After waking from a car accident, professional esports player Ye Shaoyang found himself transmigrated into a mystifying ABO world where he was living as a noobish streamer.

In order to support himself in this new life, Ye Shaoyang decided to return to his old job and climb the ranks in the esports world. With his outstanding talent, he quickly secured a contract with a prestigious club.

But on his very first day with his new team, he unexpectedly presented as an omega right in front of the team’s captain Chi Shuo.

Chi Shuo took his new teammate to the hospital for an examination. Afterwards, the boy looked up at him with a sheen of moisture in his eyes. The corners of his eyes were red, and his voice was hoarse as he rasped, “Captain, the doctor says I’m allergic to suppressants. Can you help me?”

“…help you how?” Chi Shuo asked.

Ye Shaoyang simply turned his back to Chi Shuo. “Just give me a temporary mark. Bite me here, thanks.”

Chi Shuo’s expression gradually crumbled.

What was with this omega?! Was a mark something you could hand out so freely?!

Netizens:

[I heard Team Tianhuan’s new teammate is an omega!] [Is he going to play support? Everyone, please be sure to take care of your sweet, delicate, adorable new omega support!] That was the buzz, right up until Ye Shaoyang demonstrated his explosive prowess by single-handedly taking five kills in a competitive match.

Their opponents:

[Sweet? Delicate? This is a demon lord, isn’t it?] [He killed me enough to break my brain. I want to uninstall the game!] [Even if we lose the battle, Ye Shaoyang must die!] [Target that omega! Show no mercy!] It’s time to get to know an omega with flashy and extraordinary skills.

Who says an omega has to be sweet, delicate, and adorable? This omega has the power to blow up the whole league.

SPOILER UPDATE: 11/21 ~ once in a while I'll be posting spoiler updates here as I read the raws

Spoiler

MC and ML's tacif understanding is so great, they have 2 midlaner-jungler linkage (white and black wolf king & I dont really understand but they have a "flying combo" as well) that went somewhat "viral" among the esports professional when they used it in the international server. MC and ML also trained with Tianhuan 2nd team, and as a result they won a silver cup championship. And in ch 72, the transfer period has started!!! Its so amusing how the other professional players has not yet find out MC is in Tianhuan

[collapse]

The story is so good! Im reading it in mtl (really easy to understand you should try if you like the story) and the book gets updated everyday.

Spoiler

MC differentiated as an omega and straightforwardly asked ML to bite him. ML's reaction is so cute! He got embarrassed and even got a reaction thinking of their temporary mark. Also their pheromones are 100% matched! But MC doesnt think much of that he thinks its easy or common to get that percentage. They still havent played as a team yet and I cant wait to read about how they win with their jungler-midlaner combination

[collapse]

I'll re-read the translated version again when there's more chapter <<less

I like it, both MC and ML very Synchro (?) Have great tacit understanding in game and in their vision. It's like soulmate. Both so sweet, their team mate and fans are so funny. Well, I kinda feel bored a Lil bit when the story describe about the game thing cuz I don't understand that much. But it's oke. Spoiler for this chapter (176)

Spoiler

their first kiss here, and temporary Mark when ML is in heat. Then confess in the morning.

After I read all of them, all I can say is it was enchanted to meet you~ hehe.. The protagonist, both very OP, nothing can't stop then to top the world. Their love life too smooth. Sometimes I hate their relationship. Envy, I'm salty, toothache.. Too sweet. But the story become a bit boring, I dunno why. <<less

The cover doesn't do justice. You might think it's all cutesy based on the cover, but it's not at all! It's very plot-heavy (in the gaming sense).

