[Mind Reading + Drama + Family’s Favorite + Wealthy Family + Entertainment Circle]

Ji Fei’s soul was mistakenly hooked, and she transmigrated into the body of a resentful wife about to be divorced from a wealthy family.

[Oh my! After the divorce, I’ll be rich, beautiful, and single. Who needs a husband? What? I was framed… Divorce! Quick, divorce! If they discover the truth, I won’t be able to escape!]

Mr. Qin, about to sign the divorce papers: ???

Soon after, the company’s trusted executive secretary is taken away by the police.

With the divorce attempt failing, Ji Fei can only continue being the wealthy family’s wife, fortunately with a drama-watching system to keep her company.

[What? The orphan my sister-in-law wants to adopt is her husband’s ex-girlfriend’s child? My brother-in-law is trying to mooch off the family!]

The sister-in-law, who was being pressured to adopt due to infertility: !!!

That night, the sister-in-law kicks out the ungrateful family.

[Shocking! The younger brother-in-law mistook someone for his childhood sweetheart, breaking his true love’s heart. When he discovers the truth, won’t he have to grovel for forgiveness?]

The younger brother-in-law, who was defending the innocent-looking girl and criticizing his fiancée: What!

A few days later, the younger brother-in-law kicks out the innocent-looking girl knocking on his door at midnight and smoothly kneels before his fiancée’s door.

[How wretched! The younger sister-in-law is so blinded by love, about to elope with an arrogant, sleazy man behind the family’s back. She doesn’t even know that the meal was just takeout re-plated by that s*umbag?!]

The younger sister-in-law, who was describing how her boyfriend cooked a meal for her, making her feel true love, and hoping the family would accept her delinquent boyfriend: …

After returning to school, the younger sister-in-law’s head clears up, and she dumps the meal box on the s*umbag’s face.

[I’ve finished all the drama around me, time to check out others’ drama.]

The entire Qin family transforms into drama-hungry spectators: Wait, what drama? Take us with you to watch!!!

Life has three joys: watching drama, gossiping, and joining in the excitement!!

More like 2.5 — and all the points are lost because of MC. After reading further (notes under spoiler), directly 2 stars at most.

How to say... I do love gossip+mind-reading settings. I'm all for silly goofy nonsensical fun with some cliches and plot holes.

But the thing is, with gossip systems, MCs have unlimited access to all kinds of personal secrets. So, to maintain balance, MCs should have if not integrity, but at least some standards!

This MC is utterly shameless, judgy, meddly and absent-minded. She happily and freely comments on things... more>> that honestly shouldn't be commented on, regularly and needlessly calls people s*upid, and, while figuratively diving into dirty laundry, she literally takes pictures and films videos — not of, like, crimes to use as proof, but even of her relatives looking pathetic so she can laugh later with the rest of her relatives.

Spoiler

And some things that made me personally uncomfortable — in a lot of moments being faithful in marriage is emphasized (even emotional and unintentional cheating is condemned), but MC shamelessly plans to search for a lover in the entertainment industry to be with after divorce? I'm sorry, what? It's not girlbossing — it's just very sad, imagine a ML thinking "Oh, and I'll keep an eye out for a busty babe to hook up with when my wife divorces me"? The outrage would've been tremendous.

And after that she goes to what essentially is a host club (not specifically because it's a host club, but she's enthusiastic when learning about host services on arrival) ? Without telling her husband, and takes her single sister-in-law and married mother-in-law with her. That's very hypocritical. So she is allowed to emotionally cheat during her marriage, but everyone else isn't? And then she's regularly all like "damn, my husband will definitely divorce me for his white moonlight, men for sure can't be trusted". Girl, you can't be trusted even more! You either eat it silently, or say out loud that you don't want it — either be faithful in your marriage, or communicate clearly with your husband that the marriage is open for both of you and stop blaming him for hypothetically doing things you already do yourself. System only stops you from divorcing, not from being married on paper only.

Secondly, the whole thing with ML's younger brother — we got it, he's emotionally disturbed after discovering that he was manipulated, and in his callousness contributed to suffering of his severely ab*sed (by her biological family, not by him) fiance, who promptly broke the engagement. He made mistakes, he was wrong, it's on him. But the results felt excessive — not only MC cheats him out of his money, while also shamelessly mocking him, and publicly humiliates him, but author just refuses to let him leave and heal. Moreover, at the very start author warned us that he won't get back together with his ex-fiance, so now I, the reader, feel manipulated when reading how author gives him tiny specks of hope, when we both (me and author) know that it won't work! Sad. He's reduced to comical relief, and only there to grovel and be shamed by MC comparing him to other s*umbags she meets — and there's nothing cathartic or satisfying about it, very soon I just wanted to beg author to let him live in peace.

