both are competent and accomplished adult people who lived twice and died in their mid twenties. She transmigrated and he was reborn as his teenage self. So, it's a romance of two relatively young adults who are in teenage bodies.

She is a scientist, biology and cutting edge agricultural practices is her thing, and she happens to have a tiny magical space with a magical spring, a stash of modern medicines and a survival book with recipes for everything, even for handmade toilet paper in case it is lacking after one has transmiggrated!

He was a high level official in his first life, never married, never even kissed. After rebirth he is initially driven by hatred towards his step-mother who killed his mom and two siblings in his first life and poisoned him so he did not live long either and then by desire to save and protect their lives in this life. He just never expected to find love in this lifetime, let alone to awaken from poisoning (thanks to the FL), reborn and already married! The FL married him when he was on his deathbed, unconscious, and dirt poor to escape her own relatives from hell.

Warning: this is a Chinese revenge novel dealing with parents of the main couple on both sides, the revenge will last the entire novel (!!!) and it gets very ugly eventually (children taking a s*xual route (r*pe drugs, etc.) to fight their mu*derous parents, relatives from hell and their evil associates).

For me the tactics that the FL and her husband deployed on their relatives and adversaries eventually became too disgusting, too dirty and inhumane to continue reading. It wasn't funny nor awesome anymore. It was truly low and boring. The enemies can do it, the main characters should not.

In my opinion, the writer got carried away and spent too much ink on describing evil people and evil deeds in too much detail while the positive things and good people and good deeds were barely mentioned if at all. The FL and the ML who initially craved companionship and good family, a home, totally lost it.

They were not just separated they broke all ties with their blood relatives, their parents no longer recognizing them as their children and wishing them dead and buried. Yet all we read about is how they relate to each other, on every page until the very last page, if it is not about the FL and her maiden family, it's about the ML's father and his new wife and paternal grandma, uncles, cousins et al.

Such life full of hatred, darkness, scheming and insanity does not deserve living it and such a novel was no longer worthy of my time. What's even worse is that the writer completely devalued all that struggle, the second life of the FL and the ML, by reframing it at the end as the time the FL spent in coma in this life (several months), where her soul eventually returns after dying from the old age in ancient China.

So, not only the novel is the figment of the novelist's imagination, the FL's life for 700+chapters is basically a figment of her imagination while her body surrounded by her adoring family rests in coma in a hospital, injured in the explosion in her agricultural research lab. And what's actually "real" for her (and us), after she awakens, is only covered in a couple of extra chapters.

Such novels usually deserve zero stars from me, not my thing, but I will keep the five star rating for this one, because the first 100 - 125 chapters were spectacularly good. If you enjoy revenge novels, this one contains literally hundreds of ways of being mean and the corresponding revenge tactics described in it. And the c*ckroaches, like the FL's father-in-law, never die, not even in the end. They are simply left behind along with their entire world as the FL awakens here and now.

the MC has a magic storage full of plants and magic water + a book on HOW TO MAKE ALL TECHNOLOGY BY HAND written by a friend just IN CASE SHE GETS TRANSMIGRATED. Aparently the 21st century she comes from enough ppl get killed by truck-kun to just cary manuals on how to make everything from bombs to steel weapons to cement. Shes barely uses the magic space & water. The book with ALL TECHNOLOGY is her batman belt of infinite mcguffins

She has $$ and cheap materials/labor. instead of building the fantasy dream home, she builds a 21st century house. Why invent a shower which you have to constantly load and heat water by hand... when you could have a fantasy open air bath fed by a spring?? Imagination is the limit here. She keeps introducing ugly modernism like modern couches, skateboards, and porcelain toilets. The asthetic is ugly mass-industrial but ppl keep acting like it is revolutionary. Dont tell me the ancients didnt know what cusions are and think a plain ikea couch is prettier than a hand carved piece of literal solid wood art

What does the ancient world need right away? the MC introduces from her OP book of practical intructions for making all technology:

explosives- briefly shown in the begining and never mentioned again.

concreete- not bad! single most important thing she introduces that could be used for dams, constructions, roads. Revolutionize the infrastructure of a society... but its treated very blase. Like it is the most minor achievement

mahjong &cards- typical of the genre but tested & true. yes acient people like games.

skateboards and scooters- wut? why???

ceramic tiles- yeah I call bulsh*t on anxient china having a ceramic industry and not making tiles.

porcelain toilet and shower- why not make something more confortable that 21st cent mass produced cr*p?

Instant ice, toilet paper, kniting patterns, corn, potatoes, peppers, iron weapons, stoves, rubber, glass, mirrors, cotton, cotton picking machines, using goose down to pack blankets/pillows/jackets, writing paper, tofu, kang beds, fireworks, sailing ships, maps of the world, identifying non-poisonous mushrooms.

It feeling like she has infinite "recipes" for technology and "survival guides" fulll of stuff the ancients probably knew, or at least had creative region specific alternatives for. Its inventing concreete and steel to make a bridge when all you needed was wood and expecting the ancients to not look at you like a crazy person for inventing 2 industries and taking years to make something they could make in a day the most simple way. Its trying to solve problems with way too intense a solution, in a way that gives the ancient people no credit for ingenuity.

Furthermore, the outcomes are convenient. All tech she introduces are 100% accepted and loved with no downsides and stepping on no ones toes... unless shes giving the tech to a bad guy in which case suddeny there are negative consequences [which she 100% planned for and they were too foolish to see]

the MC & MLs estranged family. The drama going on in the side is actually really fun

how every villian character rolls over and lets the MC verbally abuse them. Its easy to win an agument of wits if your opponent never fights back. Intense double standard on what destroys a reputation and what ppl might get away with. MCs father-in-law is apparently a successful general... but when side characters say hes weak and afraid of his daughter in law... yeah he is. Threat level 0% and hes a PRIMARY ANTAGONIST. My guy is dumb, cowardly, and bad at strategy. How did he become a general? bc aparently he rose up the ranks on him own

used repeatedly as a weapon to morally punish the "bad guys"

what it really does is make me sympathize with the "bad guys" and hope they will be a little more competent and mu*dery so the gross characters just go away (preferably underground).

no villian is competent. Every villian is a joke and becomes braindead and innocent once the MC gets involved. The prefeered method of fighting the bad guys is leaving them alone and trusting they will repeatedly trip while walking on the street and fall face first into pies. They sure do. Babies could could pose more of a challenge

Most of the time, the villains will propose the horrible r*pe, miscarriage first and our protags will retaliate and the bad things will happen to the villains instead. Still doesn't make it right though. One particular scenario was when the Second Prince wanted to get rid of Ge Chunru's younger sister Ge Chunyi who married him and became his side concubine. She was plotting to kill off his main wife and the Second Prince found out. So he got this terrible ugly abuser man to sleep with Ge Chunyi and made her pregnant. And when she finally gave birth, he revealed that he asked the other man to r*pe her. Like WTF. I can't accept that. Even if you want to scheme against her, isn't using all this s*x related schemes just sick. Anyway, lots of stuff like that happens that is related to s*xual assault and domestic violence. So if you can't stomach that, then this isn't for you since the whole novel is 99% about faceslapping.

There were 2 version of the ending which was equally bittersweet for me although it's still a happy ending.
