Its a happy ending.

In the end the MC and ML will get married and she forgave the ML

My dark opinion, I can't help but sometimes wish the MC would have killed herself.

I know that the Male lead was not at fault, and if I was in his shoes I would have probably done that. But I wish MC had killed herself.

Spoiler

MC father was accused wrongly and then he was killed by the lord/ML dad. Then MC mother also dies after a month because of seeing her husband beheading and then MC has to do all sorts of stuff to survive, and when she finally gets the chance for revenge. It ends up that the original people who framed her dad is dead, the young lord/ML explain it to her.

[collapse]

Well I guess if I was in MC shoes I might have also follow the same path as her, but I can't help but feel bitter about it.

Overall it's a great story, the lesson behind this story is good as well. <<less

I cried from the first chapter.

It's been a long time since I've cried while reading a light novel.

The story is filled of emotions, and while it is wonderful to let go of the hatred, and live on...

... more>> As expected, I am more bitter than the main character herself.

I can't turn back time, but with what the young lord has revealed, I can't forgive everything and everyone and live happily ever after either.

I know no one will be happy if I chose that path, but I would rather bear it and live incompletely. I shall serve as the living testament of their injustice.

He knew he could've tried to save her father and speak up, but he let his doubts get the best of him, even if this was the very man who had dedicated his life for him and declared himself innocent.

I don't want his head. I don't want his life. Rather, I don't want him at all. He is less guilty than the criminal, his father, and the people who beheaded her father, but there is no way I could live in the same space where he is. I want him to remember all that and bear it with her, knowing that he did not speak up, and she could not speak up. Remembering it and tacking that guilt on his forehead for the rest of his life should be enough, since the actual criminals are gone, and I wouldn't mind dying there, too. I'm going to make him, make all of them wish they hadn't killed my father, even those who are already dead should see us and see what they have done.

Hahahaha, got kinda dark, didn't I? That was a pretty bad end in my mind, if I say so myself.

Nevertheless, it certainly is different compared to the many chinese novels where the evildoers always get punished and revenge is exacted up until the end.

I do get the message they were trying to convey, but this is me under the influence of my emotions, which this short story splendidly brought out. Now that I have eaten, calmed down and thought about it, I would say that it is a beautiful, happy ending, but not one that would satisfy me, surprisingly, who is a lover of happy ends. <<less

aye---I'm back with another review! Back to fighting against the one star votes, I am! I mean, I just read the whole thing. Yes, it's not fantastic, but it's not one star level bad?? Come on??? It's an acceptable story! The story flowed normally, and my heart hurt for the heroine, but I'm glad that she ended up with that guy. I think if it was longer and we could have more of the main couple, it would be cuter and more fluff, but oh well---

the lesson in the story... more>> is good, let go of your hatred and live happily, aye? I don't think that's a spoiler lol <<less

I can't hate it, but I can't love it either. Yeah, I get it, sometimes, no matter what you do, no matter how bitter it is, you just can't do anything. Revenge on the perpetrator (s) is just not possible. So, yeah, I get it why the MC would want to die. I think I would feel the same way too had I been in the same situation. The difference is she could find the courage and strength to throw away the bitterness, try to continue her life and be... more>> happy, with the son of the killer no less. But still... I hate the ending where the perpetrator (s) died without being brought to justice. The ending is very realistic anyhow but still... grrr... I guess that's why I could never be the main character or the heroine even if it's possible. I'm too vengeful and stubborn : ( <<less
