If you’re in the mood for a light and sweet dog food novel with cute moments, but don’t mind dubious logic in the development of relationships, a Mary Sue-style main character (MC) who’s super innocent and more beautiful than an immortal, and an overpowered CEO who falls in love with them, then I’d recommend this book to you. Story Setup:
The story setup isn’t very strong. We learn about the backgrounds of the male lead (ML) and MC, but not in much depth, without flashbacks or multiple points of view. There are characters who seem to be villains or second male lead, but their roles are not explored further. The plot revolves primarily around the sweet, everyday life of the ML and MC, with minor lovers’ quarrels but no prolonged angst or drama. Disclaimer:
You may not enjoy this story if the dense and innocent type of MC isn’t to your taste, or if you find constant descriptions of the MC’s ethereal beauty in every chapter off-putting. If you prefer a slow romance with logical relationship building between the MC and ML, this may not be for you. Their relationship develops quickly without a clear reason for the ML’s attraction to the MC. Rating and Final Thoughts:
If you’re okay with all of the above, this novel is a good read. I give it a 4/5, subtracting one star due to one-dimensional characters and the illogical progression of the relationship, as well as the lack of follow-through on seemingly important characters who later disappear from the story.
- The MC is compared to a bunny and a kitten. A bunny once so far and a kitten maybe 2 or 3 times. I feel that yes it does make the MC more harmless and kitten could be cat instead, but generally I have always seen light novels use kitten even when they mean cat. Comparing the MC with those small animals is more about his behaviour / vibe if you will and doesn't explain anything about his appearance really. With this I mean his physical appearance.
- The cleaning aunt thinking he was underage: okay so this is slightly weird because as another comment pointed out, he is married (not yet, but about to be and some people think they already are). But this is also a universe where no one bats an eye at same s*x marriages and selling your son to a rich man when you're tired of them... so I'm really not surprised? I think it doesn't make him underage, many light novels just prefer a bottom that is physically smaller (shorter and thinner) in appearance. And let's be honest, many people who are adults in their twenties still get mistaken for underage children so it's not really very striking.
- The ML liking the coquettish (did I spell that right?) -ness of the MC is the strongest point that could mean he prefers an underage over adult partner. But that is the gist of the entire story... that he is acting like a baby. They also explain that he knows how to do that due to his history. He has never intended to seem younger, he is young. So many of his actions are still a bit childish, but the ML has to fall in love with him so all his actions will be attractive to the ml. Him being eloquent with reading poems and his clingy-ness.
- I think a possible other point that could lead to the MC acting underage and that being attractive to the ML is the contrast. Contrast with the mature and knowledgable real bottom of the origional book. Contrast with the mature and stable ml. Contrast with the origional body who has 'mature makeup'. He is cute and young in comparison to everything, but that doesn't equate being a minor. He is just younger, not young.
I feel like the whole reason the ML falls in love with him is because he was expecting so much worse and got something better. The regular trope of, 'oh the person whose body I'm possessing was such a bad person, they did this and that and they had dyed hair and they wore heavy makeup. I... more>>the MC is too innocent, clingy and easily manipulated by ml. I think what I like the most is when the ML didn't realize he fall in love with at first sight and gradually spoiling him. I always prefer ML the one who fall first and all in all it is good but it get kinda boring as you've read, just full of sweetness ahead.