Also, MC called a woman getting an abortion because she doesn't trust her partner to be good to her and doesn't want her future child to suffer a "juicy story"?! Literally WTF. Don't get me wrong — I don't have a problem with a woman having an abortion, but MC treating it like entertainment crosses my line. It's a tough decision made in a tragic situation, there's nothing fun or "juicy" in this story.

I had so much fun reading this. The melons are sometimes sour, salty, bitter, spicy and even sweet.

Spoiler

ML and his family are so kind, good and pleasant to the FL. Their love for each other brings happiness and peace (amidst the danger and drama that they face in term of their love life).

FL has a (not-so) secret system that helps her to eat melons. But the system isn't omnipotent, which actually gives the ML (and his family) a chance to accompany and help the FL in resolving many crisis and issues.

I like the romance of the leads. I also like the plot. Though sometimes the face-slapping feel a bit repetitive (and even the drama a bit exaggerated).

All in all, I immensely enjoyed reading the story and would definitely recommend this to all 🌈✨ <<less

In a simple words, our MC always met with gossip on her circles starting from close family, entertainment, then rich circles. Become topmost melon eaters using the gossip system and solve the unfairness of the poor by showing the truth.

So if you read till the middle part, you will find out that MC childhood is the same with MC now (transmigrating back to her body) while the one who makes trouble which MC think is the original body is something else.

The truth:

Spoiler

So MC parents died because car accident, the judge of underworld say that they're guilty of killing many people so next life would be in suffer. MC met the judge beg for forgiveness and then was asked to give her bodies to be possessed by a child of parents with full merit and live in suffering in her stead.

So MC original life progress is solving male lead heart scar and then helping everyone around her to good life. MC is a person with a great luck.

What a bullsh*t of a judge that offer MC a very unbalanced transaction.

The result is the gloomy selfish girl enter MC bodies try whatever tricks to marry the male lead as shown on MC original life's track. In the end the world progress got disturbed because she can't replaced MC roles. So starts to the beginning of the story which MC got fooled by the judge to return to her own body and given 'gossip system' which is actually to be used to reveal the secret and fixed the original world.

Once more I said that the transaction is not fair, MC is a person with a great luck that married a man that have a great importance. Basically if it is said to donate and do good deed to help her parents it is already enough but the judge ask MC's body as replacement and also have to suffer in next life, it is illogical and unfair. And in the end MC was told to solve the problem that the judge make because this transaction.

This story is episodic, akin to that of quick transmigration story but without transmigration. MC really just a bystander who judge the drama and not the drama itself.

The first four drama is about the Qin family. As the synopsis explained. But after that, the drama involve outsider story. And here's where the story really begun IMO.

MC really just there to eat melon. And the mind reading part is basically a broadcast melon revelations. Because MC, the Qin family addicted to eating melon.

First, if it weren’t for her, all four “kids” would have ended up deceived and in hell with the partners they originally chose. In my opinion, they are too naive and depicted as if they aren’t in a healthy state of mind. In situations like these, you don’t even need to read minds to understand what kind of people you are dealing with.

Second, the novel contains so many different stories that I often felt a sense of déjà vu—some parts seemed too familiar, as if I had encountered them before.

Third,... more>> I found it difficult to focus on each individual story without losing track of the main characters. There are simply too many side stories, which overshadow the protagonists and make me feel like the depth of their relationships is missing.

Fourth, despite already reaching 403 chapters, the story still isn’t finished. Honestly, I’m getting tired of reading it—it’s slow-paced and, at times, a bit boring. <<less

EDIT: 2.5 stars. It's still a popcorn read, but there are some downer parts, and the philosophy is something I absolutely hate. The MC and everyone around her believe that since there are so many poor, pitiful people out there, they don't need to help others. Nobody's telling them to help everyone in the world, but they proudly say that when they see someone in need of help, they won't worry about them because there are other people who need help. It's like seeing someone stabbed and bleeding out, noticing... more>> it, and thinking, "There are so many people in the world getting stabbed, so why should I call an ambulance?" They see someone lost and ab*sed, but it's not their problem. This makes you realize that Ji Fei is a very selfish person. She only helps rich people, and only the rich benefit in her story. Everyone else is beneath them. Only rich people deserve happy stories. If you are poor and need of help, welp, that is your problem. This story doesn't care about you.

