Apocalyptic Rebirth: Earth’s Vast Changes

As a mad researcher in a tattered white coat activated the self-destruction device, Qin Luo knew that this time, there was no escape.

He was well aware of the destructive power of the self-destruction device.

Even if he is genetically inborn with an independent space, it is impossible to use the power of his space to resolve against such a terrible explosion.

His only end would be a torn space and the crushed bones.

On an unrecognizable earth rampant with zombies and mutant creatures, this end is good.

Death is far better than living…

With a skull splitting headache he opened his eyes to find himself reborn in the year before the apocalypse happened.

Is this a joke!!!

Is this a chance for him to be prepared to combat the apocalypse?

Is God not satisfied with all the bitterness he had went through and would enjoy watching him suffer once more?

Aunt Liu turned around when she heard Qin Luo’s call. Her face paled and she cried out, “Ah, Xiao Luo you are bleeding... Grandpa how could you hit him with the wok.”

“Tv – I just imitated what I saw on the tv, but why does Qin Luo not have stars circling his head?” Grandpa said with a face full of grievances as he hid the wok behind him

Just for this, I will rate this story a 10/10

It's a bit predictable. I like the concept of including multiple fantasy elements like vampires, werewolves, zombies, ability users, etc. However, it was a bit rushed and too cut and dry. Don't expect complicated schemes, detailed rescue plans and establishment of base. They are pretty much set up in a couple of chapters. The whole book could be double the length tbh and have more meat to it because the concept is really so good. It's an ok read. I wanted to give it a 3 but I really liked... more>> the innovative concept. I haven't read any apocalyptic book with so many fantasy elements. It's a pity it was so short and rushed.

I'm going to rant a little, beware. MC is by no means useless. He's got a mature space, is capable of creating space artifacts, has advanced healing, is very caring, is a badass fighter among humans, is fatally attractive to pets - pretty much a stellar human. I have zero problems with his character setting. FYI, it's just some of the ways things turned out, are issues I have with the packaging of the author.

One thing that made me uncomfortable is... Ok, this is a bit hard to classify. The MC is clearly soft hearted and tries to assemble the team from his previous life ahead of time. However, he meets the boss (ML) of the team and saves him first. I get that ML has not been polished by the apocalypse and hasn't experienced hardship and become cold and efficient. I also get that MC doesn't want him to be lonely and stuff. However, ML was the one who created the Saviors Alliance in his previous life. MC is saving everyone and started the Saviors alliance in this life. It makes me uncomfortable because it feels like he's replacing him. And sometimes he complains about how ML is so innocent now. It was actually very funny at first. MC is really very helpless in this case. But, MC doesn't share what he knows about ZO institute. He doesn't really try to train ML or give him opportunity to grow in the first 40 chapters. That's nearly half the book! Even when ML believes him about surviving the apocalypse for 10 years, he doesn't tell him about ML being the one who created the Saviors Alliance. This part makes me very uncomfortable. It's a bit too manipulative for me. Like, there's no reason mentioned for not sharing. He's taking credit for something that he's doing mainly for selfish reasons. All of the teammates are grateful to him for saving their lives and he doesn't do it for pure reasons either. He's not a bad person; he genuinely cares for them. I just find this very pretentious. ML in the last life is the one who must've worked very hard to establish the organization and this life, MC is basically taking shortcuts off of this and not even giving ML the opportunity to lead or grow. Also, this is not entirely MC's fault. ML deliberately behaves like a little puppy to eat tofu all the time. Hahaha. So it's just something that niggled me for a while, when I was reading. But, the MC is a very caring person though. And all of the teammates are happier because of these changes and they are more like a family than a team. So I don't hate it. It just made me hella uncomfortable. However, he does divulge everything later to ML. I'm not sure the others know ML is the one who saved them in the past life either. So there you go - packaging issue number 1.

EDIT: Near the last 10 chapters or so, we find out the others do know ML was the one who started the Saviors alliance. Just, why wasn't there a scene about it? I'm sure I wouldn't be ranting here if there was.

