I dunno, I feel like, romance as a genre is just weird. Because, put this in your perspective; in most cases romance depicted in LNs/WNs/manga/anime happens at the start but it doesnt end nor it progress, so why is that? Because authors, with the paved path of previous METAs that has resurfaced admitted to themselves that "it shall be how it should be" and ultimately, that is why, we still get sub-genres like Love at first sight, or that y'know the list of JP cliches; like you know, typical pure things that you just see, that is portrayed as somehow sacred oblige you do when you're married. So what puts hentai then? Is it the opposite of the romance sub-genre; the antithesis to the proposed META of the romance sub-genre? Then let me articulate, why is there a plot in romance series yet feels like there is none? What is the thing that it lacks? Is it realism? I wouldnt say so, it is benign and discourteous to Japanese culture if we mock the METAs we see now in romance (or predominantly Japanese) anime medium. Although, what romance as a genre lacks is hentai. But wouldnt that be counter-intuitive, since the METAs proposed are outside of hentai? Yes, actually, but why is that? Why is that? Because, as we all know, romance is not a genre, in fact; we've all come to conclusion that IT IS a demographic, which encapsulate all the teens but disregards everything else. And why am I talking about bullshittry? Within the 95% confidential Interval of every romance that has published, and within the absolute certainity of 100% that hentai has every produced, there is something romance lacks that hentai have at its core, and that is realism, but that is understandable, Because, the Light Novel "A Returnee Classmate Number One on the List of People I want to Kill Became My Wife" will be a classic romance, in a sense of tragedic outcome, for what it did that disobeyed the META and paved its own (Which I guess is kinda inaccurate considering that, hentai is just basically the medium we have currently that deconstruct romance as a demographic)

The story is straightforward, well; I guess like all beginning of a story, it is straightforward. Because it ought to be, why do we have to have 10 misunderstanding in the first ch? Very unnecessary, and that is why this LN will forever be doomed, because why would you make a story that is straight to the point but has such depth that, METAfags all-over JP will be like "REEEEEE She didnt slap him when MC accidentally touched her breast NOOOOOOO", the beginning, well when the MC and heroine met is standardized Japanese jeopardy, which is well, understandable, but even though it is the standardized Japanese META of story telling, it is written in such a way with straightforwardness and depth, every ounce of action are unfiltered and unique in a way that it is fluid. We dont have that 20 panels worth of MC being self-depress about why being a NPC MC in HS setting makes him want to die, instead, we get this unique simple monologue, a monologue which what most of us sometimes do, in fact; we DO monologue more than we fap. Which is in a way, it was unique because we could grasp the tone straight away that something is just wrong, more so odd or like this sense of state that the MC are in, is this a good thing? Prolly, because you have to understand, understand and acknowledge that META just works. You have to milk that MC's depression for a little bit more. You have to twinkle it with those other factors like, uhhh prolly another loli in the harem to further impact that monologue of MC's depression? Or prolly when a character that author just left out because there's already TOO much of waifu to fit in one panel to have her own UNIQUE PANEL that makes all those waifufags just c*m all over themselves and circlejerking in 4chan why their waifu is the absolute best. Oh f*cking boi, 4chan is just something else, oh but then again, Twatterfags are just on a different level so I dunno.... just pick which you like.

Romance has or mostly, is like you, a fat weebf*g holding your favourite loli body pillow on**ole trekking to a mountain. It's torturous but full of adventure, melancholic but within the isle of danger, or just simply a fantasy because why would YOU... YES YOU.... A FAT WEEBf*g WANTING TO MOVE YOUR BODY? Arent you preserving your warmth for your so-lonely cumfilled loli waifu on**ole? (Oh, of course you are. Why are you disagreeing with me?), I mean let's face it, it has always been that way, and well I mean, seems like still is a META and for dear f*cking lord Japan please nerf this already. Too cancerous for my me, a merely casualfag, which saddens me, it does because this LN, with its realistic portrayal (or within so) of the feelings within MC and heroine will forever just be lump like it's those another JACK-OFF/FAP MATERIAL, when it is, it should not be viewed that way. I adored the dynamic in which the highest degree of affection between couple are being shown, being delivered, and frankly *ahem* also with illustration. Each intimate scenes, makes the couple close to each other, with each day they spend too, and for me at the very least, that is romance, it's not romance when you just SAW her then said "wow I fell in-love" then proceed to have this 200 ch of f*ckery, it should be apricated, hailed to the highest when a character feels like a real person (I said feels f*cking ret*rds), the actions they do speaks more, just speaks more romance than what is the METAs nowadays. Also, do note that this doesnt include bathroom s*x play which is a bummer but oh well.... it is what it is.

Story should end. But then again, as we all know, that is not necessarily the truth. It ends simply because, it got axed, it wasnt well-received, or simply the author was like "well f*ck this story, I'm done with this", in romance typically couple either are now together or something that put that END on that panel and you're like "f*ck YESSSSSSS" or like "f*ckKKKK I WASTED MY TIME TO READ 400 CHS AND MY WAIFU DIDNT WIN?!"I mean, isnt that why we all read 5-toubon? To see Nino win? I felt like the ending left on such a grand note, in a way that, you feel like there should be more but it ended, but is that a bad thing? Personally, I think the story had packaged enough that the ending is just that final push, that last piece of cake, we all expect it will be that, and it was served to us, Am I disappointed that it's actually not MC and heroine having a wedding ceremony? Yes, I kinda do regret that because I still feel like, well; as a romanticist myself, it should be that path, but the way the LN ended brought more than just wedding ceremony, I think, I cant really explain it, but I feel like the Illustration just pictures it well enough beyond words.
