Time travel or regression is just a gimmick and this novel is another typical cultivation novel. Don't expect usual regression features too much. The author only used it to make MC OP and know-it-all when necessary. Most of the time, you will just find cultivation tropes such as fortuitous encounter, impressing strong old guys, refining pills like frying beans, never ending offenses to stronger groups, low wisdom adversaries etc.

The author also kept MC in a hurry all the time. As only MC could save everyone around him and stronger sects/clans... more>> were constantly trying to exterminate him and his group, he was always rushing to get stronger as if his bu*t was on fire.

Don't get attach to the side characters too. They were introduced in one chapter and became outdated in the next since MC was rushing to get higher areas and meeting stronger people. Harem is very strong here too. The story practically forced girls upon girls on him all the time. <<less

The story starts off strong with a typical regression story that like all regression story the advantage of being a regressor disappears because the regressor is having too much of an impact on the future.

The biggest issue is the novel is super repetitive. The MC moves to a region, annoys someone of high status or they want something of value of his, makes a name for himself while befriending another powerful ally, his accomplishments attracts the attention of a girl, powerful enemy targets girl or his family, he resolves the... more>> crisis and then moves to the next region that is massive in comparison to the previous region.

If this happened once or twice it would be just a fairly common martial artist story (because they all fall on that crutch at least once) but it happens so frequently it actually becomes annoying.

The translation is fantastic and their release schedule is great <<less

Eh, it's your typical cultivation novel. It's got a decent TL at least, so it's actually readable unlike a lot of others.

MC's... absurd. 13, 000 year regression of the top alchemist in the world who after regressing not only became a top-tier martial artist as well, but also literally "the destined ruler of the world" - (I don't even really consider this a spoiler because it's outright said this is the case when he first awakens his martial arts potential.)

However, this series has one thing going for it, which... more>> is in
Spoiler

chapter 82

[collapse]

I'd also like to note that this is a martial arts world, not a cultivator world - There's a distinct difference between the two despite their similarities. So be aware of that if you're specific about the types of Xianxia/etc. you read/enjoy. (for those unaware, martial arts cultivation series are generally less "magic"-focused and a bit less "fantastical" than your more standard pure cultivation stories, of course, that's only comparatively - This is still Xianxia and not Wuxia. There's absolutely magic/fantastical elements, just not to the same extent as certain other series.)

And, yeah, I agree with the other review that the story feels incredibly rushed in the sense that MC never really stays in one place or anything like that for long, which also has a fairly negative impact on the harem aspect - We barely see MC build an actual relationship with most of the girls. They get like 2-3 scenes of interacting with him (usually over fairly mundane things) and then they just decide to start following him around. And you can't even use his previous life's relationship with them to make it make sense in every case, because some of them either died super early (like the first girl) or are people he didn't even know.

Also this series has some of the dumbest characters I've ever seen. And I mean that literally.

There's a scene where a heavenly phenomenon happens and someone nearby's response to it is... to literally jump off a cliff to look for what caused it. He then immediately dies. Because obviously. He literally jumped off a cliff. That tends to kill you. <<less

I would have given 4 or 5 stars, but when a 16 year old genius alchemist, more promising than anyone seen in history is mobbed, hit, downed and hurt by jealous APPRENTICES without any consequences, then you'll realize the author is s*upid and just wants to use cliches to advance the story without giving a sh*t about the situation.

Think carefully what they did! To whom! Where! (Alchemy guild)

A commoner gets killed if he accidentally touches a "noble", but these guys who attack a once in a lifetime genius with... more>> a higher level than them, get away?

This is just s*upid!

And a 15000 year old person who gets flustered by barely touching the clothing where the breasts of a woman are somewhere below, who knows how many layers of cloth between the protagonist and the b**bs? S*upid. Not believable!

Do we have a 12 year old author again?

This is not funny, it breaks immersion! <<less
