Putting aside the fact that everyone is a cannibal, the premise leads one to believe the girl is going to be cursed into becoming a rat, or perhaps reborn as one. That's not what happens. Three women rip all of her hair out like they're pulling weeds, cut up her body and skin her, cut out her tongue, sever her tendons, and attach moleskins directly to her wounds all over her body so they stick and grow into them. In this way, she is made into a giant rat. There's other terrible happenings as well, such as the uselessness of the terrible mu*dering love interest, the killing of a small child unrelated to the crime, and the fact she dies in the end, but I think I've made my point with that alone.
