Before Ling Luo succumbed to her inner demons, her unparalleled talent in swordsmanship dominated the cultivation world.

That was until someone else emerged—a single strike of their sword shocked the heavens, stealing her title as the strongest swordsman.

After Ling Luo fell to her demons, the people she sought to kill were always protected by Yue Liangze, the number-one swordsman of the era.

When she finally destroyed the Heavenly Dao, resolving her regrets and choosing to fade away, she unexpectedly woke up as this lifelong rival’s junior martial sister!

At just sixteen, Yue Liangze was still a lowly errand disciple in the outer sect of the Tianyun Sect. He was constantly bullied by the inner sect disciples, dressed in coarse clothes, and ordered around for menial tasks.

Whenever inner disciples were frustrated during their training or scolded by their masters, they would take out their anger on him with fists and kicks.

Ling Luo, who had been secretly observing Yue Liangze for several days, couldn’t bear it any longer after witnessing the frail, quiet boy curl up in a corner, shielding his head while enduring the relentless beatings.

How could the future strongest swordsman in the immortal realm be so weak!

Without hesitation, Ling Luo drew her sword, cutting through the crowd. Under the shocked gazes of everyone, she pointed her sword at the boy on the ground and declared crisply, “Draw your sword.”

It was truly breathtaking. I haven't enjoyed a story this much in a long time. Author planned everything beautifully. Nothing in the story development is unnecessary or story filler. Each event is a clue that leads us to the main story.

I even liked that not everyone had a happy ending. Even if they were essentially good people or helpless, it felt very touching that they had to suffer the consequences of their actions and even end up in death. Because that's how it should actually be. Just because you too have suffered and experienced bad things does not justify harming innocent people for your revenge.

I love both of the leads very much. The side characters are also very well written, most of them have their own personalities and stories. As you read the story you can feel that they are truly individuals, they are not just decorations that are there to make the lead shine brighter.

Also, there are no boring details in the story, the flow from beginning to end felt very smooth and natural. The moment I finished the book, I felt real satisfaction, there was no question or unresolved incident left in my mind.

I know I said I have no regrets, but if I had to say something, I would never say no to a side story talking about their children. I wonder what kind of parents they will both be like. I'm sure they will be great parents to their children, especially since they both have parent-related traumas. I wish I had the chance to see this.

For those who are hesitant to read this book, if you like reading cultivation books and want to read something realistic, I recommend you read this book. <<less
