“Get out.”

It was spring break’s last day, and he was only a freshman. Still young, his stepmother had announced his eviction. Akito Iwaki was kicked out without a word of caution, and began scraping a living by himself.

However, scraping by was hard. He had to earn money for his tuition, his living expenses, and even rent. The bills led him to work at construction sites up until the dead of night.

His unhealthy, albeit necessary lifestyle encumbered him with severe sleep deprivation, which resulted in two sunken dark holes beneath his eyes. These blemishes caused Yuto Matsuyama, the school chairman’s son, to label him with the nickname “Disgusting Panda.” Not long after, he was prey to bullying.

Worn and sick of these cruel days, he contemplated dropping out. However, as he lay at the bottom of the barrel, his former stepsister and school Madonna, Saki Mizumoto, came to visit his shoddy apartment. She then pressed Akito to date her in exchange of his father’s bank book.

Despite the advances, he said he couldn’t possibly see Saki as a member of the opposite s*x, given all the time they’d spent together. Brushing his worries aside, she would pursue and make him aware of her charms no matter what. In the end, he was forced to agree to a relationship.

This is a story about a faltering boy, powerless before a girl’s advances. His health would improve day by day, and one eventually, he’ll serve them all right.

This would be borderline acceptable it the story was set in a fantasy world, or an alternate universe where humans were replaced by insane primates. But this is set in modern Japan. No one acts anywhere close to how humans actually behave. S*upid beyond belief. It feels like the author is insulting the readers with how lazy and contrived the characters are. No descriptive language, no subtlety, no character motivations, and no semblance of effort. It's lazy tr*sh.

This novel feels like it was written by a kid. Its hard to explain without going into spoilers but the "bad people" act like they have 1 brain cell, the world building is shallow at best, with just an overall feel that makes me believe this was written by someone who is young and thinks these things would be cool.

So to get into more detail to begin with the main character is supposedly forced out of his home which while I'm not familiar with japanese law is probably illegal. Then he is supposedly working so many jobs that he isn't able to sleep at night and goes to school tired. While at the same time he is suppose to be such a genius that he can learn a years worth of material in an hour. So to begin this doesn't work because he is supposedly doing average or below when a literal afternoon would be enough for him to get a perfect on his exams. Then he is getting bullied in school by one main guy and then the side cast (Who literally have 1 brain cell) and the teachers basically endorse the behavior or ignore it. To skip some things basically he is in a bet with his bully where if he and his sister/gf/whatever get first two spots the bully has to prostate themselves... skipping over more details of course he wins and the bully ends up trying to get out of prostrating himself. The way they get the bully to do it is threatening him with evidence of him bullying MC... Just skipping over so many bad things about it, if you had this information why wouldn't you of taken it to the authorities. It just feels very unrealistic how if you have all of this evidence you "forgive them" instead of just taking it to the authorities. I'm skipping a lot of things since I don't really want to put in the effort to list out all of the things that I don't think were good with this book, but overall it just feels like the author is very young. It feels like a kid who is writing what they think would be cool. Overall the writing feels shallow (For example the classmates who are just nameless brainless props for rooting for whoever the author feels like) and a ton of inconsistencies that don't work with a modern day plot line (Since if your supposedly smart enough to learn this much material this fast then you should be smart enough to go to the f*cking police.)

Dunno what's up with the low scores people are giving this one. Quite a good story so far with enjoyable interactions between the MC and the FL.

The initial premise is a bit wonky, I'm sure someone would take notice of a child who's living alone and working two night jobs on top of going to school. That aside it's a solid story and definitely something worth investing your time in.

So far theres only really 3 characters to the story, MC, FL and the bully, with the rest of the cast... more>> being background noise most of whom dont even get names but the author is making it work.

If you like stories with downtrodden underdogs with zero self esteem and aggressively affectionate female leads determined to prove their love then this is another one for you. <<less