Oh, and if you're a woman, there's an 80% chance you'll be portrayed as a crazy b*tch. This novel, with all its positive feminist themes, loves to make most of the female villains crazy b*tches.

This makes me wonder, what is the point of this story? Face-slapping novels are usually about bad people and wrong views being slapped down by the right way. Yet, now it seems to be just about rich people holding onto their right to earn lots of money and live happy lives. If you're a financially poor character, there's an 80% chance you'll be the villain, and even if you're a good character, you'll be ab*sed and won't get anything good in this story. Only rich have happy stories.

And the ending was so s*upid....

OLD: It's not a great novel, but it's a decent popcorn read – ⭐⭐⭐.

It coulda been better if the author hadn't milked every situation for all it was worth.

A lot of the time, the main characters just stand there and take the insults instead of, like, acting like normal people and walking away. Many chapters are just repeating the same joke or idea from previous chapter in different words. There's a lot of repetition.

Also, the MC's always saying how dumb and melodramatic everything is, but the whole scene is exactly like that, which makes me wonder if the author even realizes they're slapping their own face. The stuff going on around the situation is just as over-the-top and ridiculous!

So, read it if you're looking for some brain-dead fun, but be ready to skim some of the dragged-out parts. <<less

It’s full face slapping novel every arcs is about face slapping unfortunately there is not much plot happening besides that. It’s quite entertaining to read but also a bit repetitive. Feels like it was written as qt but without qt and each arcs focus on different characters linked or not to the FL. The FL is only there to trigger the face slapping.

Very funny and well-written. The entertainment portion only lasts for a short while, but the melons never stop in the wealthy circle, so the entire Qin family basically run from drama to drama. There is an overarching plot, which I found pretty good, if only a little deux-ex machina. Everything has a reason for existence, and the foreshadowing was well-done. Just a very long read.

My initial rating of the novel is solid 4*, but it dropped to 2* due to the following:

  1. The MC doesn't have a sense of urgency when real help is needed, nor does she have the urge to help (in most cases). For example,
    Spoiler

when Qin Qianxi was being bulled by her brother, mom, boyfriend, and Yu Xin, the MC didn't immediately act on it to put it to stop. Instead, she took her sweet time and only led her family to the school where most of the bullying happens to spectate and not necessarily help. In real life, bullying can easily escalate to real and severe injuries, even death, but no... it's not grave and urgent enough for the MC so she didn't prioritize helping her. Yes, she eventually led them to help her and yes, there were other urgent matters, but considering that they're rich, there were a lot of other "system vetted" cousins who could have helped, the help only arrived when so much damage has already been done.

    [collapse]
It's ok to be gossip obsessed, but the MC has no real urge to help people (except where the ML is concerned). She's very apathetic, borderline inhuman, and only loves to spectate. They usually accidentally helped the victims when the MC leads her companions to the place to spectate and watch the drama. Like, where is your moral compass?
  2. The MC has very long monologues, which, when you analyze and think doesn't make the plot feasible. Think of it this way, in a movie, when something is happening and everybody is rushing, the MC just stands there with her very lengthy monologues, and the family pauses with her to listen to what she was thinking. So, in real life, does everything magically slow down to allow them to hear everything, while being caught up in everything that's happening?
  3. Everybody has an issue and a scandal. I dislike novels who often portray that everybody is a rotten fruit except the MC and the ML.

I really like this story and will wait for updates! It’s a good, humorous face-slapping WebNovel. The only thing is that some of the scenes are infuriating!! Ahhh I’m getting heart palpitations from being so pissed off in this new arc- I usually read as soon as an update happens but I’m definitely gonna have to wait for chapters to pile up; this new Arc involving Qin Jiaxi is pissing me off, seeing such a good girl get bullied so hard is!!!! 😡😡😡

Hear me out. It's not bad, but for sugar seekers, it's not that good. It's 80% melon, 15% romance, and 5% about the main characters. But it's kinda hilarious and lighthearted. It's just that, there's no "real" plots. What I mean by that is, although the melons are more or less connected with the MCs, it doesn't affect their character growth or whatnot of them (well, aside from making the other characters developed into melon-seekers? Lol).

Also, the FL, initially was an actress but later, there's really no real work because... more>> she just became a rich wife who seeks gossips everywhere.

Overall, 7/10. I enjoyed it because it's kinda funny, but I deducted 3 points because be it sugar or plot, I'm not that satisfied. <<less

Well it is interesting, for me yeah the face slapping. But it kinda went down the the quality I mean, after the moonlight woman (the FMC that call her that) arc is done for me atleast.

