Pros: Multiple varied strong female characters including MC, strong emphasis on family relations, creative apocalypse settings, minimal romance for MC, interesting system utilization, multiple "villains" get redemption arcs (yay!).

Cons: Way too many redundant paragraphs of food hoarding that seem to be AI generated to fill the word count (basically just listing names of dishes and delicacies), weird propaganda vibes at times (soldiers are awesome, protests are s*upid, Chinese government is efficient and on-top of things, etc), OP Mary Sue vibes that feel like lazy writing at times.

This is a... more>> decent read overall, despite some minor plot points that felt glossed over and forced. I'm referring to how easily she frequently convinces others to follow her lead without questioning simply by showing her powers to them (and somehow this has never backfired on her). And the minor characters just "know to not probe further." It feels lazy and one-dimensional to not explore all the different ways she could get others to do her bidding without resorting to "look I'm otherworldly and OP therefore follow me." As for the paragraphs of food listing, you can just scroll past most of it without glancing and you wouldn't miss much: the point is, MC hoards a lot. If you can get past the cons, this is a pretty good story that feels more nuanced than a lot of similar stories out there. The overarching plot beyond the self-contained transmigration worlds is also intriguing and keeps you on your toes.

So, yeah, read it if you are bored! <<less

This is so Good!!! I read the translation at first even just 3 chapters in, I'm in love... so I went and MTL'ed it

It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's definitely mine :D

I love hoarding in apocalypse novels, and the fact that the hoarding never ends, yet the MC doesn't just hoard, she cares as well, but she's not a holy mother either!

And the side characters OMG!!!! They're well defined, has their own story and, to me anyway, don't feel one-dimensional at all!

Spoiler

PLEASE! I can't believe they became Tower System's tasker and met again! And they're helping her, remembering her... god... I cried when it was revealed that one of them came back to the world they were originally from to help save her from being brainwashed and unable to return to her own world...

[collapse]

And the ML!!! It had 1-2 guesses, but I when the third candidate and the actual ML moment appear... I'll admit, I screamed in excitement, because I could totally see them working out and just... I love them so much!

P.s. This is not a super informative review, it's me showing my love to this novel! I don't write reviews, ever really so that's how much I love this novel! Please, give it a try! The MTL is not hard to read at all <<less

I really liked a lot of the story.

I liked the various apocalyptic backgrounds the author thought of and how she made each of them feel different and fleshed out. I loved how we’d get vignettes of ordinary people trying to survive in the end times dispersed throughout the story because from these we can really see the full range of the human condition. Some people are passive and easily swept away, some people immediately turn to anarchy and violence, and most are just trying to stay alive. There are a... more>> lot of morally grey and complex characters including the FL. I like that she is clearheaded and powerful but not cruel. She helps when she can but she doesn’t have a martyr complex.

That being said, where this story falls short is the ending because it feels open ended.
Spoiler

The author is kind of vague about what happens to the evil system, the system tower, and the FL’s friends. The ML doesn’t even get a body. I read some of the extras and it doesn’t seem to make anything clearer.

[collapse]
I feel like the author should’ve given us a little more bow knots to wrap things up neatly. Also, there is very little romance in the novel so if you’re looking for fluff it’s not here. I like the ML enough but I almost wished there was a harem because I quite liked the other potential love interests as well. <<less

I am not good at reviewing so don't mind just some point that I liked about this novel is

1. Some of the worlds apocalyptic themes were "chefs kiss" for me, I really really liked those and the last world was "supreme chefs kiss" it was that good (for me).

2. I really like the friendship the FL had with her friends, the bonding was really enviable.

... more>> 3. The FL is op, not right of the bat, but became one step by step.

4. I really like that the novel keep you engaged with the plot, I was constantly trying to guess how the author will solve this issue or how is she going to overcome this.

5. The favourite was always the hoarding part......❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What I am slightly disappointed about was how little the romance was or how late we get to officially know the ML... I really liked - lovedddddd there interaction 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I wanted moreeeeeeee.

And I feel the novel was too cut short at the end 😭😭😭
Spoiler

atleast make the ML get his body back and a last chapter kiss or something 😭😭

The author rambles on about storing different types of food for way too long. The System is also barely utilized other than some tools and expansion. Not to mention that quite often the MC just chills somewhere (it's realistic, but still that doesnt require these thousands upon thousands of lines of text)

Other characters also lack importance.

It's decent enough, so 3/5.

I've actually been on a burnout but this novel really brought back the joys and immersion of novel worlds back to me.

Absolutely loved loved the whole plot line, world building, and characters whether main or subs. Translator also did a fantastic job - thank you! Also to those who are complaining about the ai images at the start of the first few chapters are way too whiney and ungrateful - do u see any other translators make a nice effort to try make our reading experience brighter? *Eye rolls*

Genuinely great novel. If you're looking for an insanely tense action leaking from the pages novel this might not be for you. Instead it's about a relatively normal person who uses their brain (95% of the time) to accomplish actually reasonable tasks. The relatively small supporting cast feel like actual characters instead of background. Translation quality is also superb.

