I knew what I was getting into, but it was worse than I expected. This is too much of a red flag factory for me to ignore.

MC is 18 years old. ML is in his thirties.

Why ML became interested in MC? Because MC is mature for his age.

How ML approached MC? He became a direct boss of MC. Details under cut:

MC was hired by a company on a verge of bankruptcy and became an assistant of MLs cousin, who ran away from home to achieve success by himself. That cousin often praised MC in front of ML (that's how he became interested). Once it became clear that the company was about to close, cousin offered MC to come with him to a new work place (ML's company). MC refused. When ML learned that, he bought this company.

After that ML abused his authority to became close to MC. 12 chapters in, and he already asks inappropriate and personal questions that MC can't not answer because ML is his employer.

Also, he is aware about MCs schedule outsider of work (like what places he frequents and at what times), so we can safely say that ML stalks MC.

And everyone. I mean, everyone around ML are appalled at his behaviour, but do nothing to stop this. Why? Because it is played for laugh.

Also, if you were hoping that MC will fight for success by himself, then no, he already have MLs backing, nothing can touch him now. Oh, I am sure there will be scenes that show how badass he is, but with ML guarding his back, what he can not dare to do?

Add to that some illogical behaviour from side characters for the purpose of pushing a plot forward...

Cousin after ML bought his company: was moping that ML now can control his career. As if he doesn’t understand that if he himself went to ML it would've brought same result.

A pleasant surprise.

A brisk and well-controlled 45 chapters that completely cut the fat popular in other webnovels. It's a kind of healing story about addressing past regrets without becoming overly submerged in them. Very light face slapping to keep things from being dull, and a warm emotional development between the leads. The MC is mature, actually acting like a thirty-something person his age, and the ML is vivid and lively instead of a boring iceberg archetype.

Although the MC has a typical "no emotional experience so he's a little slow-witted to... more>> MLs advances", it doesn't feel as frustrating or s*upid as other novels to me. There's heavy implication that it's not that the MC is too s*upid to realise, but rather that unpleasant experiences from his previous life and his insecurity over the power imbalance between himself and the ML in this life caused him to refuse to acknowledge what he already realised. But there is no melodramatic, soap operatic dragging out of things or misunderstandings. They have a natural and healthy development.

If I had to state a con, it's full of superficial relationships. The best friend from the beginning who helps MC escape his family is never addressed again until the ending chapter. The cousin of the ML who supported MC and inadvertently introduced the leads also disappears and is only mentioned again in passing. When it's a story about warm human connection, it's sort of sad that the actual human connections end up very negligible.

Overall, I recommend this novel. It's short enough that it doesn't feel like a loss even if it isn't your cup of tea. <<less

when his agent asked him how he would keep MC by his side, he wondered out loud "should I say 'I'm pregnant, you have to take responsibility'?" 😂

i like MC too; he didn't use his first life's knowledge to get rich and helped his previous friends to avoid harms with very limited means.

the ending felt a bit abrupt, though

It is... ok. 3, 5 stars. It has only 45 chapters and some parts feels out of nowhere, there was not enough build up, early characters completely forgotten and show up only in the end. And with that small amount of chapters author still played "dense protagonist" card (not for to long, but long enough to me be annoyed), I almost dropped at 35 (or near that) chapter, and finished it only because it is short. There is no explanation why he and his friend/enemy was reborn. There is some... more>> interesting thoughts, a bit of comedy and not much drama. <<less

It's ok, there are parts I really loved, parts I didn't like, and parts that were random. The story is kind of a mess, I'm not sure the author had a clear set of goals. If the author spent another couple of drafts polishing, this story could have been great.

In the beginning I really liked the MC, in the middle he became boring, and by the end I liked him again, such a rollercoaster. Again I don't think the author was clear on the MC's character set up. I do... more>> like how open he is about the relationship when they finally get together.

he was kind of a scum man in his previous life and I didn't see him make up for a lot of it. MC is basically selfish, he only changes things so he can be happy, he only helped the girl once and never followed up

ML who had always been single because he is picky, fell for MC from a photo... but it's Chinese danmei so, whatever. ML's character was fine, even with the constant reminder from everyone that he is 30 and MC is 18. We didn't get to know much about ML's background or family but a little paragraph at the end.

The ending was okay? It felt a bit rush and the major MC picked was really out of left field

The author completely forgot about a few characters. Curious what happened to the agent and the other one that rebirthed.

