First it's a cute story I guess, it's just not for me (although I finished it). It's starts out fluffy and funny, but at chapter 32 (when they had to do their testing and we also found out that Zhou Le kept faking his test to appear beta) there was like this shift for me idk why but I started to fade out and by like chapter 50 they still weren't together (mind you it's 67 chapters in total) I felt drained and honestly slightly upset. Once they are established (ch54) it went smoother for me. I enjoyed they 12 chapters relationship (and of course there's the going abroad trope).

But my biggest drawbacks were all the plot holes and foreshadowing yet nothing happened.

The side couple ending left a bitter taste in my mouth, it was rushed and lowkey stained the story. But than again that's just My opinion

I have no problem with them drinking and smoking underage (despise my hatred for them irl) as ive read plenty of stories like that, which no longer surprises me.

the story does have it's positives, they're aren't any face slapping drama persay. I like the friendships that MC has with his friends and also ML with his own, I also like that instead of straight up giving the MC money to solve his problem, the ML helped him out in his own way by decreasing his burdens for him It just wasn't mine cup but it's surely someone else's <<less

This novel gave me the F4 vibes but with 3 instead of 4. The story isn’t unique but I thought it was still enjoyable. The ML is always there to support the MC, silently helping him. Their relationship is very sweet and I liked the side couple and their friends as well.

How to put it... the characters are a little... lackluster?

The MC is this sunshine money-oriented individual who captures the cold and reticent school grass ML's heart by being... I guess like a cute stereotypical shy small but happy animal. Nothing is really special about the MC other than that, and sure he has a hard life, but his reaction to pivotal matters (hiding his gender to the extent of potentially engendering himself) and his reliance on the ML (ML is helping him at every turn, and it's a question on... more>> whether it's actually deserved) makes it a little hard to feel anything for him.

Meanwhile the ML has the personality solely built only for the MC, so there's not much going on there. He's constantly helping him hide his gender, deal with his money-making antics, and etc. without really showing much of dimensionality.

Not to mention, the side characters are even more not likable. There's one of ML's friends, who's super hotheaded and just really mean-mouthed. There's also two of MC's friends, where one is heartthrob obsessed (her only personality) and the other is just there (serving to help the MC but also to meek when it comes to big matters, allowing the ML to step in).

Everything here... just exists to me without an appeal. I think 3 is a strong rating from me, but since I don't have a particular dislike for the novel, that's my rating. <<less

I kinda like that the cliché of "poor MC, rich ML" was used in this high school ABO setting, in contrast to the other novels where they all are rich, reminds me of the past. The fact that the ML group were like the F4 made me laugh.

I did cry tho, my poor boy was working hard, and he was suffering injustices left and right. At least the ML was there for him.

Started off good then around the middle to the end the plot just became increasingly ridiculous to the point that I was annoyed by the end of it. Really just finished it cause there were only a few more chapters left. There were also some plot holes or inconsistencies that were never really addressed.

sounded like he was gonna cause issues but ended up never being mentioned again. It was also never explained what his beef was with the ML even though the author was doing some foreshadowing type writing at the start

there was a section where their relationship soured but then in some random chapter they were suddenly alright again with no explanation. The ending was also kinda dumb about them like wtf

honestly felt unnecessary but there was a drama about how ML and his best friend (the ML of the side couple) had to go abroad for study and stay there for a few years. Maybe the drama between MC and ML made sense cause MC be poor but the one with the side couple honestly didnt need to happen since the other guy was also rich and could have totally just followed him abroad like he ended up doing anyway at the end of it

also why bother making the setup in highschool anyways especially if you’re gonna level up the maturity levels by making them go to bars to drink and smoke and whatever even though they’re in second year of highschool and not legal age. Cracked me up when in one of the bar scenes the MC and his friends even mentioned feeling like the bar scene wasnt for their highschoolness

Downright mess that could’ve been better since the stuff that happened before they were officially together was pretty fluffy <<less