  1. I have the same thoughts as @TaliaHollow they took the words right out of my mouth
  2. Super thankful for Thingyan, our translator for picking this up! (≧▽≦)
  3. If our ML really is also a transmigrator, then I think this'll be my first novel where our ML is also taking missions and going through different worlds with our FL
  4. Can't wait as we progress through the story

Very enjoyable, the main character is no-nonsense and fairly straightforward - a strong, independent female protagonist. I enjoyed the hoarding and her gradual growth. She's not a super-generous charity soul and keeps her own survival, and her parents' survival, as priority. I felt that she didn't have much to worry about, as her priority was always survival, and her System always prioritized that instead of specific tasks for its mysterious goals like other novels.

There is very little romance on her end, and most feelings were one-sided on the potential MLs'... more>> end. There are a lot of Yu Xi admirers (who wouldn't fall for her when she's a pretty powerhouse in the Apocalyptic world?), but she doesn't reciprocate any except the ML. If I had to label her, I would say she's as*xual but demi-romantic. I was pretty annoyed at one of the admirers (the immature one), though, but he's not an awful person.

In another review, there was mention of propaganda. I would say that the novel has a relatively idealistic approach to the government here rather than praising one specific country's (China's) government or aiming for the reader to think anything in specific. The government/military in the novel basically acts how we expect them to act in an ideal world, which is with the general population's survival and wellbeing in mind during the apocalypse. There are no moments where they specifically target Yu Xi, although it is noted she stays out of the limelight to avoid the potential of getting kidnapped and experimented on for her abilities. As the author is Chinese, the novel does focus on locations in China, with rare exceptions.

If there's one thing I'm kinda disappointed about, it's lack of development of the major characters -- the ML and Xu Li's direct family. I felt like her parents were completely one-dimensional. Mother is protective and fierce, the father is the lowest on the totem and a bit weak-willed if well meaning. That's it. The development of Yu Xi's other companions felt more fleshed out and fun. Even Yu Xi's cousin-sister had more growth than Yu Xi's parents. The ML is barely felt in the novel despite

being there almost the entire time as the System. He does make an effort in the apocalypse they go to, but they barely establish they like each other at the end.

[collapse]

The food p*rn portions were given *waaaay* too much emphasis. It got super boring fast so I barely even read them, and they were not very important. :') The one thing on the translation that tweaks me is the use of very obviously AI food pics (along with other AI image generation usage). Ick. <<less

The author is so creative with how they wrote all the apocalyptic scenarios and the characters' development and relationships. One of the worlds MC had been to genuinely made my skin crawl (the third one) and the explanation about the guy she meets in the first world also made me shocked because it finally revealed his reaction and odd skills in the first arc.

I'm glad there's not much romance in this either. My gripe about apocalyptic and survival movies/novels is romance.

The MC is mostly focused on survival and stockpiling everything... more>> she and her family would need. Her efforts to protect her family and her silent promise to still have her morals and humanity are her main goals. And while she does help people, she is not a saint.

The MC, despite being OP and lucky, became OP because she genuinely trained and prepared herself for any problems. It's not like her skills were given to her overnight. Plus, some things that she knows are from thorough research and not pure luck. <<less

3.5 I like the MC and that she works hard to improve herself consistently. She's not a martyr which is appreciative but she does help people to the limit that she can. She never loses trust in people but she's diligent in who she gives trust to. I feel like the author is actively combating and the internalized misogyny that exists in this genre of apocalyptic novels by always writing about sensible women who are also independent besides the MC in these worlds as well as you know woman who... more>> aren't which is realistic. There's a wide range of people and it's never Just women who are unreasonable that are being depicted in each world and how they react. It's interesting to read about her family in the different worlds as well as her friends who help her and contribute to assist her.

I think from reading the other reviews and also reading as much as I have so far... The Romance might be negligible, but it is interesting to always be curious about who the ML is. It's a bit unfortunate but if the romance is in the air then I don't quite like that because I was hoping for at least some sense of it you know.

Despite all of these Great points, which You should read this book if you've never read a book that didn't have these points yet, There's just something about the writing that aggravates me. Like there's just a certain lack of setup sometimes. Or there is very obvious kind of plot direction. But it's not that bad to be honest. It's just like a pinch of annoyance. I think I'm just really hyper aware of it because the writing largely is so well done, so those moments just really annoy me because it could be so seamless if they didn't have those moments. I can't even describe you the moments because they're like many but very detailed so they would be spoilers LOL but very minute as well. Probably wouldn't bother most other people.

