Mu Wan Qing was dressed as cannon fodder playing a female supporting role in a book about a reborn female protagonist.

The heroine was her amazing and talented cousin. She was reborn on the way to exile, and she devoted all her clan to help her ascend to the backyard of the Emperor.

And Mu Wan Qing’s whole family was used as a stepping stone and was destroyed on the road of exile.

Mu Wan Qing: I am so tired, let’s destroy it.

In the chaos of the house raiding scene, Mu Wan Qing hurriedly grabbed the marriage certificate with a swoosh.

During the breaking up of the marriage, Mu Wan Qing exchanged the marriage certificate for a mule cart and twenty taels of silver and started a long journey of exile.

In order to survive, she resorted to roasting pig trotters, making fried chicken, farming cotton, and breeding sheep.

Engaged in building water power, building cities, building cement roads, and creating a prosperous fortress in the south.

Accidentally played a big game, and the plot was really shifted…

The Reborn Cousin: Everyone is concentrating on building infrastructure, how can I play the script of the palace fight?!

At the palace banquet, the arrogant and arrogant frontier master sat alone while pouring the drink. There was a commotion at the door, and the beautiful and heroic first female assistant, Mu Wan Qing walked in surrounded by everyone.

The man put down the wine glass and quickly ran over, with his eyes full of love, he said, “Madam, I can’t eat without you.”

There was an uproar at the scene.

This novel is definitely going to be one of my all time favourites. I have read many transmigrated into the ancient times novels with amazing female leads but Mu wanqing hits different. There are many novels with op female leads who shock the world with their amazing abilities and beacome the object of envy. But most of these fls are limited to only become the empress or a wife of a powerful general or smt. They become women who are admired by everyone especially the other noble girls. Oh don't... more>> let me get started with those brain dead noble villain girls the authors create. In the end all those female leads who are admired don't make much difference to the society or at least try to make a change. Especially the situation of women. While the fls are admired the situation or the standing of women doesn't change. This is one of the main reasons why I love this novel. Yes, Mu wanqing is too op at times but she actually manages to make a change in the world. Especially in the empowerment of women, which is really satisfying to look at in a patriarchal society.

I have so much to say but that will spoil the story so I'll stop here. But I heavily recommend this book for those who love a strong, sassy and independent female lead and read about how she reaches the pinnacle of life step by step. <<less

My feelings for this work are very complicated.

Mu Wanqing is probably my all-time favorite heroine. She is smart and sassy and does not let herself suffer even an inch. She is probably the only heroine I have ever felt worth respecting. She is knowledgeable and so decisive. If she was an actual person, I would definitely have a girlcrush. I respect her a lot.

But she is truly the only thing worth reading this story for. I admire her, but the entire cast of characters are overshadowed by her. And this... more>> is naturally not the fault of the heroine, it is entirely the fault of the author. She made a heroine who shines brightly, but made everyone else mediocre. There was no need for that. This author's heroine is amazing. If other characters were allowed to be amazing too, they still wouldn't be able to beat Mu Wanqing. The heroine is amazing, but the background is blurry. It wasn't necessary so it was disappointing. If you don't like the MC you will not like this work. Fortunately for me I love the MC a lot.

Moving past the heroine (have I already told you how much I love her?) the rest of the story is very... strange. One of the problems that comes with a super capable MC is that they tend to solve their problems quickly. And that's okay... if the author controls the pacing. This author didn't do that.

There were many loose threads in this story. Many characters were not revisited and we have no idea what their fates were. At first the author put a lot of emphasis on side characters but eventually they definitely did get sidetracked. It's not that their ability to write side characters is bad, it's that this author kept getting distracted. It felt like even the author made way for the mc's plans and didn't take everyone else to heart. I wish we got a follow up for more characters. Many had the potential to be interesting but they were never seen again. It's a damn shame. You can tell the author was going somewhere with several characters but the plans for these characters were never followed up on.