Characters

MC. He isn't overpowered like a Gary Sue at all. His fighting prowess is built on years upon years of professional esports experience in his previous life. Honestly, I also do think that he's a genius. He understands the situation well and his gaming sense is top notch! I personally like his personality! He's very different from what you'd expect from a streamer or... more>> a professional league player who cusses out, taunts other players, and brags about himself to the death. He is pretty down to earth and loves to help people as long as he can see the talent and dedication in them. One flaw about him that makes him human instead of a complete gary sue is his lack of awareness in the ABO setting. He isn't like what the standard stereotype of what an omega would be like at all. He's kindnatured offline but in game he's completely ruthless and even manages to annoy his enemies to death with his skills. He's really naive in ABO but he tries his best to wrap around the subject. He's also very straightforward! He makes the ML embarrassed when he asks for help or states some dog food (unintentionally) to the ML since he doesn't get the ABO set up much HAHA

ML. What a dedicated captain. He's really a nice person! Not at all with the cold personality trope. He's very honest and earnest. He is very level headed like the MC and they suit each other well. He is very OP like the MC but not in an exaggerated way. I love his character and how he tries to help the MC integrate on the hero plays more as well as their synergy when they play. In a nutshell, I would say that Chi Suo is a very earnest person. He's been gaming almost all of his life so when he's bombarded with the straightforward Shaoyang, he wouldn't know how to act around him and would overthink if Shaoyang has some other meaning with his actions (lenny face hehe). HE'S A GOOD GUY. Side characters. They're funny and cute! At this point of reading, the plot was mostly focused on the MC's road to being a professional player so the entire team hasn't been introduced yet, but we get to see a large pool of characters. Each of them having their own complexities and differences. They were written nicely too!

Plot and Pacing

5/5 at this point of reading. I would MTL if not for the fact that it has tons of gaming lingo, so I'll be waiting for the English translation. The pacing is nice too! It wasn't rushed at all. I like how the author skips over arcs that wouldn't necessarily create an impact on the story. I've read King's Avatar all the way to 1.1k chapters and a lot of it was so thoroughly detailed that it progressed so slow. In this novel, there's actually a lot of gaming scenes as it focuses on the MC's gradual integration towards the game. The ABO setting wasn't as much pronounced as it would be (at this point of the story). Also, I actually appreciated how the author didn't write the world as something that looked down on omegas. They were fairly an equal society and they simply acknowledged that there was a second gender. Being an omega doesn't lower your status in society. Esports is highly focused in the game and there really are a lot of gaming scenes. When the MC and ML meet and they play games together, I'm not bored at all. The tension and synergy is so high that I end up rooting for them even more.

Recommend?
Spoiler

YESSSSSS!!!! It's still ongoing but man I would love to read this!

Just a sidenote that this novel really delves into the mechanics and technical side of the game. For people like me, who are essentially non-gamers but know a little bit from reading other esports novels, it's more than enough to continue! The translation is also very good! And it updates every day with one chapter ❤. Also just a heads up that the game they're playing is not real but the game is very well-made by the author (they said it's kinda like LoL and other MOBA games) so you could visualize it if you're a gamer. <<less

wow. this is genuinely such a fun read??? the protagonist is really likeable, the translation is excellent, and the fictional game created is interesting to read!! please note that this is definitely first and foremost an esports/gaming oriented story, with the romance being a slow burn secondary element. if youre purely interested in relationship development and aren't a fan of the game/strategy jargon, this might not be the novel for you.

the MC, ye shaoyang, is basically just a normal guy LOL. he's powerful and has the experience (in his former... more>> life, anyways) to back it up, and I love when the author goes on long-winded explanations on his thought process in the game! really tickles the esports fan in my brain hehe! I love how bold and confident he is, without being condescending or haughty.

the male lead, chi shuo is pretty standard of the genre— hes a skilled, veteran player looking for the last boost needed to get his team to the championship. there hasn't been much to go off him since the story is still quite in its early phases, but the player (not romantic, yet) chemistry between him and shaoyang is really pleasing to read!! they truly do feel like a power couple when they partner up haha

i think what I like most about this novel's setting is that, compared to other novel's that start with one being a talented newbie taken under the wing of a master player, the power dynamic here is much more even, as they're both 100% gaming veterans in MOBA, so when they converse, they always feel like they're on equal footing.

on the topic of the setting: im not really a fan of a/b/o, but I deeply appreciate the author's clear intent and worldbuilding used to express this section of the story. at first, I thought it'll be some gimmicky story trope, but the author has very clearly put in thought into how a society would function with this multiple gender system. it's also brought up fairly naturally? theres still some... awkward stereotypes ingrained since its a/b/o— but its pretty well implemented!

tldr; a very fun read! if you enjoy esport novels, like the premise of a/b/o but not so much the smuttiness, this ones for you! <<less

3.5. Don't expect this one to be on the same level of author's e-sports trilogy. It's not on the same level as The strongest male god and god level summoner. It's a decaf version in my opinion.

