A Game To Make Him Fall

Born to a house where women were only seen as tools to birth children, I was already in my twenties. I was standing on the crossroads of life.

At my fingertips were close to fifty photos of different men. They were the marriage partner candidates my father had prepared.

Those who took the initiative and volunteered because they wanted his company, and those that were recommended to strengthen our ties with other companies. There were various reasons, but I was to marry one, and build up a child.

That was my reason for existence in this house.

I don’t think I can love another.

I wonder how everyone believes in something so shapeless as love. It was only a marvel to me.

That I couldn’t do something any standard person could must be because I was a person who was never properly loved.

I put a break on the countless unanswered questions I held since my birth, and stared down at the photos around me.

That I chose him was truly a coincidence.

This is the another part of the story which was described in 'The Probability I can Kill my Wife Without Being Fount Out' which gives the Wife's POV. This novel is also too short, but it sure was successful in covering for a few things I found lacking in the Husband's POV. It was very refreshing to read.

Although I consider myself pretty good at controlling emotions, like to the previous novel, this one too truly moved me to tears. I could feel the intense feelings of both Husband and Wife... more>> which they had towards each other and it felt like I was truly connected with them.

This novel combined with the previous one is one the best novels I have ever read. Truly a masterpiece. <<less

I read this after reading ML's version (The Probability I Can Kill My Wife Without Being Found Out). I love this version as much as I like ML's version.

The story was practically the same but this time, we see it from FL's POV. Ugh, I really want to hug FL and smack ML for being blind after reading this. I'm glad she could make it in the end though and I hope she will get her happy ending that she deserves.

I can’t belive this actually made me cry. I related to how much Yuri wanted to feel loved, how lonely and neglected she was also the way her family didn’t consider her feelings at all. I thought I was the only pathetic person like that, wanting to be loved but failing miserably. She had a good ending though, I guess that’s how we differ. Damn I didn’t want to make this a monologue, I guess It really impacted me

A beautiful parallel story, with the same amazing focus on detail and emotion. The author has a lot of talent for this format, and the translator is great at pulling it out.

Cried for both parts, definitely read this as the second one to make the incomplete picture whole.

Spoiler

After reading this we can really tell that the guy is an unreliable narrator as he only talked about how he was rude to his wife, etc. After reading this part I can't help but cry a lot!!

Their dynamics actually match each other, thinking about both characters and life experience.

Short and sweet, what are you waiting for? Go read!!

Honestly, this one felt better than its counterpart, "The Probability I Can Kill My Wife Without Being Found Out".

So an evil thought came to my mind. " The probability that I give this a 5 star and the other one a 4 star"!!

Thankfully I avoided this trap and gave the other one a 5 star too. Yeah, both of the stories are amazing.

EDIT: On second thoughts, I think that the story you will read 2nd will feel better due to more character development. You will be able to relate to... more>> both ML and FL instead of just one of them!! I read the first part again after reading this one, and it felt better. <<less

This is nice short read, about the length of a chapter. I read both this and "The probability that I can kill my wife without being found out" which is the same story but told through the perspective of the husband rather than the wife. It is really recommended that both are read since if you only read one, the actions of the characters may seem a bit weird since their motivation are separated between the two stories. You only know what the husband is thinking in "the probability..." while... more>> you only know what the wife is thinking in "A game to make him fall." <<less

There are two parts to this story.

I read the female‘s POV first, then the male‘s and then I was just left in tears. The story itself is written in a very simple way and the translation is really good (cheers to the translator!)

It’s the simplicity of the story and the feelings of the characters which make this one different from others and really good at the same time.

Reading this, immediately after reading the husband's point of view, makes it even sweeter. Simply genius. Both stories were short but full substance.",)

Somebody give me the tissues I forgot to bring. I cried in the middle of the night without noticing it. Great story for a oneshot but not good reading at night. Now my nose is all stuffy... TT_TT

Maaaaan! This made me cry. Like big drops towards the end. You have to read the other oneshot too, with the man's perspective. It was bittersweet.

I loved pace of the story. It never left me hanging.I wished it continued. The story is kind of bittersweet.I wanted to know more about the male protagonist. I genuinely think he will make up for all the lonely years that Yuri went through.

A simple short story about two awkward people who don't know how to love.

I won't tell you any more than that -- I don't want to spoil it.

It's only 1 chapter, so you might as well try it.

I first read the wife's part first then husband's, and it is wonderful. Although short, the story was written well and the translation is smooth. Although I didn't cry, I was moved nonetheless.

A very well written short story. I probably would've cried if this had music and visuals. It was a very enjoyable read and most importantly it had a happy ending (thank f*cking god)

A great short story filled with witty characters and their funny banters and yet somehow brings out the emotional feels? Sign me up! The author did a great job on showing both of the leads point of view and honestly, half of the credit goes to the translators who did such a great job.

Pros:

  1. The female lead, honestly, is a very unique character and somehow at times doesn't even struck as the female lead. She's realistic and doesn't dwell on the unthinkable. And I love her eccentric personality, the way she just honestly went along the lines of "I'm going to make him fall", which albeit is a bit of a common cliché in novels but the author played it fairly well.
  2. The male lead, he's a down-right honest man and I loved how he wasn't keen on making a dillusion of "You can go ahead and try to flirt with me while I won't deny it but will go ahead with you but in the sidelines will always condemn you for forcing me" kind of scenario. He, from the first paragraph, had made it quite clear that he didn't like the female lead and sort of even mildly hated her.
  3. The dynamics was funny and played a great job on accentuating on the leads sort of out of the box personalities.
  4. I love how the love didn't emerge out of nowhere and actually developed through their years with each other.
  5. Loved the last scene! Oh my god, it was such a good scene, it was emotional and I praise myself for not crying, almost lol.
Cons:

  1. I didn't quite like how the one-shot totally focused upon the numbers and I quite don't even understand from where the hell those numbers came from.
  2. I would have loved to have read the afterwards of their story but yeah, it's a one-shot so not much of a con.
Yeah, go ahead... more>> and read it and read the one-shot of the male lead before, and kudos to the translator for giving a heads up in the initial of the one-shot! <<less

I read both the male and female perspectives of this story, and I must say... I cried. The stories kinda starts off with a boring tone but it pulls you in later on. I recommend this.

Great and emotional story.

There were many reviews that said that they cried when reading it. For me, though the story was emotional, sad and a lil angsty, I didn't really cry. But, it did make me sad. Maybe it was because the story wasn't written in-depth so it was slightly lacking in the tear-jerking part. But the story was indeed well written.

Spoiler

The lady started out wanting to play a game, not actually loving that man. But throughout her marriage, she had come to like this kind of life and like that man. Despite trying her best to be a good partner, the man never should any other emotions other than those few times. However, she still continued and finally getting a so-called 'good reaction' from the man which made her really happy.

[collapse]

It is definitely something one can read when they are feeling bored as it is a short read. Around 20mins and you should be able to finish this one shot. <<less

An alternate POV from the wife's perspective. This is meant to be read after the MC's POV. This short series is so touching to read, and it gets the message across very well. 11/10 would recommend