Also, I think this book is a bit too long it's crazy that I'm saying that. Because I have read world hopping apocalyptic novels that went up to 3, 000 chapters With only being bored at the near end of 100 chapters of that..... So me at like around 100 or so in the real chapters not the translations feeling so tired... I don't know I think there's something about the writing that doesn't jive with me or something. There's honestly a part of me that just wants to skip to the ending. I honestly I don't know why it is like that for this writing. I think it's too long LOL. Because I have too much experience reading a lot of these kind of worlds. But she is very unique And the way she goes about the world's with her system is very interesting and different from other novels I've read so that makes it different. I think if you've read other kind of world hopping female oriented apocalyptic novels, this might not be that fresh that you are so drawn to it but it's still very I think well done in a way so definitely give it a shot if you are definitely new to the genre. I think you would probably really like it then. I think it's just I don't know there's just something about it the pacing I don't know like surprising the pacing is not that good for me. For now I think I'm going to drop it. I don't know if I'll go back to this book but yeah I might just skip to the end one day because honestly the pacing man I just I don't know why it's boring to me. For reference I'm stopping after some chapters after her return from her mission in January. <<less

It's so refreshing for quick transmigration and apocalypse setting! I love how creative author!

The ending was sweet but I know it can do better...

Spoiler

In terms of romance... it's so little but I'm satisfied. But in terms of mystery and action... the ending still left many questions like: how is the ending for System T? how about Lin Xu, Sister Tang, Leng Mian, Yu Zhenzhen, and Xi Yuan? did they really fight their system? what continuation after Xing Ming had a feedback signal from his civilization? Author built suspense for that but it just... left there... huft

I love how Author potrayed our CP.

and, yes, MC with her "system" who accompany her from beginning to end.

About the system

Spoiler

The system is not an artificial intelligence or some kind of that. He is (yes, it's male) believed to be the last creature from his old civilization who destroyed by System T (Tower System, to be exact). Due to survive, he released his spiritual power (?) to their huge spaceship system and try to defeat System T or just rescue as many people as possible. But, he's failed. So, he needs to spend his time in that spaceship and trying to attack System T in the right moment. Another issue came and he needs "energy" to maintain and upgraded the spaceship. Connection with MC is really a coincidence for him and he thinks that was his last chance, so... he needs to try it.

Amazing translations and story. If you're looking for a laid back, foodie, apocalypse-themed transmigration novel, this is definitely for you.

I like the hoarding and shopping aspects of the story so much that I feel satisfaction as if I'm the one who spend money myself lol. I'm thankful to the translator for making a detailed description of the foods, goods and other tools that she bought, it really adds to the hoarding experience.

The romance isn't an obvious part of the plot and I think this novel can be summed up as... more>> 'Hoarding and Camping in Another World'. So if you're expecting a romance transmigration novel where the MC is counter-attacking or continuing an existing plot, this might not be for you. <<less

So far it's a really good read, the character development and the way the MC is self sufficient and doesn't have a saint complex is something that I really appreciate, she does enough that shows she still has her humanity even though awful things have/are happening but not enough to ruin herself or the people around her. She's decisive and strong, a lot of the female characters are, which again I really appreciate. I think Theo not thing that I would critique is that certain parts are long winded, it's... more>> not always bad but I think because it does happen semi often it gets to be redundant. Still an amazing read and would definitely recommend! <<less

Kinda wish I could bump up my score now. I'm so used to even good series gradually falling off over time that I assumed history would repeat. But if anything I've grown to like this series more. Solid read.

I have to give my kudos on two small details that the author included -

Learning to swim and self defense training. It's always driven me crazy when protagonists don't know how to swim. Especially when they know in advance that they'll be near a body of water! The self defense training is just a nice add after the whole hoarding phase that is typical of this genre. The fact that she'd been going to the dojo for a year felt a little convenient, but at least it was established.

One down side is the system here (at least so far), but being forced to due unreasonable things is part of this genre. It's all very arbitrary and they rarely even attempt to give any reasons why this setting/plot device came to be. /Shrug. Minor gripe.

*edit* Spoke too soon. I've caught up now. It seems the author is trying to flesh out the setting. Some of it is already explained and there's plenty of foreshadowing.

A novel with a fun, unique premise-- I like the mix of apocalypse scenarios that the QT provides. I will agree with other reviewers that the paragraphs upon paragraphs of her hoarding food between missions are less than thrilling, but you can absolutely just skim those and not miss anything.

I'm only on the second world, but I am enjoying the main character and look forward to seeing how her tasks increase in difficulty. The contrast between what we know of her as an omniscient reader and what other characters know... more>> of her diegetically is interesting; she reads like a bouncy, energetic, enthusiastic woman, but others perceive her as more cold and distant.

The translator is doing a great job. The text is smooth and easy to read, without grammatical errors. Great job! Thanks for your hard work! <<less

Good but too long, like there's literally tons of things happening but mostly redundant, I was so far a long, not really sure if I will continue.

Not sure of it's because the author is too diligent like there's literally a lot of word count...

I'm at the train part so I can say that I did try and I did mtl this.

Really good read, with OP MC who's always prepared for every situation (and also actually learns useful skills).

She has good morals while also not forgetting her main priority, which is keeping her parents safe.

The side characters are also well built out, with decent motivations (although there is the MC plot armour of all her companions being very loyal to her).

... more>> The parents aren't that well fleshed out, but I'm fine with that since they're not really that important.

Romance: there are multiple possible MLs who show up and are in love with MC. Actual romance only happens at the end of the last mission arc. <<less