Spoiler

That happen after the arc of tv show is done

[collapse]

And two arc after that one make me feel not good for the character, and the other make me mad at them. And the arc after that feel not the same in face slapping for me in term of comedy.

I suggest too skip that two arc though, really. If you came for comedy like me, that two arc is not funny at all. Even in the closing of arc.

Spoiler

Here you can have the summary of the two arc I mention, I will make it into two spoiler per arc:

1. The arc that makes me feel bad for the character:

There is a crazy woman (an ex type thing), even though that girl is a gold digger yet act like a bit*h in heat toward her ex and a bit*h toward her ex current girlfriend and in the end disappointed her current husband. And the ex boyfriend too is not good person too. Kinda like high ego character. He became *traumatized* kinda like that, well only he alone though that.

The two character that make me feel bad toward them is the elder brother of the ex boyfriend, meaning the current husband of crazy woman, and the current girlfriend of the ex. One having a crazy woman as a wife, and one having scammed as a girlfriend by her boyfriend.

The crazy woman lust after her ex boyfriend even though she gave up and choose his elder brother because of status and money of course. And think that if she can't have him then no one can. Crazy right?

The ex boyfriend, the brother of the husband, still have a lingering thought about her, didn't even tell his family about his past with her, so the family didn't know at all about her past with him. Why I tell that? Because the two of them is a part of conglomerate like family, and the elder brother and the ex girlfriend married only for political reason. So it became a tragedy for the elder brother. Because the Crazy Woman can't have children anymore, and didn't tell the family. The reason? Of course a crazy one too. She became pregnant with the ex but want the family to recognize it as the child of her and the elder one, yet because the marriage didn't happen fast enough she abort it and unable became pregnant anymore as a result.

The ex boyfriend scam her current girlfriend of her emotion and money, the reason? Because he want to see a woman who really love him without his wealth. The thing is he do that for 2 WHOLE YEARS. And the Crazy Woman scheme let the current girfriend see it.

The ending? Not really good as the Crazy Woman is divorced and the ex boyfriend go to another nation without his family extravagant support. Of course the family still support for basic need :). Really lackluster for me.

I don't know how the author even thing about that but it not funny. Basically this arc is half NTR, or borderline I think.

[collapse]

Spoiler

2. The arc after that Crazy Women:

Still another Crazy Woman and another s*um Man. The man in here is worse than the ex boyfriend one, that why I call it Scum. Well the highlight of it still the Crazy Woman, because of her I became so mad at this arc. Congratulations author, you make me mad, even though I came here for comedy.

The Crazy Woman in here is really crazy, she really need to go to mental hospital really. You know the cop friend of ML? He is a good guy really, he didn't deserve to be treated like that by author really. Because this Crazy Woman is his current girlfriend and fiancée too. Damn it :) I really feel sympathetic with him really.

The plot in here is basically an NTR toward him (the police guy). And there NOTHING FUNNY IN NTR you see. Anyone who laugh in this arc, I suggest you check your mental.

So you see, why I call her a Crazy Woman in need of mental hospital is, she basically a recluse type of person that fall in love with her tormentor. Not with the one that rescue her (the police guy), but with her TORMENTOR mind you.

Even though because of her the police guy can't get his dream anymore (he dream to became a pilot), and the police guy is very kind and attentive to her, yet she instead NTR the guy :). He didn't deserve that kind of thing really :).

So you see, the two of them is already in plan of marriage because of her pregnancy. The police guy of course thing it his obviously. So he take responsibility, that is marrying her of course. But the thing is that is not his at all :), it tormentor child of course, classic NTR troupe right?

And the s*um Man, of course his illegitimate child of his father :), so they are brother mind you. Since he think that he can't inherited the family head position, then his child can :)

The ending? Just a divorce in the day of wedding for the Crazy Woman, and a punch in the head and a jail time for the Scum. That's it. Only that, not satisfying enough for this kind of story. It's not funny at all how the thing is happening.

Well I won't speak much about the plot in here, just know that it is NTR, bonafide NTR, 100% of it. It not worth to be read. Even the ending is lackluster too. Nothing funny at all, only a feeling of mad in here.

[collapse]

Well after these 2 arc, the arc became normal again, but the faceslapping is kinda went down in quality for me. I even want to rate this 1 just because of these 2 arc. Thankfully it went back to regular face slapping. What make me mad is, these 2 arc is detailed enough but the ending is lackluster. Ah yes correction, I rate this as 3 after the TV show arc

Spoiler

These two arc happen at if I remember it right the start is 210 and end at 245

The author tried so hard to write a funny novel but the fact that the entire Qin family had to made all to be mentally deficient that it was necessary for them to hear the MC's thoughts before they can make any sound decision just doesn't sit right with me.

