18-year-old Huo Youqing unexpectedly woke up in the body of his 27-year-old self, having crossed nine years into the future. Everything around him has changed.

His best childhood friend grabbed him by the neck, punched him in the face, and cursed his ancestors.

His usually caring and attentive college roommate now looked at him with disgust.

From their conversations, Huo Youqing learned a name: “Dai Yuan.”

They all despise him because of Dai Yuan.

But Huo Youqing doesn’t know who Dai Yuan is.

Believing he has lost his memory, Huo Youqing calmly accepted the change in everyone’s attitude toward him. Then, after falling asleep, he wakes up once again—but this time back in his 18-year-old body.

The childhood friend who had been ready to kill him in defense of Dai Yuan now bent down gently, caressed his cheek, and softly coaxed him: “Why sleep here? It’s so cold. Youyou, I’ll take you home.”

The college roommate who had foretold his downfall was now kneeling at his feet, carefully applying a bandage, saying, “Youqing, you have a small wound on your foot.”

From then on, Huo Youqing started traveling between two different timelines.

I hate to say this, but don’t bother with this story. It tries — tries— to be a psychological suspense thriller, but it falls tremendously flat. The MC is not intelligent or exciting enough to pull it off... his s*upidity and just general lack of common sense is always explained away by ‘he was spoiled’ — sorry, but even spoiled people ask questions and think critically, being spoiled or growing up rich does not preclude you from having any sort of critical thinking skills or the ability to pause and... more>> reflect on why things don’t add up or make sense.

Every scene that’s supposed to be ‘ohh I bet you didn’t think THAT would happen’ was actually entirely predictable and the MC does that typical thing where they don’t ever talk to anyone about the things that don’t add up or conveniently don’t look into/research basic things that don’t add up — but is sure to isolate himself from anyone that could help him...

It sucks because the premise actually seemed good, but it’s so poorly executed it’s sort of a waste of an idea. <<less

This book is so strange. The constant back and forth of who is the aggressor is equally as strange as the time switch. I genuinely keep getting confused bc the MC will be extremely concerned over his future one second and then oblivious about it the next. Also everyone is a pe*vert, for some reason

The moment one of the characters was stated as having gotten a hard on when he was dissecting a rabbit, I knew this was NOT for me lmao

dai yuan- the real one- kills himself. It's just incredibly odd even without the whole brothers who look alike plotline. I get confused when they talk about dai yuan being alive in the current timeline and dead in the future timeline, because it feels like at the point huo youjing decided not to interact with him anymore there would have been no reason for him to commit su*cide and drag huo youjing into it which was for the purpose of tormenting his brother. And I also don't see why his aunt and uncle would have died at that point if the car accident wasn't an accident.

It just gets sort of tedious to read after that, and there are lots of inconsistencies with what happens or who is present, not only because of the double timeline thing. There's still things that need to be cleared up but it's just dragging on and feels unsatisfying to read, and I agree with others saying it seems weird that huo youjing does certain things without remembering the future he already saw. Although to be fair I also just forgot about a lot of the things while reading. The concept is interesting, and I can kind of understand where he's coming from because it feels incredibly hopeless so he's very pessimistic but he's still trying to change the future for the better despite that, in a grim and kind of twisted way. He said he hasn't gone insane but like, he definitely has, which is understandable given what he went through. I think it'd be more enjoyable if the other guys got more screentime but they're also crazy in a not fun and exciting to read way. <<less

What I frusted the most is MC. Why are you so s*upid to take a hint? You have goes to your future self and knowing your ambigous relationship and tragic with Dai Yixin. When you came back to your youngself you should stay away from him to avoid tragic repeatly. His aunt uncle died, does't its like repeatly what happen to his future?! He is so damn dumb that I want to stop reading it for countless time!!!!!

Wow.... just wow. I am quite honestly speechless right now. Honestly, the way the novel is written and the characters are portrayed deserve a straight up 5/5 - but part of me is left so unsettled by what I read I can't decided if it should be 4 or 5 stars. And yes, I agree with other reviewers that the story can get convoluted and confusing at times, but I genuinely felt like it was done on purpose by the author so that we feel as confused and as disoriented... more>> by the time jumps as the MC (maybe I'm giving the author too much credit but that's how I interpreted it).

To start with, don't go into this expecting a light-hearted style yandere story. This one is DARK - is it the darkest I've read? No, not really, but there's something about the way the characters change that really gets to you. And ugh my poor MC, he starts off so young and innocent, but the longer he becomes entangled with the ML, the more messed up and twisted he becomes too. I don't blame the MC at all for becoming the type of person he does if anything by the end

In a way, this story was a nice reminder that although I enjoy reading yandere stories, they are genuinely unhealthy messed up people I'm low-key romanticizing... so I appreciate the dose of reality author?? Their whole relationship over the years is genuinely tragic and again the way the trauma changes the MC is quite realistic (compared to other MC's who never seem to be traumatized by the way their yandere ML treats them).

As for people wondering if it's HE or BE

in my opinion BE, because they end up together - MC basically ends up with stockholm syndrome to the max which was so sad. While part of me wishes MC was able to move on and get over everything, it makes sense that he was irrevocably changed by what he went through, so much so that he felt like he could only ever be with the ML.

I would also not recommend reading the last chapter if you want a semblance of a HE - I was too curious and now I suffer for it

the literals CHILLS I felt upon realizing that ML was of the same timeline of MC and had never truly changed, just faked it to lull the MC into a relationship and that the poor MC will never truly know he is with the same man who destroyed his sanity