Author is one of my favorite danmei writer and a great one at that. But this one for me pales in comparison to his other existing works here.

I remember reading an author's note which states that MC is not OP and will be tempered during the competition. This did not happen because of the... more>> change of pace in the story. (The pace changed at around the time they qualified for group S. From steady the pace went faster from that point on)

Granted that MC was a captain and a great player during his past life his skill was still too OP compared to the other players. He transmigrated into a noob player yet his hand speed is the same as his past life. He is still getting used with the navigation of the game yet in a few months he can go toe to toe with veterans without breaking a sweat! The dynamics between the leads were also a bit rushed in my opinion. The romance feel a bit forced that it took me a few chapters to accept that they're really together. There are too few interactions between them to warrant the MC to just fall considering that he was straight. (I expected God Level Summoner romance dynamics but I did not even get half of it! I suddenly feel sorry for Ling Xuefeng who went through a lot to male Li Cangyu his lol).

Now on the games. This is e-sports but the competition was rushed. I just read the finals and it was a bit boring. It gave me that that's-it? Feeling.

The games were not as engaging, not as heart-pounding and not as exciting as God Level Summoner and The Strongest Male God. The narrations were cut in the sense that when you expected to read a good game it ended already. It was good that the games were not narrated in such a way that it covers the whole three (five in some cases) rounds but at least give us a good fight during match points. There wasn't even much of a climax nor a build up in some games it just ended abruptly.
Spoiler

the finals for the world championship for example. There was no suspense at all

As for the ABO material, well it rarely get mentioned and can easily be overlooked at times. <<less

Took MC a heck of a lot of chapters to finally realize that his relationship with ML was a little different than just bros. ML on the other hand is out here falling in love fast ... more>>
Spoiler

and already planning their wedding and the names of the children after the second mark.

[collapse]
The contrast in their romantic feelings is brilliant and I really just could not handle how dense the MC was hahaha it's amazing that even though they're on completely different pages they still have such a tacit and harmonious understanding of each other?? It's a slow burn story that moves very quickly, with both relationship developments and games. Each game really only takes one chapter or two to complete, so it doesn't feel like it drags for too long.

The relationship development between the two leads takes a back seat for most of the plot, with the focus being on their teamwork and gaming, but there are a lot of really sweet moments with MC and ML being on the same wavelength and supporting one another. I love the friends to lovers vibes that they have, and how patient ML is with MC.

Spoiler

It may have taken over 120 chapters to get there, but I died when MC finally got a handle of the ABO world and realized that asking for a mark, even if it's just temporary, isn't just something simple between friends hahah. His reaction is too cute, I just love how embarrassed he is and how he can't stop thinking about himself as a hooligan.

[collapse]

I will say that I skimmed through most of the games after C150 or so, and just looked for the relationship development points, because I really do have a hard time with staying interested in just action scenes. It was overall a great story, plenty of humor with the dramatic irony of it all and just enough romance to keep me satisfied. The extras had me dying too, with
Spoiler

them revealing themselves to the world by accidentally live streaming themselves making out hahahaha way to announce your relationship!!

Also always love an extra where the ML gets to see the MC in his original world! Reverse transmigration is so interesting, and gives them a deeper understanding of each other that just can't be attained without it~

This author does a really good job with writing esports novels, would definitely recommend this one for a fun and lighthearted read! <<less

I'm camping everyday at JJWXC to MTL this novel, it's just so fresh!

The transmigrated into ABO world might seem a liiittle bit of a stretch, but the writing after that is enough to make up for it. Give this one a try first, if you like e-sport novel, this one is a nice read.

