It was ok. It was a pretty by-the-books transmigration novel that didn't really live up to it's synopsis, in my opinion.

Both the acting and the mediating are secondary to their relationship, which I find nice, but as neither are expanded upon the novel lacks substance. I was especially disappointed with the mediator aspect of the novel. He also has a special ability that assists in his mediator efforts, which seemed a bit random/unnecessary to me.

I liked that there was some time before they confirmed their relationship, about two months. The... more>> MC doubted whether the ML liked him or not, which seemed a bit out of place, solely because he seemed so smart and confident previous to his doubts. The only thing I slightly dislike about their relationship is how quickly they get married; shortly after they start the relationship. It's romantic in a way, as you know they'll always be together... but slightly unrealistic, maybe?

Also, the novel should probably be categorized as shounen-ai and not yaoi. I'm not sure if I missed it cause of mtl, but I'm fairly certain they never proceeded beyond kissing.
The extras focus on an entirely different couple, and one I couldn't really care less about, but that's just me. The novel would've benefited from seeing some of the main couple's married life after their careers, imo. <<less

This was so satisfying. No angst and unreasonable characters. It's very simple and filled with fluff.

There's no complications between the MC and ml.

The side characters are also great. This might not be 3 dimensional and a big bland but its fluff, and its a heartwarming novel to read to soothe your heart

I haven't finished the story yet, but judging by what I've read so far, this doesn't really seem to be my cup of tea though the story should be good enough for a light read.

Spoiler
  1. Honestly, I feel that the romance is way too fast-paced. The ML didn't know the MC for that long, but he worries for him a lot more than someone he has known for a while. It's so odd how easily he gets a good impression of the MC after the transmigration even though the original truly wasn't that great. He's not even that suspicious by the change in personality even though he was working with him recently.
  2. Also, the original protagonist seems like a typical fake white lotus. I don't understand how he was the protagonist in the original novel.
  3. The mediator aspect was pretty disappointing considering what I was expecting from the synopsis. Like another reviewer mentioned, the MC has a power that seems pretty pointless since he could probably solve fights through discussions. In my opinion, his power is kind of off-putting.

So I don't know why the reviews are bad. I have read up to 42 chapters and I can say the following:

  • The story is very fluffy.
  • The angst is practically nonexistent.
As for objections the other reviewers brought up:

Spoiler

The story is going in a direction, it's a little slow but it's getting there.

Chemistry between the MCs are too fast? Lol, you must have not read enough BL QT.

8 chapters in and I'm like huhhhh? What's going on? Why is it like that??

I don't know if it's the 2 am reading but the chapter started off super off. The conversation with the director was confusing. Then came the conflict between the director and screenwriter which came literally out of no where and the lil 'special power'. And finally what's up with the interaction between the MC and the ML? It just suddenly happened! There's no build up. No reason behind the actions. And I don't even think it's... more>> part of the MC's character set up to act that way (based on his backstory so far) ! The whole story (as of chapter 8) is all over the place. It even got me questioning if I had accidentally skipped chapters or started out midway through the story. But seeing that it has a rating of 3.9, imma give it a chance. Unfortunately, it started out too rocky that I had to vent. Hopefully I'll make it to the end! <<less

A story without substance. Good for no-thoughts-head-empty-just-wanna-feel-happy-and-giddy reading.

Everything about this is soooo bland. Somebody said it's so bad, it's good. It really is like that.

And to quote a legendary review I once saw here in NU before: this is a good story if you don't analyze it but unfortunately I woke up today and chose analysis.

I'm still giving it a 5 though to pull up ratings because it did boost my serotonin a bit.

This is cute, for the most part. It was light and fluffy, but there are some weird plot holes. I did enjoy it for the most part.

The romance was slow at first then suddenly confession and wow they're married in two months. Bad but not horrible writing, lots of plot holes and unexplained stuff. It's not bad, but it's not amazing. I'm hesitant whether to give a 3 or 4 star.

The whole "mediator" thing honestly didn't really work out well. Feels like its added into the story without any meaning... more>> to it. It didn't play a huge part in the story either, since there were only four minor situations that the MC had "mediated", and those four situations didn't really do anything to the plot.

Dont recommend this, but you can read it as a breather from horrible dog-blood drama novels. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

Actually its a really good short read after reading a stressful novel. The couple here are the total opposite of the previous one I read lmao. They may be shy and hesitant at first but they are honest with their feelings to each other. They COMMUNICATE and that's lovely.

