Not actually sure what the whole point of this story was. I thought it was a comedy and there is def some comedy but it’s a bit heavy because the MC has survivor syndrome and probably depression, although it doesn’t come across as forcing it in your face. It’s presented in a rational manner about what and why she’s feeling and it just makes sense.

but I guess I feel cheated because this is not what I came for.

Basically it sounds like a light hearted novel but it’s not. Just be... more>> aware of that going in.

the ending was alright but there are still questions/plots left unresolved. Like

Spoiler

the father actually “found” her 2 years ago but didn’t bring her back then. No follow up to this.

the adopted mother who used her as bait when she was a kid — I guess we can assume the sister sorted that out but nothing was explicitly said about that.

The horror game she invested in?

all in all I’m actually quite disappointed, feels like it didn’t meet my expectations although I’m not sure what I expected when I started reading this <<less

This is not a comedy. It's a tragedy. So far there has been no comedy at all. Honestly if you want a novel with a slow psychological healing process mixed with tragedy this would be a good novel. This in no way, shape or form from the chapters I've read so far be called a comedy.

Warning Spoilers

After she escapes from the infinte flow she gets whisked away to her original family. The family can hear her inner thoughts at home. You find out throughout the book so far that she's the only member of her team to survive. It's implied that she killed her teammate at the end of the infinte flow. She has survivors guilt and her current actions are to do the last wishes of her teammates when they leave the infinte flow. You get told how one of her teammates gets burned in lava before her eyes, and that she ground her last teammate into the floor at the end. She has severe memory issues (trauma) and barely remembers people even if they're annoying or causing trouble.

She know she has issues. Her adopted sister also got her anyalised buy a pychologist without her approval. She also seems intent on "fixing" her and pushes her boundaries in her attempts to do so.

Rating 4 stars but I think 3.5 is an apt rating.

I don’t read reviews before reading anything and I agree with kaio98 - if you’ve ever gone through something horrible and had to mask your way through life, you would immediately clock that MC’s mental health is severely unwell.

In a way, I like that they did that because it adds a sense of realism to the story (albeit it’s really such a fantasy genre) given that anyone who will go through that would 100% be messed up in the head.

However,... more>> I don’t think the way they went about “trying” to cure her in such a short amount of time was... logical. The ending seem rushed. There were a lot of loopholes too. Overall, this one has high points but would have benefitted with a lot more time polishing.

Would not recommend for a light read, would recommend for a good read. <<less

i have mixed feelings about this one.

it was sad and grim, she is clearly expressing a lot of trauma responses to what happened in the infinite flow. I think the way she came out of the trauma was a bit unrealistic.

i think her character is pretty solid. I dont know if I will make it through the extras because of how depressing life seemed in the infinite flow.

TLDR: not a light hearted novel at all. A girl recovering from mental illness who suddenly got rich and realised her whole life... more>> was mapped out in a story. <<less

This story might not be for everybody but it speaks to me. I love it. The story is very wish fulfillment with a touch of emotional realism.

This is not tagged as romance and I guess the ending is up for interpretation of where Tan Li and Ah Heng's relationship is headed but I love their relationship. There's no easy cure for being broken but there is hope.

I am docking a point however because eventhough I love the story, there's a lot of unanswered questions or plots that went nowhere.
