For me this novel is a solid 3.5 but NU does not allow it so let's give it a 4.

Being 174 chapters long I can totally recommend this novel, it is pretty entertaining, has likeable characters and the story is nice.
I agree with others that the best part of the story is the first half and the ending is somewhat annoying. I won't say it's bad because it really isn't but it may piss you off so for those that feel that a disappointing ending ruins a novel just skip it, it is just 4-6 chapters after the final fight you can totally skip it and imagine your kind of ending what's wrong with that.
The rest of the novel is totally worth it if you have some spare time and are currently not reading anything else.

This Novel isn't really special or has some crazy features to it, but it uses what it has and makes it good like this. Other than many Korean novels it does not rush the end but wraps the things up good but the ending is a bit unsatisfactory but it's still okay

All right first of all don't fall for those low ratings and reviews because most of them didn't even read half the story and don't understand the story.

  1. Now that I've cleared that up let's start with the review. Personally when I started I didn't fell seduced by the first chapter or the premise like other novels but as I went ahead this story slowly morphed into something akin to a masterpiece.
  2. Secondly the unique thing about this story isn't just character are funny but it's quite funny to see translator and author banter (Well it's mostly translator getting frustrated at hard lines to be translated and poking fun)
Although I found the ending a bit not to my liking but it's quite reasonable and something I can live with. (That means... more>> imagining other alternate endings like a fan girl I am.)

It's a very special story that takes place in modern day instead of fantasy world. It might be quite a turn off for fantasy seekers (Like me) but just give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed unless you don't have enough IQ to understand the story. <<less

personally, I also didn't like the ending. but at least it has the advantage of being innovative.

I did not intend to write a review on this novel, but I find it underestimated... and with bad reviews on its end.

I'm starting to read a lot, and now, when I think about it, I tell myself that it was not so bad. sad, a little weird and hard to justify, but innovative!

I liked the novel and espicially the setting, the story in it is good too, but I can't recommend reading the last 2 chapters as it killed the novel for me.

Nevertheless, I love the idea und the writing.

While there are a few lagging phases in the read (binged the entire series) it is a definite "totally worth it" read. Comedic with a clueless MC but serious when necessary though a little op power which makes quite a plot armor at times but the build is good and the ending... a beautiful ending. Definite must read

Oh man this was a really good one. The beginning and middle of this story are fantastic with a real sense of growth without tarrying too long. I will say that around the mid 100's it starts to feel a bit broken in pace and a lot of things get glossed over like the author just wanted to finish the story, but I find the ending is extremely satisfying which I must say is a rarity for me.

Before reading this novel, I checked many reviews and I got very scared about the novel's epilogue, luckly it is much better than what I expected and better than many other things I have read.

The novel itself has many obvious problems, but it is nevertheless engaging.

A mostly enjoyable story to read.

It is not a superb masterpiece for the ages, but at the same time it's not a badly written story, and it continues to progress at a fairly constant pace through the whole thing (which is rare enough to get a few plus for it).

The ending felt a bit rushed but at least there wasn't a point where the author just took out a "bigger bad guy" out of nowhere, so most of it felt mostly connected, clearly showing that the author didn't just randomly... more>> improvise the whole thing.

175 chapters also means that it is short enough to be read over a few days (or a few weeks if you don't read much each day), which is a plus sometimes in between 1k+ chapters that many novels like to show off.

To be completely honest, I jumped into it thinking it would be just one more of those throw away novels that you start reading when you are bored and never finish because you found something else to do mid way, but it ended up keeping me until I reached nearly the end of it so at that point I thought "it's starting to get same-y but it's nearly finished so let's stick to it". <<less

Honestly I loved the beginning and the plot was really interesting, however towards the end the plot became more forced and lost a lot of its original flavor.
Spoiler

Especially since the MC basically had no challenges or goals after becoming super powerful like only halfway through.

The harem seemed pretty forced as well.

Spoiler

The ending was super unsatisfactory and there really was no need for it to end in that way other than trying to be something it’s not? I’m not sure. It didn’t make any sense to me as I was happy with the final fight but the afterwards was just kind and off. I’m not sure.

[collapse]

But I’m rating 4 stars because I loved the original premise and the new type of story. I followed it for a while and appreciate the break from traditional abilities.

So although I just listed all my complaints I would say it’s definitely worth a try, especially the beginning half. Its a pretty short read too so if you want a pretty cool novel with an interesting change in setting you can try it. If you don’t like it drop it but if not it’s not that bad if you ignore above complaints. Definitely an interesting read and I can highly recommend the first half of the book but not the second half.

A good start novel that is easy to read and follow. Series has good parts and bad along the way. But the ending for me is unsatisfactory.

A pretty good novel for it's type. The MC has a decent personality and his growth is interesting to watch. The other characters are also great with nice personalities and abilities. I might have given this 5 stars if it wasn't for the below average ending, rather the ending was total c**p.

I was going to give it 5 star rating until I read the final chapter.. It left an utterly bitter taste in my mouth.. It feels incomplete without a proper end.. In the end what did the MC get for all he had done!!
