I love this novel! It doesn't give you diabetes but it has fluff. The ML is so cuteee! And MC can be a little annoying, but it's to be expected. She is a villaness after all. It's really heartwarming to read.

I have nothing else to say other than compliments. I understand the characters' feelings and I don't feel empty as I read more of things that happens in the novel. I'm amazed that I can even read this without paying. I like it in the way that I even remember the ending easily after not reading it for several weeks.

One of the best in the villainess categories. Some people say the pacing is slow but I absolutely loved it! Saw the twist coming but even so, it made reading it so much fun because you want to find out what happens next. There’s a lot of good reviews already so I won’t make this long but all I have to say is this got me so hooked I skipped on work LOL

I can’t accept that one of the few stories that made me cry buckets has such low ratings. What sorcery is this?! Readers, please give this story a chance, and read until the end. This story won’t disappoint you.

At start, it may seem similar to other otome novels, but I’m telling you it’s not! Do not be deceived by the fat to fit tag. The change will be gradual and everything will just flow smoothly.

The characters here are very complex. You’ll love how each of them develops. There may even... more>> be a point where you’ll be surprised that you’re already rooting for a character that you’ve used to hate ;) You’ll love the story-telling. The author did a great job in immersing us with the character’s emotion. You’ll see yourself crying with them, boiling in anger with them, laughing with them. The world building in this novel is also good. You’ll find yourself wanting to join them in their adventure. Watch out for the plot twist, too ;) Hints are everywhere but you might get caught off handed. <<less

This was an overall good novel. I liked the way the romance developed and how the characters slowly revealed to each other. I really enjoyed the foreshadowing and how some of the things mentioned in passing actually had relevance in the end. It's a good novel, even if at times it felt dull or repetitive, and the translator did a really good job. Solid 4 stars.

I don't read a lot of Otome novel, but this story make nobility feel like it nothing special at all. A maid dare to spread all type of rumor, and misinform anyone about anything.

Spoiler

The maid of the ML household even dare to spread bad rumor of him, even though he is the Duke, and leader of the household. When he fired a maid that are causing trouble, the Head maid reprimand him for that. Like what is even noble there for? It like the maid are the actual noble, and the duke is just some nobody who live there.

In term of world building, it pretty lazy, only put in plot that convenient for the story to make the MC more miserable even when it doesn't make logical sense.

Although the story progress forward, but most of the time, it feel very force, like certain plot don't make sense but force to be so anyway. <<less

Overall a good read. Not my favorite. But cute and well-written. The characters feel more real than some others. They have flaws, and they acknowledge that. The pacing of the romance is slow and could probably be better executed. But Still a good, cute read.

I'm not doing too much of a review, more of like a "BEFORE YOU READ" type thing that I wish I knew before diving into this story since, I'm the type that likes to know a bit of the layout of the story before I spend time reading it.

Needless to say, spoilers (albeit, more general and not very specific) ahead.

This story isn't your average romance or villainess story. It's more of a story of the FMC, Camilla and the tragedy that befalls her.

There is 0 fluff and *miniscule* romance, so if you're the type that likes to read that this story isn't for you. The romance is so miniscule in fact it takes the entire story for them to get together and when they do, their first kiss had around 2 sentences worth of description, but the token flirty playboy character gets pages and pages worth of teasing Camilla and her blushing.

There is no "romantic" payoff at the end of the story, but there is a different large payoff at the end of the story that was somewhat satisfying.

Also, this might seem weird but if you're the type that can't handle NTR or a "cuck" male MC, some moments of this story will piss you off. I mean the male MC is so weak-willed he shows no emotion when the playboy character gets close to the girl he loves, or hides his emotions when Camilla is laying all of her feelings out constantly. And there is an explanation for this in the story but, his behavior is somewhat inconsistent to me. He is shown to lose control of his emotions when it comes to Camilla but other times he completely disregards her and her feelings even after having realized the feelings he holds for her. Also, the male MC publicly admits to being a cuck so there is that lol.

I was somewhat fine with the way the MC acts since he also grows throughout the story but the way Camilla gets treated pisses me off.

The story's most charming point and best character is definitely Camilla, the FMC. The male MC ranks somewhere near the bottom of the character list, the dude isn't likeable at all.

I was totally deceived when I saw so many 5stars! Like seriously! Does this novel even make sense! I was bursting with anger while reading, I know the FL is a little villainess at first but people doesn't have any right to behave like that with her! It's soo frustrating and I just dislike the ML and hate the f**kin maids, this novel made me so mad seriously I'm literally seething atm

I actually enjoyed this story, thought id step out of my comfort zone a little and was pleasantly suprised, is this a masterpiece? No. Are there some small parts that made me groan slightly? yes. but overall it was enjoyable despite some short comings.

pros:

I liked the way the leads grew to love each other.