I really do love Xing Xing and Da Bai as a pair but also as individual characters. They have their own quirks and personalities, especially ML, he's so cute with his gap moe, sadly its only highlighted at the early stage. MC... more>> is very proactive and flirty, I love it. He's also very blunt and funny that makes his character entertaining.

The thing is, the plot is shallow. Having less drama is not an issue but some details in the novel are not fleshed out well and feels very lacking. It's really good in the beginning but starts to get boring starting from after they confess. Things appear to be like an outline only and lacks details. Even the summary of this novel is not accurate, only the mentioned couples that MC helped out. The entertainment aspect is kinda meh, well at least the two movie MC participated into have good stories, but it lacks the excitement while they are shooting it aside from the start.

Also I don't like how rushed the ending. We didn't even get an extra what happens next after that last chapter scene, like I need an extra! I didn't even bother to read the extra about the side CP cuz I dunno who this side CP is lol, and if it is that annoying couple (Chu & Shu), no thanks, I don't like them, they reminded me of the couple from the previous novel I read that really pissed the sh*t out of me. <<less

Really a 3.5 but rounded to 4 because the story made me smile a lot.

Pros

    • The story doesn't focus on revenge and is more of the MC receiving the life he missed out in his past life.
    • Lots of cute fluffy moments
    • Not too many indepth descriptions if the movies/shows he was in
    • Little super natural twist with his eyes
Cons

    • The biggest let down of this story was that it felt more like an outline than an actual fleshed out story. This could have been a great story if the characters and story line were fleshed out more
    • Everything is rushed and forced from the romance to him winning awards
    • The ML was a bit one dimensional but cute.
I'm happy I read this novel as there are many cute parts which was a nice change from the drama heavy plots I've been reading. This story is one that will be forgotten easily in time and I probably won't read again.

  1. A sweet, short, heartwarming read. Its very very light, there are no major problems, the mediator stuff isn't a major part, and its mostly focused on the romance between the MC and ML. The pacing might seem a little fast, but the whole novel is only 70 chapters long but it takes them over 6 months to get into a relationship, which is pretty slow compared to other novels. There is so much dog food. So much. And dog-blood drama. It's pretty comedic, even the parts that I don't think were supposed to be funny, like when:
    Spoiler

the MC was like "I'm a monster. I manipulate people's feelings. Goodbye." It was such a cliche and for some reason reminded me of Inso's Law when Ruda was like "I'm a monster because of my eyes" and Dani went "No you are not. Your eyes are beautiful." They are literally the exact same scenarios lmao

    [collapse]

I really liked the romance though. It wasn't one cold shou and a puppy gong. It wasn't one cunning shou and and possesive gong. It was two blushing fools slowly falling for each other and stressing about whether the other was gay.

Don't expect something mind blowing, original, or realistic. The translation is a little better than MLT but it makes sense for the most part. Just read if you want something lighthearted, self indulgent, and a little brainless.

I don't know why the reviews are poor for this story but for me, this novel was actually a good one/ the characters were lovable, no unwanted misunderstandings, enough fluff to make you smile and the plot was pretty good as well.

I normally don't do fluff but honestly I'm rating it really highly because of the characterisations given to the MC and ML. The fact that the ML is the adorable one, easily teased and flustered and MC had a bit of a domineering side to him despite being the shou was the best thing ever. There have been a number of cliches, and of course we also have the romantically-clueless MC in the mix, but I just really like their dynamic ok ┗ (T﹏T) ┛

ML is precious. He literally... more>> ticks all the green flags, where can I find one like him?? I'm glad that MC treasures him as such. Like even though MC can cook for the both of them, ML learned so he can reciprocate! I LOVE LOVE.

MC wasn't necessarily a gary-stu with his advantages being mainly due to him being a film emperor in his previous life, and he can stand his own ground which I really liked. He is a bit nosy though, with the whole trying to mend others' relationships.

The fact that MC confessed about his ability and past life with the ML was a really nice touch. Love me a healthy couple. <<less

Something I won't read twice! Written from quite childish aspect & the plot is shallow. I felt like some teenager was the author of this novel!

*_*

Too fast pacing, no depth in characters. Nothing to say about MC or ML, their feelings in the 1st place didn't make any sense at all to me. But I guess maybe they are good for each other.

... more>> ╮ ( ̄▽ ̄) ╭

Maybe, will recommend if you are a teenager who recently started reading BL or when you have nothing absolutely nothing to do, but somehow want to pass the time.