Moreover, the MC's extremely supeficial personality is quite unlikeable to me.

This was good but there was just a lot of side characters and gossip stories that made the whole thing repetitive. Be mindful that the FL and ML’s romance takes up less than half of the storyline, most of the storyline is just uncovering other people’s life and secrets.

Its a funny story about a gossip system. Basically it focuses on the drama around the FL and she doesn’t actively help/resolve it. She merely shows the truth through her gossip system and keeps quiet. Honestly if the rest of them couldn’t hear the truth, she might not even help them through the problems.

The first few arcs are about ML’s siblings love issues as per the summary. I didn’t read past Chapter 58 so I’m wondering if Qin Zhao, the third brother, ever gets back together with Chu Xinyue? Author... more>> mentions that they wouldn’t and I really hope so haha. Sucks to be you QZ.

May pick this up again later if I want a brainless gossipy novel to read. <<less

It was a good novel. Well more like it was a good gossip magazine, but I liked the fact that it didn't have any random gossips. It was all interconnected and there was actually a reason for all the gossips to be there in the end which made the story more interesting. Loved the Win family and ML and MC was pretty good too.

It's a good read, fill with drama and face-slapping situations. I like the female lead and her personality. However, the drama on it made me tired:; (∩´﹏`∩) ;:

It is kinda repeating. After the female lead save the Qin family from all the drama, other people drama/gossip become the main target for FL.. For someone that had read multiple Cnovel type of drama-plot, I felt most of it was overused plot. The type that made me mad and want to slap the s*upid characters LMAO..

To clarify, FL and ML never had... more>> any drama or misunderstanding after the first early chapters. They with all Qin family is just the enjoyer of everybody drama.

Good characters but plot is repeating for my opinion. The younger me probably like this but unfortunately, I don't like it now (/ω\) <<less

Eating melon army... here we come...

This novel literally was full of melon eating and face slapping. As face slapping lover, I absolutely loved it.

Although sometimes, I feel that some cases were very similar to each other. The villain was either the s*umbag, white lotus, or green tea. But it's still satisfying when those villains got retributions after harming MC's families/friends.

But I still feel it didn't enough because I want to see more of MC and ML's moment. It's not that the author neglected their romance development. It's just...I wish there... more>> would be more extras of their little family's life. I also want to see the ending of side character's love story because most of them ended up being open ending.

Note: MTL was very hard to read. It's very confusing especially if you couldn't read mandarin. Maybe, it's better to read the translated version for better experience. <<less

This is fun if you want something dumb to read.

I will mention this, bc I haven't seen many people bring it up before, but there are some weird homophobic stories. There are 2 stories of 2 gay men trying to trick straight men into a relationship with them. Totally unnecessary. I dont mind having gay ppl being a villain but this is the only time where gay ppl were mention.

Also, as most of these stories go, there is a misogynistic undertone. The villains are almost always women. And if men... more>> villains ade invovled, they do weird stuffs bc of said women villain.. But again, this is pretty normal in c-novel <<less

It's okay, but I couldn't finish it.

Pros: MC does try to figure out ways to help the people involved in the gossip when she finds out things too horrible. She is hindered by the lack of evidence and a very reasonable explanation that spouting her truths without evidence would not be helpful and could even backfire and make things worse, but she does try to wrack her brains to figure out a way to help, usually to be delighted because her husband and in-laws "just happen" to figure out a... more>> way to fix things for her. This is done a lot better than some other gossip-oriented novels I've read where the gossipers appear completely devoid of conscience.

Cons: Maybe this overall theme just isn't the right fit for me, but I find it incredibly uncomfortable to hear MC and the in-laws getting all excited about the drama and the "juicy gossip" even when there are people getting hurt right in front of them. Yes, they do try to figure out ways to help the victims figure out the truth and not be deceived, but the feelings are still icky at times. Too much excitement while others are suffering. Even if most of it is directed at the villains getting their comeuppance... that sort of face slapping is fun to read in a disconnected novel with fake characters, but in real life, the victims are going through an emotional hell even if it is eventually resolved. Again, I know the whole point is that she's gossip loving, but the excitement still feels really inappropriate and unkind.

Anyway, for a gossip-theme novel, this is a good one. I think it's just not the best theme for me. <<less