Klause and Gustav were decent characters.

the old maid was a good aspect of the plot.

the cousin was a good character too but I think she got way too much screen time.

The first Aliose plot twist was great, where we find out that he accidentally killed his parents.

[collapse]

cons:

The MC felt too much like a damsel for anyone to believe that she was a villiones if anything shes a more like s tsudere

The background of the final plot twist wasn't explained well enough.

The final plot twist seemed kinda unnecessary for the plot, like I liked it and all but I think it made the ending too perfect.

some character vital to the plot would have done well with having more time in the limelight (the prince and the lover).

The extrac chapters were interesting but...
Spoiler

I wish there was one where Alios interacted with his brother and one of them in the future

I like how the FL is not your usual heroine. Her character, being too bullheaded and overbearing, is definitely unique though it comes with both pros and cons. Her reactions and responses to the whatever situation she encounters is generally outsider your expectation for a usual heroine (even those that are also considered as ‘villainess’). As to the ML, I think his character is also not bad, though I find it quite inconsistent how he seemed to regress from being clever when dealing with the FL at the early part... more>> of the novel to being meek at the latter part.

While I appreciate the detailed backgrounds, I just find the novel somehow dragging to read considering that the narratives probably compose 80% of it whereas the dialogues make up the remaining part. I’d hope to read more about the interactions between the characters. Nevertheless, I think it was well-written, especially the twist in the story. Moreover, it was very realistic in a sense that not really everyone will have a happy ending and not all issues will be resolved well.

I definitely felt some angst especially whenever the FL is judged and misunderstood. Though it did it not quite sit well with me how she is still very much in love with the Prince for most of the novel and it seemed that she did not really explicitly confirmed her feelings with the ML til the end. Considering how the ML was so vocal about his love for the FL, I’d hope for it to be reciprocated adequately, even though one might say that it can be implied from the actions of the FL in choosing to stay with him and accepting the engagement. Maybe if there was more development in their relationship, even if it’s in the epilogue or the extras, I’d appreciate it more. <<less

One of my favorite novels. Fantastic character writing for the protagonists, amazing resolution of what seems like a really interesting planned plot. Don't sleep on this one.

This is really good. In the end, their emotions and how they reacted to every situation was raw and realistic in a way. They weren't grandeur with the emotions like what you would normally see in a typical story, rather it was nuanced and that really got me hooked. Each and everyone were going through something and they addressed that as humans we are all capable of doing bad things or being subjected to bad things, may it be on purpose or brought by circumstances, but you should still take... more>> responsibility for yourself in the end. They made me feel for each character's struggles and emotions. And I'm not really good at expressing my emotions but I wanted to right this review or rather rate it because I really liked this story. <<less

This is one of those rare stories where plot, characterization, and pacing come together to create a surprising conclusion (though I saw the twist coming, I still didn't guess the whole of it). Although I'd give the pacing 4 stars (the story drags a bit in the middle, as though the author didn't have time to go back and tighten things up), the fact remains that the characters shine, in their imperfect, very selfish and human ways.

I like that our dear Camilla never quite loses her prickly side - instead,... more>> she slowly unfolds into a complex character, growing and changing her views and becoming, if not exactly nice, at least relatable.

One of the main weaknesses of translated novels (well, novels in general), I feel, is the lack of anything with which to empathize in the main characters' lives and personalities. It makes every protagonist an exchangeable superheroic (or antiheroic, comedic, etc), totally untouchable plot-driver. Not this novel. No one in this story is perfect. They make mistakes and do s*upid things and make flawed assumptions, and that's just fine with me. They don't have to be perfect. In fact, they're the better for their flaws. <<less

The story was simple and predictable. It was also an easy read light novel which was good for me mehehhe. But despite the simplicity, the character development and how it was depicted was so good. The characters were realistic, it emphasized and reminded me that underneath one's greatness are faults and under one's faults are greatnesses. The MC was not that dumb, she's rash and sincere. It was refreshing that the main lead was fat. It also explored the important parts of this world. Also, translation was understandable.

Binged this book... more>> and I recommend this, it's really worth it. I just wish it has more extra chapters. Btw, the pace of the story was slow for others but for me, the pace was alright. I was still entertained tho. <<less

A really easy-reading, but at the same time, well writing novel.

The protagonist is a real bad-ass lady, and the ML is not the usual, in fact, it is estabelshid how human he is, soon he make wrong decisions. But no decision is trualy wrong, as the novel it is not 2d.
