It's simply breathtaking. It defines the line between ordinary and extraordinary that cannot be bridged even with an entire life's worth of experience.

At the same time, this novel has romance elements which makes for quite a unique experience. Seriously, without the romance, I don't even want to imagine how the story would have ended.

This novel is quite relatable, at least for me. Even I sometimes wished to be special and extraordinary. But after reading this novel, looks like I will have to introspect on myself a bit and I don't... more>> feel bad it is a bad thing.

If there is one thing, it would be that this novel was quite short.

Overall, I would gladly give 100/100. <<less

Reincarnation is a gift limited by your own abilities. Sure, in a lot of novels that’s made up for by god-given blessings and an unnatural memory of events, but strip that away and what’s left? A normal man with normal abilities. The protagonist is exactly that, a man with normal abilities trying to become greater than what he’s capable of. For himself, for the heroine, for what their bonds had formed. Yet, he’s only normal. A fight across his second life to find that greatness, that is this story. I... more>> hope you can all learn something from it. <<less

This is by far the best short story I've ever read.

Even though it takes on such a fictional premise, the story manages to bring the realism of how a reincarnated character is. I would say that this is by far the most realistic behavior of a reincarnated person and how the character feel is just very relatable to me personally. The world is full of injustice. The prodigy and the ordinary. Many people say that geniuses with innate ability can be surpassed by hard work and determination. But I think... more>> that this is simply not true, maybe some of us have tried very very hard, but reality stepped on us. Of course, this isn't a reason to give up on becoming the best even though we're ordinary. Many ordinary people also succeed and be the best in their life.

In the end, we don't need to be special or remarkable people for everyone. We only need to be special to those who are dear to us. <<less

One of the best stories I have ever come across.

Quite a realistic view on time regression tropes. It would have been cool if the same concept was applied to adventure/action genre.

Also, it would have been nice to get Anja's perspective. Moreover, putting the story in volumes and slowly exploring the way MC progressed through his life and other events in his childhood would have been interesting.

I am not complaining though. Overall, this was a great story. I am gonna read it whenever I am in the mood for melancholy and... more>> a taste of sweet story. <<less

Simple but meaningful story. It's meant to be a short novel, so some things the MC experienced in his reincarnation could only be explored at a surface level. As a result, I felt that I wanted to understand the MC and girl better to appreciate the story more.

However, the overall theme is beautiful, especially recalling the beginning phrase 'A prodigy at ten, a genius at fifteen, a common man past twenty.' after the ending. It literally describes how society would view the MC, but instead, he's learned that the truly... more>> special things may exist in his common life. Reality is harsh, but often the best thing to do is to accept it, but in a positive way.

I actually would give the novel like 4.5/5, but due to the rating system, I thought since the novel isn't perfect, I rounded it down to 4/5 to suggest this. <<less

really hit me in my heart, saying one sentence throughout the whole story,

"you may be ordinary, you may never have the chance to become extraordinary, but thats ok, find something you're good at and live your life to the best your ordinary life can be."

10/10 will read again

Woww was a great read ♥ When I started reading I thought it was going to be the typical story of the reincarnator who became a genius and reached the top of society but wow I did not expect hehehe I really enjoyed it this story is very well told and this It made me fill with several emotions, sadness, happiness, remembering the past added to the romanticism that was given, I think it was perfect. A highly recommended novel.

It was a light heartwarming story of an ordinary guy like most of us and I can, for the most part, relate to it.

It's really good, near the end I almost cried. And even if I read hundreds of manga and watched hundreds of anime it almost never happened...

Despite the length, this was really able to bring out a lot of feelings! Especially if you have a soft spot for childhood friends and rivalry. I definitely recommend this as a nice breather in between longer novels.

This is a heartwarming, sweet one-shot story between a reincarnated boy and a studious genius girl.
On a personal note, it did make me feel more empty rather than warm and fulfilled, hence 4 stars. I just had a foreboding feeling throughout the entire story whenever a certain imagery was described.

Spoiler

The main character has an inferiority complex, is kind to his fellow associates, but always just humble, never divulged into any kind of relationships with anybody including his family. Clearly had his walls up around everybody. Also because it's written in the perspective of the pessimistic MC, it was hard to comprehend how it ended with fluffy romance.
The female lead ends up being the one that breaks his shells and tears down the walls around him, sadly, as an one-shot, one does not get much from that as it mostly revolves around his insecurities, which translated well to the readers, by the way.
The acceptance of the both of each other at the end and the time skip was exceptionally sweet.

A heart warming one shot. What reincarnation is most likely to be if it were really to happen. I think this puts any delusions I might have ever had to rest. My heart feels a little steadier.

Absolutely incredible. It pulls at my heartstrings with great force. I still feel great anxiety just thinking about this piece of work.

A must read, even more so considering how short it is.

To me it isnt really heartwarming though, the history just makes me despair at my own shortcomings and wrong decisions. If I could start over, would I fare any better? I can't know for sure, but that question has been plaguing my mind ever since I've read this wonderful oneshot

...I just can't express how fulfilled myself after reading this. This oneshot novel has fulfilled what i've been longing to read since i've known literature.

The story is a masterpiece that I can relate and feel like a memory that being told to me. I feel like I reading someone's diary, about his past, his dream, his efforts, and his life.

I've been fed up with all of those fantasy harem isekai dense and KY MC stories, and I hope more stories like this appear in NU.

100/100% recommended to read!

"A prodigy at ten, a genius at fifteen, a common man past twenty." This phase hit me like a train! It describes all my life so accurately that I have to see what this story is all about.

To my surprise it's the most realistic reincarnating isekai story I ever read, it is story about mediocre reincarnator who was challenged by genius childhood girlfriend. Unfortunately this story has a modern setting and he isn't proficient in munchkins so,

;-;

IT'S AMAZING!!

*ahem*

If you're looking for a story for the feels,

this is your one stop shop.

The only regret I feel was that it wasn't any longer.
Another only regret I feel was that the Author didn't write any epilogue.

edit: ;-; ;-; ;-;

Spoiler

It could've been just as good in an ordinary world setup, instead of a magical setup.

He could've been an engineer without the magic and it would've been more relatable.

Nevertheless, 7/5 deserves more content.

Heck, make 5 volumes out of this.

When reading this book, I felt like I dived into the head of a young adult. In a way this novel feels like a self insert, but unlike many of the others I've read in the past, I feel like the author just put onto the pages exactly how they felt about their life and what they wanted from it, and their ideal life was just so simple and pure that I just had to let it wash over me. It actually reminded me a bit of my older outlook... more>> on life.

The romance in this book was, sadly, mediocre, and the writing itself nothing to write home about, but it got the job done. The characters too, feel very flat as I feel this book is more just about the author than them. If this was a longer book the flaws would start creeping out, but thankfully it's short enough that it leaves the impression of a charming book. Overall, a very wholesome 10 - 15 minutes from a very feel-good book, but nothing more. <<less
