save MC. However, my problem is with how MC got in trouble and why. The first time he just had to help a drunk director to his bed. Like wth, they were at a party anyone could have did that, why did it have to be him. And mind you, he's 26 years old and has been in the acting profession for a long time, so I kinda thought he knew it was a bad idea. But maybe I thought too much, cause he didn't. The second time one of the female leads from anothe5 company apparently could have it out for him. He was warned beforehand, I'm not really sure why they knew she was going to go after him. She didnt do anything for a while until they left the country. MC was caught off guard, s*upid right, considering that then would have been her only chance to get at him. And you wanna know why? It's because she's obsessed with ml. Not one lick of sense people. She saw ML pick him up from work and thought to herself I've gotta kill that kid??. What.

3) MC was a straight 26 years old man that volunteered to sleep with his adoptive father to keep him warm?? Also asked ML to come to a costume party?? Opened the door naked for ml?? Did not seem to be averse to any intimacy between them??? Even though he claimed that it was immoral for them to be in that relationship, the next second he would be over it, so it didn't really seem like he cared all that much.

And that's just some of the stuff I find really nonsensical. This book is not worth the read. <<less

Really heartfelt & touching BL drama novel.

It has some action scenes with MC personally struggling to defend himself & his lover.

MC is also quite funny sometimes. Adds a few good laughs here and there. Like icing on a cake.

Overall, a nice bl rebirth story. The ending left me sweetly satisfied. ^_^

What first attracted me to this story is that it is pretty well written, props to the author and the TL. Which is both the reason as to why I MTLed it up to c36 before I dropped it and the reason why it's getting 2 instead of only 1 star. But sadly besides the writing style there wasn't much I liked about this story.

First of all, okay I don't like tragedy and am totally not into r*pe (or attempted) as well as (not reaaally a spoiler bc it's obvious... more>> who the ML is but~)

Asides from that if you want to read the novel because it's an entertainment type novel, like me, i'd say no, don't do it. Because it isn't really the focus of the story (although the synopsis might make it seem that way). It just skips over interesting bits like their whole debut through a TV program and instead focuses on the MC's relationship with the ML. (Which would be fine, I found the fast-paced parts quite refreshing at first, if i'd like the ML).

Tbh the characters in this novel are a mess. The person MC gets reborn as is really just the normal cannon fodder type, but I really feel pity for him more than anything, but the original only got despised by his adoptive father. The adoptive father/MC is an as*hole and there's nothing likable about him.

As soon as MC wakes up in his new body his father tries to r*pe him! YES. and why you might ask? Because the original was attracted to his adoptive father. Imagine a pubescent kid, an age where being sexually and otherwise confused is normal, feeling weird and shameful because he's sexually attracted to his incredibly handsome adoptive father. Weird, sure, but everything the kid does is understandable, since he also received no education nor love from his adoptive father. That's why I pity the kid. But what does the adoptive father do? Well, finding out that the kid has wet dreams about him, he gets disgusted and after an attempted su*cide of the kid he TRIES. TO. r*pe. HIM....

That mess aside, that side characters and MC himself aren't very good either. All the characters' personalities, aside from being weak or not really fleshed out are inconsistent. Esp. the MC, I feel like his character isn't really thought through, like at all. He's always described as a kitten or no - more like a panther or leopard or whatever, not sure what the author tried to achieve with that, other than being weirdly sexual, but that's really close to the only characteristica the MC gets. The other side characters immediately get set up (really obviously) with a partner themselves for no particular reason, which makes it even more messy.

Tbh the only thing I wished for in this story after I read up to chapter 36 is that the father and son get together and form a family, and no, not in the romantic or in the s*xual way, but in the normal father and adopted son way.

To sum it up, it's great at the very beginning, and then the greatness just crumbles bit by bit as the story progresses. There's a lot of thrill and nice, depictions of actual human nature and emotions in our MC. We see struggles and actual emotions like fear, cowardliness, and inferiority. But then, so many of the conflicts either are solved or disappear in a blink of an eye, making you go "huh?" And then to top it off, the ending is abrupt. Right when the story seemed to be... more>> picking back up due to an emotional event, it just cut off, leaving me just sitting here, going "are you kidding me?" So now I'm ranting off on a review. But—because there is a but—the author has potential in her writing. She has a vivid writing style and good themes and ideas (that just need to be executed correctly) that can develop with more practice, so I hope she continues releasing more novels. <<less

Love it. Love it. Love it! Important things must be said three times.

Ok. This novel is well written. I like the way the author played with our emotion. You can see mc's point of view on how he feels after rebirth. It was well expressed by the author. His fear, joy, determination and etc, etc. I love MC and ml. Love their dynamics but just felt that their love is too sudden. Otherwise, it is superb especially the smutty scenes. Not all authors can make readers fell embarassed on behalf... more>> of the protagonist. I clearly felt all that when the MC interact with ml. LOL! I also liked how each character can influence or make a difference in others life. It's so touching. <<less

It’s a nice well written novel for the most part. The starting chapters were very interesting and got me hooked but as I read on it became less interesting and the ending was underwhelming. I think the author was in a hurry to finish the novel as most of the fun parts happened at the middle then the latter half of the novel was just about the mc’s mostly smooth rise to success. The ending was so out of the blue that I was like wait what? It’s over?
I wanted to know more about the side characters but since this is a relatively short novel I guess there was no time for that. I was also really invested in the side pairing but was caught off guard by the switch. Also as some reviewers pointed out, the love is too sudden. However I still enjoyed it and recommend it if you’re into rebirth with underground/mafia and entertainment themes.
