When rain falls while the sun is shining, a fox wedding is being held.

A city girl returns to her hometown. There is such a folklore in her hometown:

Legend has it that there is a fox in the mountain. The fox has a cave full of treasures, which is reserved as betrothal gifts for his bride.

There is a tradition in the village that every time the villagers get married, the bride will sing a folk song to the fox in a wedding dress. The fox will then bless her with a happy marriage. If she sings well, the fox will also send her a betrothal gift. At night, he would walk on the dew-dusted path to marry her.

This story was kinda sad and heartbreaking. Poor Ah Lang (the fox). This story is not in the least a common fairytale where the fox will live happily ever after with a beautiful human, instead, this is a logical version of those common fairytales.

Spoiler

Ah Lang fell in love with MC's mom. She promised to marry him when she was a child but then she forgot about it and married someone when she turned into adult. Ah Lang was heartbroken and then kidnapped her daughter, who was our MC, and forced her to be her bride instead.

Of course MC refused. Other than she had someone she liked already, who would in the right mind marry a fox and lived in secluded cave for the rest of her life? MC's opinion was indeed a bit harsh but it's also realistic.

But I also could understand Ah Lang's loneliness, living by himself for hundred years and wacthing those villagers born and die. I hope he could find his true love sooner so he wouldn't be lonely anymore.
