In Yang-an, the capital of the Sun Dynasty Empire, there are rumors of a Goddess who sings a song that grants your wishes in your dreams if you visit a certain pharmacy. To confirm this, Sa Heonyoung, who disguises his status as a member of the royal family, goes to find the Goddess of the rumors. After listening to her song, he yearns for her, as if he is suffering from an illness….

A man who must kill his own identity under a goblin’s mask; and a woman who has no name or a lover, and lives only for the revenge in her mother’s will. A mournful love story between a man and a woman who are the only ones who can fully understand each other.

This book is great! The author did a good job creating a dark and mysterious setting, with an interesting plot for a smut story. It's written in 3rd person POV, and the novel is from both FL's and ML's perspectives. FL is quite childish but not in an annoying way, and all things considered it's understandable why she is this way, meanwhile ML is a yandere bordering insanity.

I was so shookdt that there's a novel. I knew the webtoon was too well-made. Lol.

I read the webtoon and it was great. But of course, there's more information when you read the novel too.

This is a story about how 2 people came together and healed (?) each other's wounds. It's super angsty but the story is great. The smut is just the icing on the cake but the story is well-written and the characters are well-developed. ❤

Also, I really like the ending. I knew what was gonna happen and the despair is so apparent in the webtoon. Read the webtoon first then this. Huhu. Tysm for this. ❤

It was good in this kind of settings. Im actually reluctant when I saw the tradegy. The first is kinda... Ya know, good thing it was a happy ending.

Great smut, great plot as well.

For a short story, it had a very good atmosphere. The plot and supporting characters were very vivid, and everything was woven together in a natural way. Very immersive and descriptive, and with a bit of horror elements, great tension throughout.

For example the ML's need to have his wife's legas as weak as possible so she would never be able to get away from him.

The entire symbol of the goblin was done so well. And ironic that

the ending scene showed the palace women speaking together along with glimpses of their own "goblin" insides.

This could be called a tragedy because the MC and ML will never be able to get way from the horror of the palace. And the ML could be seen as subtly changing as he put on the mask of his "brother." Very chilling.

But at least MC and ML are together so it's not that type of tragedy.

This is good. If you don't like a yandere ML stay away and if you also don't like the idea of FL relying on ML probably for the most of her life, stay away. He like her like that.

Overall it's a simple story that has a little bit of depth with the characters. FL was abused and doesn't really know anything. In both their cases, it's love at first sight I guess. Very fast paced, the smut are also good. There's some schemes here and there. The disgusting villains got... more>> what's coming to them. I do hope they detailed it tho. They just kind of mentioned it when confronted. <<less

It’s a short novel hence there were some plots or scenes missing but it was great read. There are some dark and angst scenes but worth a read.

I really love this story. I usually wasn't into an angst story but somehow, I came across this in manhua version and then I couldn't stop reading it till the end. Fortunately, although both ML and MC had a tragic life, they both had a happy ending that they deserved.

The emotional output of the story was well done. But at the same time, I felt a lot was missing, especially in the details. Descriptions of scenes, events, and/or characters are lacking. Even the smut is lacking because there are not enough details. Going from Point A to C without much details of B, makes a reader feel a bit unfilled.

As for the scenery, I wasn't sure if the time period was supposed to be European Medieval, or ancient Asian times. There are sliding doors, but not enough details on... more>> what type of clothing is worn except a bath robe or that the ML wears silk.

In addition, the mystery of the FL is never resolved. Where did she learn the songs in some mysterious language she sees. Do they really give the power of granting wishes? Why do people think she is inhuman? Also the illegal drugs she used to use to stall her starvation, why were those herbs illegal?

If her family was torturing and starving the FL, how did they expect to sell her services of singing? It doesn't make sense that she would have the energy to sing hours on end without a tortured and starving body?

The ML works behind the scenes with spies everywhere, yet he didn't know what happened to the FL for many days. There are too many events or scenes that made me feel inexplicable.

If not for watching an old K-drama about how twins were considered bad and normally the second child was killed, I probably wouldn't have understood the main plot of this story.

All that being said, I did like the story and the ML & FL. I just wish there were more details and descriptions given. <<less

This one made me cry a lot and there are depictions of violence/abuse that could be quite disturbing or triggering for some. It gets pretty dang heartwrenching, but no worries. It's a happy ending. If I had to point out one thing that was disappointing it's that the intimate moments are really heavily in the first half, and then kind of stop for plot reasons. It made sense to not have the main couple going at it at that point but there was a very abrupt change in tone and... more>> flow of the story that threw me off and once everything is resolved the story ends pretty quickly.

I really enjoyed this novel but there are very polarizing elements so it's hard to recommend it to everyone. If you like obsessive love stories then definitely give it a try. <<less