Also, like, a lot of the things are done by the team members. Tong Wei for example created this awesome survival book that could be sent out to the world through a satellite and set up a help channel. But when they rescue someone, he was very grateful and said when he received message from MC, they were very hopeful. rolls eyes Attribute it to being grateful to Saviors Alliance and I wouldn't be so nauseated? The content came from the MC. It's not wrong to be partly grateful to him. It's just... at this current point in time, MC is really the only one qualified to lead and it's even logical to have him as the face of the organization to hide traces of ML from the ZO institute. However, the author chose the most ball-aching way to package this. The main fighting force is the ML, the main technical force is another genius kid, even most of the strategies from the MC are taken from how the ML operated the organization in previous life but somehow, everyone is always grateful to MC. It just made me feel so... ugh. I don't even hate the MC. He is a good guy and he wants everyone to live in a safe world. I just wanted the author to find other ways to make him seem awesome like, for example, his stellar character, instead of attributing other people's contribution to him. So, as you can see, this really made me very uncomfortable. strangled laughter

I'm not putting this in spoilers because I didn't really give anything away in terms of plot. I'm just venting. The things I mentioned are stuff that are outlined in the first few chapters or things to be expected in an apocalypse rebirth novel. But if anyone thinks I gave too much away, then DM me. I'll reluctantly change this.

EDIT: The ball-aching reveal about the ball-aching packaging
Spoiler

Dear God! Apparently this whole time, everyone in Saviors' Alliance (not the high level staff) were underestimating the MC because he's usually kind when speaking and the ZO institute thought that ML was the leader behind the scenes and he was just the face because they're banging each other. So why wasn't I aware? The whole book, until the last 20 chapters was about how bloody everyone was grateful to MC and put him on a pedestal as the leader of the Alliance. Couldn't there be a better exposition? Gah! I'm sure if there was signs of this before, I'd even be ranting for the sake of MC here.

Coming to the yaoi part, they did have some smexy time! I really like vampire couples, so this is one point that satisfied me. And as for not having too many intimate scenes, the world was literally ending! It would be weird if they had a lot of time for romance.

Overall, it's just one of those books that I'm definitely not putting in my favorite pile but also, I'm not sad I read it? It was a 'read when you're bored' kind of book for me. Pretty meh. <<less

I really enjoyed reading this story! It was funny to see how different was the ML in the 2 lifetime. Once a big boss, once a big dog. I like how jealous he gets when the MC find new pets and try his best to get rid of them.

Hands down. One of the best apocalypse novel that I read.

It's not your typical apocalypse story where the main focus is fighting with zombies and mutated animals/ plants. Also, I really appreciate the translator kindly reminding the readers that it's not a typical apocalypse setting. It's involves vampires, werewolfs, and other hidden species, etc.

The story starts off with the above description, the MC gets reincarnated and then ... more>>

meeting the ML

[collapse]
oops, a spoiler haha. But yeah, it really starts from there and he meets his mates in advance and so on.

What I really liked is the ML's character growth, from a timid teenager to a capable leader. but my favourite is when he finally pushes down the MC and eat tofu *wiggles brows*

The MC is really OP as well, with his experience from the previous apocalypse, space power, weird charm with animals, luck value and capable lil brothers. I also like how firm and decisive he is and his leadership skills.

One thing that I don't like tho is that it's kind of a rush by the near the end of the story. Like around 80+ everything is like flashing to me haha tho maybe it's because mtl was hard to understand and I just skipped some parts lol.

But overall, it's really good. Different from your typical doomsday setting and a mix with vampires and other weird species makes it interesting. So if you're looking for a change of pace from the typical apocalypse/doomsday story, I highly recommend this to you. <<less

Started out really good and became a long monolog of fighting scenes.

The story started out as apocalypse with super natural elements. Besides zombies there are lots of mutants that were experiments by an research institution called ZO. ML is one of their experiments, a blend of human and blood clan (vampire). At first MC is getting prepared for the apocalypse and the story is progressing in a rather fast speed. When the apocalypse hits... the focus of this story changes from apocalypse to fighting ZO. The whole end of... more>> the world become a "fun background ". MCs alliance is growing and evolving in a speed that defies logic. They just come out with super technical toys and vaccines like it's nothing. It became so overpowered that I lost fun and interest.

I feel the characters are rather 2d. The writer introduced a lot of people but didn't evolve them. Someone "cute kids and pets" were thrown in but largely forgotten again. I hate that. It might be a personal preference but if you introduce someone or something as important, they should have a purpose in the end other than cute. I mean they had super powerful introductions and then nothing happened.

MC and ML are. Nothing more of less. I appreciate that MC tells about his rebirth rather early but I dislike how they started their relationship.

One thing that annoyed me a lot is that at some point the story becomes narration style. Basically while chapters where people are not speaking with each other. I do not like this kind of writing.

Basically the first part of this novel was good but it became increasingly boring. The mtl is easy readable. You can read this if you are really bored. <<less

The book has an interesting premise with the inclusion of vampires and werewolves along with the generic elemental powers in an apocalypse setting.