Poor utilization of a peanut gallery

Introduces a supernatural element uselessly. Like jesus christ, if you're gonna pick up sh*t at least throw it at someone, don't just keep it in your mouth. F*cking underutilized. Author may as well jot have included it at all and just said it wasn't an ability.

Very mary sue, if you like that kinda thing I guess youll rate it higher.

The affection and skinship between ML and MC seems to just come out of nowhere. Author shows no developments towards it at all???

Ahhhhhh! This novel satisfied me with fluffy. Though there were short comes like it was fast faced and the only thing I regret was that there was no extra ch of MC and ML.

I just wish there was face-slapping.

But overall this novel is quite good with it's own style like how it's shown that even if you are older in mentality in front of your loved we sometimes like to act childish.

I understand the sentiments with other reviewers. This story is very safe: nonexistent angst, expected cliches, harmonious families. I was expecting to read more of a scheming story BUT it's STILL a pleasant modern-day story.

Let me elaborate more on how this story is "safe". Our protagonist has a golden-finger that is just a plot device used to progress the story, so it's a bit jarring and has little coverage. But what I like most is that they also leave out fetishizing key words; the stereotype uke is described to be... more>> "small, slender, soft" in the eyes of the love interests. I've honestly had enough of that.

Their is clear favoritism from the ML to the protagonist but what would the story be without that? It's meant to be that they're drawn to each other, but it's pleasant to read. The ML/MC CP are teasing and sweet, I've even had thoughts that the protagonist could be a switch. ML isn't overbearing and this is the first time I've encountered such a teddy bear.

BUT CONS. The writing feels predetermined, which can be pretty boring for some. So bland that the only negative is that it's too bland. But hey, I'm simple and I enjoy.
More importantly READ if you need a break from-

Spoiler

This is the only "fluffy" novel that I've read that isn't directed by a white lotus or a maternal protagonist - White lotuses are damsels that accuses others while acting meek. But moreso in the irritating characterization where they have a large following that magically resolves all conflict for them. Like everyone can co-exists peacefully. AND while I love my child-rearing stories, NOT when those children are flimsy characters only because they are ONLY used as a plot device. It's also really weird when the children they raise turn out to be love interests.

Fluffy, Fast phased, cute, and just adorable really.

Just that the characters and the plot fell a little flat. Except for the MC and the ML the other characters, all felt very one-dimensional. If the author added a little more depth to the plot it would have been quite a good read. Not that it is that bad.

If you are looking for a fluffy, sweet no stress read then this one is a good choice.

Had to stop, the story seems a bit silly. Not sure if it’s because of the translation (which is a bit awkward) or as a result of the really fast-pacing and the shallow characters... I left it unrated cause I didn’t really get to read much, so idk if things get better the further along!

I wasn’t sure about reviewing but I saw another review that I agree with so I wanted to put it out there (proceeds to write an entire essay of thoughts). There is. Noo substance LOL. Its a cute (kinda) quick read, I flew through it and enjoyed it well enough, but I kind of felt like it should have been like 30 chapters. At the same time, the ending felt rushed so... Here are some of my complaints. Mostly plot holes.

Spoiler

1. Theres NO way MC wouldn’t have been able to that ML was literally head over heels for him. 2. Their attempt at substance with MC backstory pre-transmigration was pitiful. And that’s all we got. It would have been interesting to hear how he became an actor, or maybe a specific time his first love left him because of his powers which traumatized him (they mentioned it but it was kinda vague and brief) 3. They literally just dropped the reality show thing? and even when it was still kind of going they dropped the horror aspect which I thought was actually kind of interesting. 3. Only reason I wish this would’ve been longer was because I feel like the Twins movie plot line actually could have been interesting. He got best actor but we barely heard anything about the process. 4. Lin Mu got defeated way too easily I was a little disappointed. Also what was his ending in the novel? Did he literally just have a successful life as the protagonist?? After he knowingly caused the death of multiple people? 5. MC got over ML killing his family in the novel way to quick. He says something about how he wouldn’t be able to trust or forgive knowing what he’d done... Then basically never brings it up again. 6. His powers could’ve been so interesting but they were basically irrelevant.

[collapse]

Basically the gist for those who don’t want spoilers is that the story we got could’ve been 30 chapters tops but there is so much more they could have done if they knew they were gonna have 70 chapters. I guess I had more to say about this than I thought. I would give it a 3.5 but I’ll round up. It was cute it was fine meh. <<less
