I do not understand the reason behind this one star spam- The rating for this series should not be 3.5 (as it is while I write).
I will admit, this series is not for everyone. The MC isn't overpowered, there is somewhat of a lack of action and though it definitely isn't slow-paced, it isn't actively fast either- a series that takes its time. The dialogue does feel a bit stuck-up and corny sometimes (when they talk abt connections as a motto or superpower, it feels weird, might just be me though), but the characters are great, especially the ones from the harem (they honestly don't even feel like a harem, just a bunch of people, interested in MC), there is nice bouncing dialogue between the characters, the MC is absolutely wonderful and I love seeing him get sh*t done without actually doing it himself, such a unique novel premise. MC feels like a more OP MC than if he was actually overpowered with some god-given cheat cos he actually worked for his strength of connections.
If you like a weak but insanely clever protagonist who uses connections to get work done, read this, if you prefer action, adventure, OP protag, or hate harem- please avoid- and also if you rated this a 1-star... just cmon... whats wrong with you?

I actually read a bit into the manga version of this and... I did not like it, but I gave it another chance. And well... I still did not like it. Though I think it is a tiny bit better than the manga, it isn't enough for 4 stars. The reason why this novel is okay is because it succeeds in being generic. The plot direction was bad, and the characters... are well... typical JPN meta beta characters.

This is the story of a pretty standard fantasy: hero parties, demon kings, adventurer guilds, kings, magic, special weapons, etc. The MC wants to be a hero but is personally weak and untalented at magic and combat. The MC uses the power of "connections" to help others and receive favors, making friends wherever he goes due to his sincerity and assistance.

The mood is fairly light hearted, and gives an optimistic feeling with a key theme being people are stronger together and everyone needs help sometimes. The plot in each of... more>> the first 2 volumes focuses on heroines who are in trouble but are trying to ignore the problem or handle it on their own. Ned won't leave them alone and uses his connections to save them, but more importantly causing a change in their mentality to let them succeed on their own.

It's not a particularly deep story, with the characters (especially the villains) being somewhat one dimensional. But it's a nice read. <<less