Will update after more chapters

For an Esport novel this one was of the better ones. I love the details and strategies. It is easy to understand and very engaging. You don't find the writer trying to pull something out of the thin air by trying making things up. I enjoy the Esport circle here very realistic. I can see the writer put in alot of efforts.

We can basically brush other characters aside since there's no 3rd party ahem.

Yangyang is one of the better characters in Esport novels. You can see his confidence, very smart,... more>> warm, bubbly. Repaid petty with brutal kindness hehe. You fall in love with him instantly. His mind is very admirable. I emotionally very invested in him as a whole when I read the novel. Such a attractive character.

Chi Shuo I can say he's very understanding and kind. Very caring and strong. I find him okay, but I am more invested in YangYang, I find Chi Shuo more like your standard ML that he has no fault but also he doesn't give you any particular special feeling either.

The romance for me is what you can say acceptable. I felt like Yangyang only has Chi Shuo to depend on and his has no choice in the matter. Like you know he's force to bend? Him being omega and also only has Chi Shou by his side really. There were no other options. But you know accept this and be happy? Not like you can find faults with Chi Shuo, just the whole thing was situational, led by YangYangs ABO knowledge confusion mixed in. He can't hurt but accept Chi Shuo. I felt fine without the romance anyway. Or rather hope Yangyang took time to confirm his feelings first to confess before being put in that situation.

Though this is a great Esport Novel for anyone want to read and enjoy some great game play and into Esport genre. <<less

I would say this is probably one of the best ABO novel i've ever read. There's a lot that I like about this novel rather than I dislike.

First of all this is my opinion and I'm more of the romance side of the novel than the ongoing plot itself.

What I like about this novel,

  • Dynamic between Chi Shuo and Ye Shaoyang, there's never a part where both of them never been respectful towards each other, they're in a healthy relationship
  • Chi Shuo is a consenting lover, you might think this is a bare minimum but I remind you this is ABO novel, Chi Shuo is an alpha and could get out of control very easily, there's some chapter he almost gone out of control but because he love Shaoyang very much he never think about doing 'it' without his consent.
  • Most of the character are not basic, I would say this not to the point of "mxtx" or "meatbun" level but decent enough for us not to get bored, there's each arc for other teammates to get improvement of course involving Shaoyang and Chi Shuo. You might think this is very generic but tbh it's not bad.
  • Character of Ye Shaoyang, I couldn't explained it very well but he's a cool character, he's a person that like to slap people in the face and is he a gary stu? No, he's far from that he's just really good at gaming. He's also a very funny character because of his obliviousness well he was thrown into an ABO world where he didn't know about anything and the progress for his sudden revelation is funny to watch.
Now, into what I dislike,

  • Pace of the story and repetitive action, for the earlier chapter about the gameplay and the description is very clear and we can see ourself become an audience watching Shaoyang and Chi Shuo playing, but onwards it gets boring and I think the author gave up on giving us more unique description about the gameplay especially on the world championship arc are very bland compare to national championship arc. The pace is very rushed and boring so I skipped about 5 chapters and it doesn't change the whole experience of reading.
  • Lack of characterization towards non-chinese characters, it doesn't make me uncomfortable or weirded about the description of the characters but they're lacking. The only person that got uniquely descripted is mitchell (i think? I kinda forgot his name) it's like 1 out of 10 foreign characters. And I think the author pointed out unless mitchell (?) Other foreign character is either only a name or hostile to Shaoyang.
That's all I can say for this novel, if any of you want to read this raw you can do it, with auto translate it's not that bad but you need to process some words because most of the words are broken grammar.

I would recommend this to someone who is new to e-sport theme because it's quite easy to read and process the gameplay in our head from the author's description. <<less

This is a novel worth checking out. It balances the ratio between the esport plot and giving us sweetness, pretty well. I usually drop most esport type novels because sometimes it gets too technical and repetitive, which personally makes me lose interest as I’m not that big into the ‘MOBA’ game genre in general.

