A cute story about a hard working single father (god) and the shenanigans that are caused by his lovable (demon) children. One day daddy went to the store (abyss) to get some milk (exp) but got lost on the way (disapeared in a rift), only to come home a thousand years later to find his house a mess and his children running around causing problems in the neighborhood (world). The novel is set in a different world that has many different species - Gods, Humans, Elves, Abyss Creatures...

Our MC was selected to play a game when he and 6 other people were summoned to this world to become "Heroes". They all have their own abilities and MC has the ability of "creation". This is when he starts to create his "children", small weak creatures.

Our novel starts ~8000 years in the future after the Heroes were summoned. MC had gotten into trouble and "died" when he suddenly found himself... more>> alive again but in the future. So now, as the others mentioned - his goal is to find his kids again and figure out what has happened. His 6 friends also seems to have vanished.

While MC is searching for his kids, his kids have been missing him and tirelessly searching for him too! So they'll pop up one by one. While the family is being reunited, they also figure out that there was a conspiracy before this. Someone was trying to kill their father!!!! So a lot of the novel is about the kids finding the truth about the Heroes Summoning, the betrayals and deaths that have occured during the 8000 year gap and also who wanted to kill their father!! Not only that... the kids went amok and did a lot of bad things when Father was away and now they're trying hard to whitewash themselves before Father finds out the truth.

While all this is happening, MC is happily staying in his quiet corner to level up and become stronger so that he can protect his kids and also figure out what is happening.

Pros:

- There is a lot of detective work and mystery in this novel! The kids try their best to figure out the events that happen in this world and while digging up new clues, they'll interpret each clue to find out more. Sometimes their hypothesis isn't correct and then they go back to the drawing board. As a reader, it is very fun to follow their thought process.

- The author is definitely a cat lover. SO MANY CUTE CATS.

Cons:

- There are soooo many characters that I lose track of them all. Some kids are more favored than others too so they have more screentime lmao. <<less

The premise sounds good, but quite frankly, with all the differing POVs (and there are a LOT given this guy popped out 24 kids before his untimely disappearance), it drags on quite a bit. Though it shows there's roughly 150 chapters, I personally would say it's about the length of a normal CN with 400 chapter.

Also all the kids have pretty much the same attitude towards their dad: adoration, respect, bursting with filial piety. I am frankly more surprised we didn't get 1 or 2 that felt resentment, but maybe... more>> they just got over it in the 8, 000 years he disappeared from their lives.

As for the plot stuff, it's got a generous helping of the MC showing off (thanks to his kids) not that he's aware of it due to plot reasons (and maybe personality reasons too).

As at chapter 112, we learned

the main antagonist who caused the MC's disappearance way back then is the embodiment of evil itself that manifested itself in one of the MC's old acquaintances called Arnold. The narrative keeps pushing that Arnold is the bad guy here but the back of my brain is still somewhat convinced he's actually been trying to help the MC. There was one throwaway line about how the MC reminisced about Arnold and how the guy said he'd help the MC get back home for sure (the MC was isekaiied from Earth... at least an Earth-like planet anyway) which my brain latched onto and came up with the hypothesis that the reason the antagonist captured 5 of the other 6 heroes and was trying to capture the last one may have been to send the MC home. It's a bit of a stretch, and it seems like that's not where it's going, but it's a fun thought train.

Also, at one point there were 7 Great Magic Clans that were revealed to be corrupt and aided in the abduction of the heroes, and I couldn't help but think 'Really? ALL of them? What the hell? Surely there must've been one or two that weren't corrupt to the core... I mean, why would these fellows want to cover for their ancestors mistakes when it's clearly the dumb thing to do when

MC with the power of creation reawakens after thousands of years, not knowing the cute and innocent children he created have long established themselves as powerful abyssal lords over the passage of time. Follow along as his children attempt to hide their troublesome and conflict-ridden history from MC while navigating the reason behind his disappearance.

Immature, cheesy, extremely on the nose. A girl in her teens, writing fanfic on popular ongoing anime, would probably have done a better job.

The fact that this is rated 4 stars - same number of stars as, say, 'Tai Sui' by Priest, is an insult to common sense.

On the surface this story is about estranged children finding their way back home to their father. But, it goes a little deeper. The mystery, the problem solving, the tension, the fluff, slice of life and found family, all of it makes this novel a 5/5 for me.

