Daikichi Yoshikawa, a sophomore in high school, witnesses his childhood sweetheart, Akari Beniya, cheating on him. When he asks her about it, she simply admits it and leaves him.

Akari tells him that he is not masculine enough, so Daikichi begins a two-week survival program on his grandfather’s deserted island to learn how to be a man.

A few days before his time on the deserted island is about to end, he discovers a beautiful girl named Yukiho washed up on the beach. She is a national idol, but Daikichi, who doesn’t watch TV, thinks she is just a beautiful girl and helps her.

This triggers a confession from Yukiho to Daikichi. Soon the two start dating.

The relationship between Yukiho and Daikichi becomes known throughout Japan through national TV.

Naturally, it catches the attention of Akari.

Then, after all this time, she pressures Daikichi to get back together.

Ok, the rating at the point that I’m writing this review is a bit bad because there is not wnough people reading it. The novel is pretty fun and endearing to read, also the bit*h dumping scene was so satisfying too. Maybe the story and romance is a bit fast, but it is fun to read, and I respect that. Also the translation quality is pretty good!

Title is clickbait for sure. Story is completely different and bland. Genre tags are/were misleading. Zero comedy. Absolutely not a romcom. No romcom troupes. No rivalries. Childhood friend is a tossed away background character. Revenge is an afterthought.

No school life. No friends. No classmates. Not even highschool setting. Just does some time skips. No dating life. Not even idol related anymore.

It's all show business. It's about some reality TV show. MC immediately quits whatever normal life and transfers to a new school for actors, but with zero school life, just... more>> focuses entirely on filming and show business. <<less

As good as the story is, the title feels like 100% bait just so the author can have readers for a story they've been wanting to write about.

Like, I'm pretty sure not as many people would have cl**ked on this if it was called "Making a TV show about surviving in an island with the top idol!" or something similar.

Story gets to the point and I'm thankful for that.
It's apparent from the get go that the author wants to get to them having adventures together in a realistic setting and honestly I'm kind of here for that kind of thing.
The story doesn't meander, and at times reads more as a summary in between segments where they are doing survivalist stuff.
But the story doesn't skimp out on plot relevant details.
It's not exactly the next great thing. But it is enjoyable as a story.

If I read a novel, I rarely review because it's not good. But I will waste my time and English for this.

The plot is very clear (see on the title), at first I thought, this was some cliche revenge plot but it isn't. It's all about MC and his new girlfriend (the heroine) survival show on an inhabitant island.

I also enjoy when the MC gives knowledge when they stroll in the island.

The MC break up with his Girlfriend is shown in Chapter 1 and the heroine also appeared after the next chapter (or probably in the same chapter).

I like this novel Because of early romance. The MC interaction with the heroine is so fluffy that I envied it.

A simple love/revenge story. Guy gets dumped by childhood friend, goes into recluse in a remote island owned by grand father and saves idol. Idol falls in love with him and drags him into the entertainment industry. Childhood friend gets jealous and wants him back.

Meh. The story feels like a self insert by the writer and is jilted by a childhood friend. For any aspiring readers, I would give it a read if you’re bored and looking for a simple romance story. Be warned though, the writer isn’t really good... more>> at writing the lovey dovey parts so the love interest comes off as very undeveloped even after the first arc. Readers beware. <<less

Went onto raws after I couldn't see the TL. The main problem is the pacing was almost at the speed of light. Not enough interactions between MC and main girl, too many timeskips, some characters were formally introduced but had little development, and the antagonists plotting revenge were only written in a hurry. We didn't even know what happened to all of them. For this story that emphasizes on survival, showbiz and romance having to zoom in weeks or months almost every chapter just doesn't fit in my opinion.

I felt somewhat conflicted because of the reviews, as I like romance/early romance/comedy, but I decided to still give it a shot.