The problem is, the author rambles like an old man before he/she finally gets to the next point. I love all the little details added to the story but they are written into the story in such a burdensome manner that when you get to the next main point, all the explanations have left you mentally exhausted. Worse, some explanations are repeated though they have already been explained... more>> in earlier chapters. <<less

Apocalypse BL, Shounen Ai, Magical Space, Second chance at life BL, Second Chance, Rebirth BL, Vampire ML, Supernatural, ability users

⚠️ Warning human experimentation ⚠️ mention of r*pe ⚠️ canabalism

(It's not that bad tho)

... more>> The author is really creative with the mutant species.

I've never doubted my creativity till I read this😂 The author brought the Apocalypse BL to a new level! Upgraded level of human experimentation! Adding vampires and werewolves to the mix instead of just zombies (in fact the zombie element is even more lacking in presence than all the other creatures).

Only the first few chapters and a few other scattered chapters are about hoarding things into MCs space. Later the MC gives a lot of spaces to the rest of his team members so it's not mentioned as much.

Farming is not included in MCs space. Farming is only mentioned as soiless farming.

Kurundi (?) X Murphy's romance made me cry twice. Damn kurundi is so naive and will sacrifice everything just for his love. And both kurundi and Murphy are not at all like what they seem so don't hate too early!

Also it's not 3P! Murphy and Mo (Ink) are two entirely separate existences.
Spoiler

The Murphy that tries to take over Mo is just a shallow shadow of subconscious and not Murphy's actual consciousness. He's also not a split personality or anything. And he only appears to take over Mo's body that one time when he makes the one year agreement with kuruni. And he also tries to take over but is suppressed by Mo when they discover the spring in the dog camp place. Later Mo becomes more powerful so it's no problem

I read this on an untranslated site so the names may differ. <<less

I think this is an uncommon apocalypse novel. It combines the supernatural with science. It is also great because it has reasonable explations for certain events like the apocalypse.

I gave 4 stars because I like the twist at the end. Some events are expected or easily predicted but I did not expect how it was written.

PLOT:

This ended up being a pretty interesting read! The MC, Qin Luo, is a researcher that made it to ten years post the end of the world (the start of the apocalypse.) He sacrificed himself by throwing a bomb into his space in order to protect the life of his last living relative, Qin Ke.

Minor Spoilers: ... more>>
Spoiler

We find out later that MC is actually a freedom fighter of sorts. His nephew, Qin Ke, had been imprisoned by the ZO institute and experimented upon for having the space spatial abilities as him. As such, Qin Luo spent much of his previous life fighting against the institute in an effort to save nephew. By the way, the ML is an escapee from said institute and, in the previous timeline, had been their leader.

[collapse]

SETTING:

This is a Supernatural x Zombie Apocalypse setting. Mutants existed from the onset (evolved beings with inborn abilities, Vampires, Werewolves, Aliens, etc.) The research institute were the ones researching these anomalies.

The story begins as your average Zombie Apocalypse survival story, but the further you go, the more evident it is that the focus is the overarching conspiracy and their fight with the ZO institute.

CHARACTERS:

  • Qin Luo (MC) : He has inborn spatial abilities and, after surviving ten years into the apocalypse, is very hardy!
  • Mo (ML) :
    Spoiler

He is a vampire! Much more powerful than your average human. At the start of the story, he’s pretty innocent (as he only JUST escaped from the institute). That made his relationship dynamic with the MC quite cute.

    [collapse]
The characters are all done pretty well here! Everyone has a stable character setting with room for lots of growth.

RATING:

My rating for this is somewhere between 3.5-4 stars! Unfortunately, I couldn’t bare to finish it djdkdkdk the MTL is really hard to make sense of because there are tons of technical details that you miss out on. The thing I liked most about this novel is the worldbuilding, which is done in detail and very consistent. So, yeah, because the MTL makes it hard to enjoy those details, I ended up giving up on it T.T

Recommended for those looking for a different sort of apocalypse adventure~ I was hesitant about the dramatic settings in the beginning, but the author (up to the point I read) seemed to be doing a good job tying things together. <<less

Its a good story with new ideas and old mixed together. I lobe the MC and ML and most side characters are very cute, but after ch70 it lost my interest to MTL so I will wait for the translation.

I like it but it's pretty predictable,
Spoiler

What they do makes sense, forming an alliance to save the world is quite honorable but as people react is typical of a marry Sue world, they do not doubt anything or seem suspicious to them, it seems that none have different intentions and I know that is good because there will be no betrayal, but it takes the taste of life not to have these double-sided characters

I read this about a year ago but for some reason, I can't remember the end, though I remember the beginning very well and I know I read it all the way because some of the vampire parts of the story stuck with me even if nothing else did, (this is the only EoW story I've read that had vampires). I'll give it a three for now but might try rereading and review it again if it ever gets totally translated.