Other things to note;

  • This story has no FL or ML (no romance)
  • The pacing may feel a little weird at times
  • Some things may not make sense; [a mystery isn't good without a few wrong leads ;) ]

I like this novel, in fact a part of me loves it. It is a surprising sincere take on the misunderstanding genre that flips between being cute and being power fantasy with surprising ease. However, the formula can wear on you if you expect anything else besides what it offers in it's first 20 chapters.

Tension and stakes are nonexistent, relying more on the mystery it builds which I personally don't find gripping. This causes it to suffer because, especially early on before you get a sense of the power scale... more>> it can have very solid build up it just yanks away. Being honest, this nearly made me drop it but I ended up staying for the soft fuzzy stuff which it does well.

On this point this is oddly enough one of the misunderstanding novels, where the core premise has the most legs, The main character sees his kids with rose tinted glasses and the kids are very active in hiding their various habits from him. It ends up with none of the cast feeling like they have one braincell.

4/5. It's not for everyone but if it is for you it's near perfect. <<less

so good, the mix of familial feels and the mystery surrounding MC's backstory is very unique. Definitely consider reading it if you like a webnovel filled with warmth and intrigue. There's also lots of comedic moments mixed in with the emotional ones.

the plot itself is also quite rare, there's subtle foreshadowing that makes you go "oh!" when some plot points are revealed. The author's writing really succeeded in establishing the characters. Even with the increasing cast, I can still distinctly remember each character's personality and ability. The worldbuilding was also... more>> really fleshed out.

while sometimes you get the sense that the webnovel is more centered around the "cats" than the actual MC, we still get to slowly understand the type of person that the MC truly is. He appears calm and tranquil, but once you slowly peel back the layers, you realise that he also feels stressed. He simply uses his "cats" as a motivation to keep growing, in order to protect his children.

this is a really thought-provoking webnovel. I was expecting something a lot less developed from the title, but I ended up really loving this webnovel. I'm eager to see how the plot continues to pan out. Ps. The translators did a wonderful job, and each chapter was really long!! <<less

Love the concept. Love the execution.

I like the interactions between the siblings, the distance between the characters, the rhythm of the story and so many more.

With all the build-up the author did until now, I expect an incredible story. I wish for the author to take their time and not rush anywhere. The story has a delicate balance that draws me in and if its execution is rushed, it will bring all the effort invested to waste.

Wow wow wow, love love this novel! Soo intriguing and also had lots of funny moments which didn't take away from the sentimental parts.

I'll say Xiu & the kids are my favorites, especially when the kids start to banter lmao.

oh they ALL have father complex but some of them are VERY severe *cough* Boris & Sitri *cough*. Then you have big brother Baal, the strongest demon in the whole universe, the whole world shakes when he talks not to talk of a single punch which shatters stars & sub spaces... more>> 😩😩. Every single demon & god shake in fear at the mention of Baal.

Then there's the MC who's father filter has no boundaries lmao, his children can do no wrong in his eyes. But surely, he starts to suspect that they're hiding something from him, then they pull out the cute kitty looks which melts his heart & he forgets lol.

But at some point, he DOES feel they're keeping secrets but he doesn't want to force them & waits for them to tell him the truth.

the funniest part is when big brother Baal found out what his siblings have been doing (them finding their father & didn't tell him) & most of them decided to 'Rebel against Big Brother' but they ended up getting their butts kicked by just one punch & sent into the infinite trial (Baal's domain) lmao. This novel will definitely be in my favorites & will re-read it again.

So far the premise of this story is really interesting, I see how it was so highly rated, it's a fun story. My only issue so far is the translation can be somewhat awkward at times due to phrasing, although this actually gets a lot better in the later chapters it seems. Overall, the author's broader vision for the world building, story and plot is unique, so I'm looking forward to more!

This is a feelgood story first and foremost, not a powerlevelling one.

Father reunites with his creations little by little and the creations scheme to hog father time and keep as many siblings in the dark as they can to monopolize him haha

There is also the underlying conflict but its something that really isnt surprising and you might be able to guess it relatively early because it has deep foundations and hints but also not that important, family antics more important really.

Some parts are also a mini philosophical class on the... more>> meankng of life and what is needed for creation so if you're not interested that might bore you but personally I found it quite interesting and also unable to be separated from the roots of the story theme <<less