Conclusion

Arc 1

Some people said it was all about show-biz but arc 1 was mainly survival. It's also hard to guess if the author knows about how Japanese show-biz works or if he relies on fiction, because some stuff sounded too exeggarated. All in all, arc 1 ready nicely.

Arc 2

But then the author decided to make an arc 2 and introduced Yui.

Idol that f*cks with a lot of famous men just because of self-satisfaction. I mean, it does make kind of sense given that an idol that has a boyfriend gets shit-stormed quite severely but still... And then the ending of arc 2 is pretty much two crazy people trying to physically harm the main couple, fail and only Yui gets a bad ending in the psychiatry while Akari literally gets nothing, it felt so weird to end it there.

The author should have just ended this story with arc 1, so I recommend reading arc 1 and kind of pretending arc 2 does not exist. <<less

Very simple story, I had no expectations and was entertained. The subject of this story is in the title. Slice-of-life. The setting is "survival island" and later reality-television, and reality. The story covers one main protagonist, love interest, and two supporting characters; simple story about a nice guy, a not nice girl, a not nice actress, and... ***not-spoiler***. Will the protagonist keep a relationship going? Who is at fault for relationship failures? Protagonist behaviors were reasonable. No harem. Some cheating (not too graphic), but nothing that should trigger anyone sensitive.... more>> I'm not generally a slice of life guy, and prefer 2000 chapte wuxia and/or LitRPG stories, but this was a worthy quick tale. Initially, the story was nice. Things were developing steadily and had it end in ch3 or so (when conflict was solve) then would have rate it as 5 but as it goes on the issues on the story become too big to ignore.

The premise was unique, it's similar to those typcial abandoned FL and then getting revenge, only this time it's an ML and they acknowledge that they might have contributed something to the break up and tried his best to fix it. Unfortunately, for me it was ruined by... more>> prolonging the story.

I think if you like the typical slow pace, slice of life story that talks beyond the plot then you would like this otherwise, just read it up to when FL confessed to MC. <<less

The story is mostly fluff and no substance, it's a feel good/revenge story where the mc's life keeps getting better and better and the ones who wrong him do worse and worse, and that's about it, nothing more, nothing less, it's kinda hard to talk about it in detail since it is such a simple story, it could happen in any setting you can think off, it just so happened that this one had showbiz in the story, but it could have worked on a ordinary slice of life, on... more>> a isekai, screw it, even a military setting where the characters worked for the army would have worked, wherever you think off, just change the part about the showbiz, and replace it with whatever you thought off.
So with that said, it is fundamentally a wish fulfillment story so if you are into it you should try it <<less

The story is just so so. The title and summary are already a spoiler itself because it's pretty much what happened in this story.

Although the story was tagged as romance but in reality, there's nor much romance involved in this story. ML and FL's relationship was so stiff and make me think that the reason why ML was dumped was because he didn't know how to date a girl properly. And please, there's no comedy at all in this story. It was rather plain and boring.

So I haven't read the novelist's other series, just looked at the summary but this series pretty much seems like a terrible abridged version of that. Everything is just thrown together rather haphazardly with the "survival" being the least though still pretty mediocre. In short, it's something to read (definitely better than steaming pile of isekais that keep coming out), you won't feel particularly heartstrung or on-edge but... meh

Ok when you read it doesn't seem like reading a MOE rather I fell like im reading a script for a low budget Netflix show. If your in to fluff and romance this ain't it. Its boring. Oh in the tag theres comedy but there isn't.

As some of the reviews has already stated; This doesn't have much in the romance aspect. Although, I myself am having a hard time understanding what people have against the title, its exactly that. The protagonist finds his girlfriend cheating on him so they break up and he then dates an Idol.

The story itself is good, however, if you're looking for a sweet fluffy school life romantic comedy, then this is not for you. Though it has the romance and comedy tag, the story itself doesn't really focus on that.... more>> And as for the characters, well, they're average I suppose. Since there aren't that many to begin with.