The translation was great. The MTL was easy, some parts were jumbled, but not too bad. <<less

I finished this some time ago and while I don't remember much details about the plot, I remember how the story generally made me feel.

I enjoyed it, more than I thought. Coupled with how short it was, it's a pleasant reading experience. The whole time I was reading, I was motivated to finish it. I feel like some of the other reviews are a bit too critical. It's only 45 chapters and the entire premise is romance between the MC and ML. It's fiction and meant to be fiction. Suspend your belief! Yes there is a large age gap but honestly it's not terrible - especially once the ML learns about how MC regressed. Again there are plot holes. I think someone commented how the friend appears in the beginning and then is irrelevant until their appearance at the end. But it felt natural... more>> to me since there was no point to add him in the other chapters. I think the author did a decent job in keeping things succinct. Obviously there are quite a bit of loose ends and unexplored areas of the plot but it's only 44 chapters. I think the relationship progressed quite nicely. It was cute. I like how the MC achieved his goal in the end

Currently read up to c25. I think this story is great. There were moments where I and to laugh. The MC can be quite funny sometimes. And the ML can be ridiculous. As always, one needs to suspend their belief a bit. One needs to suspend their belief a bit tho. The story overall is quite short so I'm not expecting much. So far we know nothing of why MC

For me. This story 4, 4

short novels..
ML who falls in love first, very fast but in an epic way..
They got together very late, almost near the final Chapter. But I don't feel the romance is late, because somehow their interaction is very sweet.

A unique reborn story. MC is growing well.

Very cute. MC is relaxed and relatable, doesn’t go OP but is just competent from life experience. ML is shameless and funny. A couple of issues: no female speaking characters & the obsession with young lovers here is icky.

I really liked the MC in this story, he wasn't a perfect character, he had regrets and made sure to correct them after he was reborn. The ML was also an understanding character who cared a lot about MC.

I was pleasantly surprised when the author showed ml's thoughts about MC multiple times how he doesn't want to start anything with MC too soon since he was still young (18) and only when he found out MC was reborn and basically the same age as him mentally did he start his pursuit

Overall a very nice read with not much drama or face-slapping and focuses mostly on romance. It was just a shame ml's family and background wasn't explained much, so the characterization was a bit lacking.

  • Really good novel basically the MC goes 15 years back in time and then does things that he did not manage to do in his first life for example = instead of working for his so called family after droppin out and self degradin himself he works for himself + studies + gets a job he wants
  • the MC and his rival both are reborn tbhh I dont really understand why his rival was reborn also but what I can see is that he was added so the author can force humour into the novel + to expose to the ML that the MC is reborn
  • the MC and ML are very cute together both have a very mature understanding and the ML is a good companion too = very good dynamic + fluff
  • anyways I really enjoyed the novel I wish it was longer ngl a good read!

2.5 due to personal preference. Actually the MC and ML are very unique and dynamic characters. The ML in particular is the most unique one I've read, especially in an entertainment novel. You should read it for yourself to see if you like it.

The ML is not my type. I dislike his one flaw which is shamelessness when it comes to chasing the MC. But his chasing is also indirect so he's never fully honest about his feelings. In fact my biggest gripe is that he lies to the MC... more>> in the beginning about why he needs to have the MC by his side. This is especially annoying when the MC feels emotional attachment to the ML to a degree bc the ML treated him nicely without wanting anything.... uh no

the ML very clearly wants your beautiful ass from the beginning. I don't like that he tried to trap the MC in the job even if the MC saw through it and allowed the ML to bc of his emotional attachment to the ML at this point I realize why should I complain if the MC isn't? BC THIS IS NOT MY TYPE. I don't like it. And stand by it. I just don't like how shameless and manipulative the ML is and how it's written like we're supposed to be like oh cute. Nah. It just gives controlling and I dislike it. But again he really isn't that bad and he has this one flaw only. The ML is actually such an amazing, smart, and nice character and person besides this gripe I have with his "pursual" of the MC bc it's more of a net and that's just icky to me as a straightforward free person. It's giving "you have to make me not single or nothing else you have no choice" type of writing

The plot is a mess and mainly relies on a gigantic number of coincidences and impossible leaps of logic to progress. Read only if you enjoy brainless plot holes and shameless square in circle hole type of authorial retcon.

Putting the messy plot aside, the author does write very readable dialogue and narrative. They also have a natural grasp of humor that lends itself well to romantic comedy. If they had only spent a bit more time planning their story this could easily be a 4 or 5 star story.
