I remember finding this gem on bakatsuki, back in the day where Xianxia was yet to a thing to be translated and novel updates was pretty much non existence.

But anyways, it was a time where translators focused more on Japanese light novels with good storylines and well structured plots even despite the trope littered mountain of novels.

This novel had a very deep impression on me, I'm not to say that I an expert at reading novels, but this one was an emotional roller coaster, and I must say, made me... more>> cry. I find it a shame that so little people read this, it doesn't give you that immediate satisfaction of adventure as most light novels do these days, but as I said, it's a wonderfully crafted story where you have to read the whole thing in order to relish the quality of the story.

Onto the actual story. I won't say too much, I much rather advise potential readers to dive straight into this novel without knowing anything since that's what I did and I must say I never regretted it.

But ultimately This novel is in one word, grim. It has that modern layer of cutesy moe and undertone of shoujo ai, but it doesn't make it any less gritty and heart wrenching. It has both its happy points and sad points, but most of the time I just felt this nervous sensation clenching my gut along with a vast amount of melancholy.

If you decide this novel please do, it's not a novel where readers tend to discuss about since the sense of closure is just so thick when you finish it, but give it a try if you feel like going back in time of the older era of light novels. <<less

The story is slow, but it is very impactful and deep. We have a futuristic setting (which is very cool!), where we read about love, familial affection, hardship, and loss from the POV of the robot Iris. Characters feel very real and the emotions of the robots make you root for them. It is a very deep story, with all the ups and downs of a drama. By the end, you'll want to cry from either sadness or happiness.

Very emotional story which made me cry ugly tears but it was so worth it.

This is a character driven story and the emotions of the robot Iris and her journey is so beautiful as well as tragic. The growth of the characters and their relationship and the feelings hit you right in the heart for a heavy dose of feels.

This is a story I recommend to even non otakus as this emotional story resonates with most people.

Highly recommended and definitely worth it. 5 stars

It's a sweet story about an android. The start might be a little bit slow, but it was worth it. Do prepare some tissue, as this is one of the novel that will made you cry your eyes out.

This novel is the kind that you can recomment to anyone, even people who dislike anime/Otaku Culture.

The story is so universally great that if it is turned into a Dysney/Pixar movie, or a Hollywood live action, or an anime adaptation, or a music video, it will still be greatly appreciate by all of those community.

The character are all very dynamic, their action and their mistake all make sense and no character is an extra in this story.

Overall a masterpiece.

I cried.

A good and emotive novel. I'd like to know if that's the author as his best or just a fluke, but I'm reluctant to read Amaryllis before someone translates Freesia of the Snow Wings (), and none of his other novels (like the Silver Swordbreaker series, Marianne the Magic Prison, The Daily Lives of the Pestering Elf Pupil and the Resourceful Blacksmith, or Only I Know Your Singing Voice) seems to have caught the eye of any translator.

Expecting a cute, lighthearted slice of life story? You came to the right novel. Want a heartbreaking adventure filled with pain, agony and hopelessness? Also in this damn novel. Iris's concept and pursuit of happiness will make your heart clench; as the story progress, the reality gets further and further from her dreams, yet her love and hope never falters. Each character's backstory and their opinions about reasons of life is provoking; you'll question the very definition of feelings, "soul", and the meaning of life itself. This book had a... more>> great impact on me; I hope it will change you too. Enjoy! <<less

I'm honestly really glad I picked this story up. The first few chapters managed to drag me into the story and although it was slow at first, the exposition was needed and it paid off in the end for when the real action started to kick in.

The characters are lovable and I managed to get attached within the first few chapters just from their quirks and chemistry with one another. I had to try my best not to burst out crying every few chapters or so, but I'm glad it... more>> ended off on a good note for Iris even though I am a sucker for unhappy endings.

It's an amazing light novel if you want a quick read and really want something to cry at. <<less

Oh my god. I swear, this is the very first time a Novel has driven me into this state. While I'm writing this review, I'm still shedding drops of tears. I don't know, this story is too beautiful.
I'm still wondering how a novel about robots can drive me to tears like this. I have no words to describe this, it's a hidden gem. If you're still wondering whether you should read this or not, I believe this is a legitimate question. I mean, if you don't want to sit... more>> in your bed and cry in a corner, you should probably never start a chapter. But if you like bittersweet stories, this one won't dissapoint you. Definitely not. <<less
