This is a pretty simple and decent story so far. MC who's an inconspicious kid gets a game interface and then starts his grind to get stronger. Levelling up is pretty slow and linear so no sudden OP powers or annihilating the battles instantly. While levelling he keeps training and learning skills so his strength doesn't feel hollow. No annoying side characters or any love interests so far but he did get a skill related to it so that'll probably change in the future. MC is also a kid and... more>> acts like a kid so it might take a while.

It seems like overarching plot of the story will be about the nobility and their treatment of commoners. As long as author doesn't get too ambitious and derail the story to make it seem more complex this will be pretty fun levelling up adventure. <<less

Although I usually enjoy stories about leveling up, this particular light novel didn't captivate me. The twist where a typical "player" with lit-RPG elements is placed in a pre-gaming, fantasy-medieval world sets a predictable pace for power progression. Despite reading 60 sections, I found the character development, world-building, and plot unengaging. The protagonist, a 15-year-old boy, is reflected in the simplistic writing style. The world appears unsophisticated and naive, with uninspiring dialogue. The descriptions of enemy creatures are minimal and the action sequences lack intensity. In my opinion, this story... more>> would be more enjoyable as a manhwa, utilizing visuals to enhance the experience. <<less

I found this eventually boring and lackluster to read. It was interesting for the first few chapters but after a while it felt like nothing really happens. The story's formula is to have him fight monsters then learn more about the game system with the occasional passing mention of a scheme to get the MC tied to some knight or noble. This was interesting at first but when it's just the same thing getting repeated it gets tiring and boring.

The MC is hell bent on getting rid of all the... more>> monsters because of them killing his family, but I don't particularly care for his motivation. There was no emotional or compelling prologue showing it happening to get you behind this just a passing mention of it. What got me interested in the MC was seeing him struggle, fighting for his life and not being dense to be taken advantage of. But after 25 chapters which simply feels like him getting confused by/learning about a basic/generic game system I don't feel like sticking around and seeing how the MC journey goes.

It also feels like some very essential info is left out. He wants to kill all the monsters but how will he do it? How does the monster horde end since it happens every 10 years? Do they kill a certain boss? Or do they have to just kill every monster that appears? The whole thing feels prolonged and never ending because there's no metric or indication of the progress being made in the war.

So tldr; the novel had me interested at first but it feels like alot of the same thing has happened yet nothing really happens overall. <<less

This novel is decent read so far, not a masterpiece but not too bad. MC is 15 years old boy from small rural village and till 41 chapter he acts exactly like that. So he is somewhat impulsive, hot blooded, naive and a bit dumb.

It seems like he is heading towards becoming total muscle head rather then all rounder or some genius scheming guy, which makes it novel. The concepts of ‘fight smarter not harder’ and ‘knowledge is power’ are unfamiliar to him. Considering his background it makes sense.

But damn does he need those intelligence stats. As of yet he didn’t invest a single point there. There was time when he received sh*t tone of points and he put them all into strength even though previously he kinda promised himself to invest at least some there. I don’t know if he forgot about that or author forgot. It was just said and then disappeared.

I like the fact that author stays consistent with his personality. Sometimes I see novels where MC was a talentless coward, then system happens, and boom he is suddenly confident hotshot and his previous personality disappeared into thin air like it never existed. This is not the case here. The change in him is gradual and comes with experience.

MC isn’t some saint who will answer evil with good, but he is kind and tries to save as many people as possible. In my opinion he really overdoes it sometimes. If you like antihero types, he might not be your cup of tea.

The most interesting part for me is that MC is commoner soldier, the kind who is at the bottom of the bottom, just a meat shield. I have read war novels with MCs from noble families or at least knights who lead others, so his perspective was interesting to read.

I honestly expected him to be mere soldier just for a bit and then become apprentice of some master or do secret small operations by himself, find treasures and stuff like that. But no, he is on the battlefield. There are troupes, cavalry, army, soldiers, archers - medieval war stuff. And it stays like that.

I probably read too much dungeon hunter novels))) <<less

I have read this upto v1c12. And have to say this one of the best medieval age level system. The characters are great. The translation guys are doing a good job. There some minor writting in begainging. The chapter are uploading regularly. MC is not a simp like tipical japani isekai novel If you want to read something new, I recomend this novel.

So far it’s pretty decent. It’s a good player system in a medieval world where they need to fight monster waves every 10 years. The characters seem fine so far and the development of the MC is progressive and rightly paced. World-building and further plot is still open but it’s also still fairly early into the story.

However, I would say this is one of the better, decent reads when it comes to monster hunting stories with a system and skills. The medieval setting and the way it’s executed makes it... more>> kind of refreshing. <<less
