I got hit by a truck and was suddenly summoned to a middle school-type novel that I used to write when I was a teenager.

I got dropped into that world after receiving a favor from a goddess I wrote…

But the future is bleak.

The story is literally what's written on the tin. The protagonist is reincarnated into the story he (now she) written back when he's in middle school. Obviously, the first few chapters inflicts secondhand embarrassment— especially if you've had that past experience as well!

But, things diverge a bit from that setting. One, MC never finished writing the story. Her draft only reached towards three volumes worth and only one big bad out of the numerous ones. However, despite unfinished there's tones of notes and settings the MC had jolted down. And... more>> from there the world corrects the information rationally to why those settings exists. This also includes the unfinished character information.

And so the task the Goddess gave the MC isn't straightforward either. It's blatantly hinted there's more going behind-the-scenes why Clara is reincarnated into the world of her novel.

Aside from these details I found fascinating and kept me hooked, the MC herself is straightforwardly a good person. Not righteous and a pure goody-two-shoes but someone with upright morals from the average person's point of view. Genderbend isn't much of a psychological aspect here. Instead, it's there to create some misunderstandings and explain the denseness of MC to her current appearance. Still, I find it entertaining that insufferable.

As for the other characters, they aren't fleshed out fully but they aren't so two-dimensional either. I'll say they're in the middle to above average. The few POV change helps that as well. I think the future chapters might go explore more of the characters and also expand further into their relationships.

Speaking of relationships, there's nothing substantial about the shoujo Ai-Yuri subplot parts. There are hints but that's much it!

For those want to give this novel a try but wary because of the lack of reviews and the rating, please give it a try and judge until the confrontation with the first arc's big bad boss. <<less

The author should've skipped the gender bent or near-shoujo ai stuff. It's deeply embedded into the story, but it's poorly done to the point it detracts from an otherwise decent story. (For what it's worth, I'm usually a fan of the gender bent/TS theme, whether it resolve het-normative or yuri or anywhere in between... although in between is exceedingly rare :/)

I like that there are consequences and limits when the MC causes a miracle (their most OP ability). I like that the goddess lies to the MC about who... more>> the MC is. I like that the protagonist remains more powerful that the MC... and very different. I like that every character doesn't fall in love with the MC.

But this is all overwhelmed by the story's poor handling of, and obsession with, gender and sexuality. <<less

Although it had some promise, the concept of being a cringe novel is ab*sed to just add whatever the author wants into the story.

I've genuinely read more engaging AI novels and that saddens me greatly.

The author needs to calm down on the descriptive writing as it drags on and sometimes just doesn't make sense. They genuinely wrote that a teenage girl made a crater in the ground by jumping at a knocked down enemy.
