Narumi Kouta was a second-year high school student. His mother remarried, and along with his new father, he now had a talented step-sister. Unable to adjust to his new life, he took a part-time job to escape from his new family and spent his time at a family restaurant until the last minute on his way home.

One day, Kouta noticed that there was another student who was killing time at a certain seat at a certain time, just like him. Her name was Kazemiya Kohaku. She was a celebrity at Hoshimoto Gakuen High School, where Kota attended. She had the same beauty that rivaled that of the popular idol sister, but unlike that sister, she was a cool beauty who kept people away from her.

Although they were both aware of each other’s presence, they never came into contact with each other. One day, however, when the restaurant was crowded, Kouta happened to be shown to a seat next to Kohaku. Furthermore, a phone call came in from his family member. When he finished that call, Kohaku started talking to him…

“…Narumi, are you also having a hard time staying home?”

Their relationship began as “just killing time together at a family restaurant at night.” At first, it was supposed to be just that.

“Hey, we’re surprisingly……” “We’re very much alike. In more ways than one.”

–As they spend time together, they gradually begin to be attracted to each other.

This is really good. The beautiful moments of the MC and fML always makes my heart race!╰ (*°▽°*) ╯. It also has a good story lines and have that fluffy and soft theme. The way the characters progress with their relationship is always good. This series is one hell of a ride for people's who only like one fmc's

Great story. MC feels uncomfortable in his new home and makes excuses to be outside, by chance befriending another student who he's able to share his woes with. There is no villain, as everyone is just trying to live with their flaws and their guilt.

I have to wonder how reviewer GreenRiver thinks 'realistic' parents would act. They are quite believable in this story. GreenRiver seems to give 5 star reviews to isekai and harem manga, so perhaps they think 'realistic' parents go "ara ara" and hand out cond*ms when their... more>> child brings home a friend? <<less

It's not what I usually read, but it's been enjoyable so far. The translation is good, the characters are MOSTLY believable, and the character growth and relationship development are decent. The premise is interesting, but a bit unrealistic.

Let's be honest, if everyone in a novel were normal/ordinary the story wouldn't happen. People would make rational decisions, there wouldn't be any out-of-the-ordinary developments, and we wouldn't read it!

With that said, the parents seemed excessively unrealistic. But if the parents had acted like parents it would have been a very boring story,... more>> so just go with it.

Sceptreofthenines seems to think the parents reacted normally to their children fighting. I don't know what sort of family he/she comes from, but the parents in this story seem to be "hands off" to the point of abandonment. STEP UP AND PARENT! But sitting teens down and having a family meeting, a conversation, or maybe even get a counselor involved, would be boring. <<less

Really enjoyed reading this. The premise is basically our MC and FL hanging out avoiding going home to their families due to situations being awkward and uncomfortable at home. Here they interact and manage to get close to each other due to their similarities while running away from their problems at home. The bonding process is organic and doesn't feel unnatural and the flow of their relationship is smooth and enjoyable to keep up with. Both the MC and FL are likeable and their interactions are very fun to read... more>> and sometimes adorable.

MC issue at home is basically (heavy spoiler here so read at your own risk)
Spoiler

his biological dad was one of those test mark supremacists and when the MC failed to meet his expectations the situation at his home got bad and the atmosphere in the house turned sour splitting their family. In his new family, they seem like a family but the situation is a facade that seems like a sandcastle barely being kept up. This is due to his family designating the situation of the MC's academic perfomance as a taboo (which MC really doesn't care about) subject making the situation really uncomfortable at home which makes the MC feel like running away to the cafe is better. Another thing that makes the atmosphere wierd at home is his new step-sister's obsessive compulsion to make the family "seem like a family" since she was pointed out her whole life by others for not having a mother (i think she passed away) so she desperately desires a "complete family". With the MC running away regularly, the family isn't "complete" according to her so she regularly confronts the MC making it even more awkward.

FL's issue is (once again heavy spoiler)
Spoiler

her having a super sister in showbiz so to their bit*h mother focuses on the sister leaving FL neglected. Also to avoid dragging down her sister, the bit*h mother regularly scolds and reminds FL to avoid causing problems and just leaves her alone with cash. BTW the sister is very good and actually loves the FL very much.

I recommend giving it a read if you are tired of generic romcoms. Although this isn't super-special, it is still different and worth a read. Rating should be 4.2 for me. <<less

Written [translated] great, the whole plot and family stories and dramas, cool - maybe a bit crazy plot from arc 1, but so be it - tolerable.

The female character is great and likeable.

And here he appears, all in white, the MC.

Ups and downs. On the one hand, he plays the case very well, he has balls, there is no hesitation when holding hands, there are no dramas when inviting people to his home, etc. On the other hand, he is densely overloaded. But seriously, all the cliché phrases are present
She is blushing? Possible solutions
-it's hot,
-she is exhausted,
-she's sick.
She says something that obviously shows... more>> that she likes him
-he misunderstood something
-she conveyed something wrong
-she tells him to forget it. He says that if so, he will forget.

I'm a bit angry that I had to add the warning about dense protagonist to the tags. If I had been prepared for this from the beginning, I might have had a slightly different perception of the whole thing.

//that was wrong time to write review [<c50] - after c50 density dissapears and fluff arrives. <<less

It's pretty good, and I like the writing, but at times it's too dramatic and shifts from a realistic tone to an almost anime like development.

Nice story where both ML and FML help each other.

first story arc was the strongest while the second seems to be a little weaker

This is a nice read. Good pacing and the development of the characters is nice, even though if it's a bit unnatural.
Spoiler

MC is just the slightest bit dense in the current arc.

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to for this one.

I went into this with very few expectations, expecting it to follow your regular cookie-cutter, Japanese web novel pathing, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

First of all, the translation from Story Seedling is one of the best translations I've seen out there. While there are a few mistakes with an occasional pronoun, the prose flowly well and contributed a lot to my enjoyment of the story.

I really liked the main characters. They have that authentic rational irrationality that... more>> teenagers have, and writers so often fail to properly convey. Their problems felt real, and the way they dealt with them felt genuine as well.

While the male-protag does suffer from your generic denseness for a while, it doesn't last that many chapters before it ends. Progress between the two happens pretty quickly between the two, but it felt very natural.

The worst part is that so few chapters are available to read, and it was over so quickly. <<less