In addition, this story does not belong to the romance genre. It's definitely a subplot if at all. At the beginning there were slight hints here and there that it would be romance but later on it fell through the wayside. The author had to go out of their way to make the ML have a presence in this story. You can tell the author isn't really proficient in writing romance but it does make sense for the MC to not be so obsessed with it but still I wish we got more romance. MC is a career-focused woman, people. (slight spoiler) the biggest reason she decided to get married was because she thought it was a good way to make the emperor less suspicious of her. Love is not a requirement for her, it's just a sweet little bonus that she can easily do without. So yeah, if you're looking for a romance novel, look elsewhere. MC just doesn't see it as a priority.

I get the sense that the author kind of lost their way. The actual ending, not including the extras, felt super out of nowhere. The antagonists were all quickly dealt with. The only antagonist that was worth anything was very present early in the story but kind of just faded midway through the story and their ending was definitely not as satisfactory as it should have been. Should have been the climax of the story and was definitely being propped up to be so but ended up having no impact at all. It was a ridiculous ending for what I thought was gonna be the biggest baddy. Every other antagonist was inferior so the story just felt off.

After the unsatisfactory ending of the antagonist who I thought was going to be an actual opponent but ended up sucking is definitely when the story started to kind of wander. Maybe the author knew this so they tried to shut it down but they got distracted too lol. What happens when the MC even overwhelms the author? This story is the answer.

It was not a bad reading experience at all though. This is actually one of my favorite webnovels of all time. 90% of the credit though goes to the MC. She made this story worth reading for. I usually take breaks from stories and end up forgetting them. This story is probably one of the very few I never took a break from. I was extremely hooked. It was a straight week of me reading just this story and nothing else. It was engaging and interesting and honestly and sincerely a great use of my time. I felt like I learned a lot from the heroine. She is a breath of fresh air. That's why I'm giving it 4/5 stars. Even though there were a lot of things I am dissatisfied with in regards to this story, I am very grateful to have been able to read about this MC. Her philosophy and outlook on life is worth respecting and learning from. Much respect for her and for the author for creating her.

Oh also, one last thing - this story is hilarious. You don't expect it but you'll definitely laugh while reading this, guaranteed.

A very worthwhile experience. <<less

The premise seems interesting. I've been wanting to read a base building novel with a female protagonist for a long time, I hope it actually sticks to that premise and doesn't randomly become harem fighting later on!

PS: the chapters are being split by the translation team.

The novel starts out with a scene of the house raiding by the government. MC transmigrates into the daughter of a concubine born son. MC is OP as the commander lets her take clothes, medicine and her family's marriage contracts. It's one of those scenes that captivates you because of how outlandish it is.

The ML is the cousin of the sickly crown prince. He saves her from getting killed during a robbery attempt.

The novel starts with the exile, and ends with the MC becoming the first female assistant.
Spoiler

In the extra, it ends with her story becoming part of history and their tomb unearthed.

[collapse]

The story focused more on the MC's experiences and journey to become an official. Like all OP MCs, she has the ability to trick her enemies into giving her money, without the consequences. She has all the blueprints for gunpowder, cement, glass, waterwheel, crossbow, agricultural knowledge and tons of recipes. MC feels like a maxed out character in a game.

If you enjoy reading about OP MCs, you may enjoy reading this.

The romance is lacking because I feel that the reason MC marries ML is because he respects her decisions (in working, etc). It doesn't feel like MC is in love with him but more like companionship.
Spoiler

which is why they meet up only 2 months a year.

I enjoyed this at the beginning, but the Mary Sue-ness of it all got too strong. MC has an encyclopedia like knowledge plus all revelant hands on expertise. It's like the original character design collapsed under the demands of the plot. It's entertaining, but also ridiculous.

Spoiler

The premise is interesting, but it is way too much in historical fantasy element for me to fully enjoy 300 chapters of OP female whose actions never have any consequences, a fairly absent ML and reborn but dumb villains. The FL can cook, knows how to make concrete, can make soap, crossbows, dynamites, sweaters, goes on a tendon cutting spree, stabs a royal prince and no one blinks and eye.