But, this novel is easy to follow along as gaming scenes aren’t dragged out for a long time to the point you feel the need to just skip through it all.

edit: Well, RIP the fan translation. Idk if the translator would even be back or if there is a way to obtain the password (some translators have Discord and that's where they release passwords that change every now and then). 78zao can't be DM'd on Twitter so who knows really. We'll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, MTL still exists and is somewhat passable so that's something, I guess.

... more>> old review:

I've been MTLing this novel back when the english translation only had less than 30 chapters. It's so good that I couldn't hold back from it. Despite this, I still read the properly translated chapters because MTL had a bunch of broken english or mistranslated words.

The romance subplot is not too prominent that the entire novel actually reads like a typical shounen story most of the time, which I really like. In the translated chapters, it's not quite developed yet (focuses more on ML) but the recent chinese chapters have shed some light onto MC's side of the romance, and it's filled me with both sugar and second-hand embarrassment. This CP is too sweet, as the in-story netizens would say LMAO

I may not know where the story would end so it could be too early to rate it at 5-stars, but I am very satisfied with the direction it's going. Would recommend to MTL for any other impatient readers like me. <<less

The novel seems promising to me for now. Although it can be seen that it has a lighter tone compared to other e-sport novels like the 'E-sports toxic assembly camp' or 'I can do it, ' it doesn't diminish interest.

So far so good, the only issue I found was that the author was too hasty to delve into the world of e-sports that it seemed as if they just brushed over MCs transmigration simply as something nontrivial. It seems too hasty and leaves the impression that he didn't really need... more>> to realize that he just died and transmigrated. His feelings for his acquaintances and so in his previous life seems too detached and it seems as if he doesn't even really care. Furthermore, it appears he even cares more about his experiences of esports rather than his sentiments to the ones he left behind. Just one paragraph and bwalah, move on. <<less

Yes, there are inconsistencies (in terms of gaming) but imo the author had already done a good job. Even if I am a long time gamer myself there's no need to be too nitpicky. Sure, the plot didn't 100% accurately portray the (5v5) gaming world but even if author plays the game, have enough experience and rank, it isn't always enough. Like many other sports Manga it is bound to have some miss moments but it's fine since this story pretty good itself as a fiction.

It is written well enough... more>> for non-games and gamers to enjoy and understand. There is sufficient comedy as they trudge along the esports life. The humor is pretty understandable and the gamer insider jokes should be more hilarious for people who played competitive games at least. Also, the faceslaps are exciting in a different way that it was infused with a humor + kickassery? I can't explain it well but it more game-related? The tr@sh talking face slaps especially done in a "nice way" is my favourite part.

I enjoy reading the whole story from start to end despite it's length. MC's progression and growth is eventful and there is no boring time in-between. For romance readers you might find it lacking but the whole plot is pretty good to compensate enough even if it's centered around games. Romance and omegaverse part is minimal but was touched more around fanwai. <<less

Well it is pretty cute and funny. There were many cute parts with the ML and MC, but I still cant give this story 5 stars for some reasons.

1 its truly too long. Compared with the authors other book Accidental Mark which I love, this kinda went on and on with the tournaments.

2 So the games, all the local games were super bloody long and I kinda felt like it was never ending, but when it came to the world championship, then it was like bam bam bam. Done.

3 The... more>> thing with naming countries and the media and netizens of certain counties being portrayed in a bad way, I have read other esports novels with world championships, but they were never this bad, plus many authors would just improvise and makeup counties.

But here, if I was actually from Korea, I would have definitely felt bad for my country being portrait in such bad ways as in this book. So I’m not very satisfied about that part.

The best part about this book is in the extras as that’s the only place the author is not portraying other countries in such ways.

If you like a slow burn with many esports games in it, this will do good. If not its meh.

though I did start to play league of legends after reading this coz I couldn’t understand how this game worked. Of course after playing the game I could understand. As all the games were well described.

That’s all. It’s a nice story with fun moments. I like both the ML and MC, just the story was too long and had those issues I mentioned above. <<less
