Chen Xiao was a Feng Shui master before his death. He changed his fate to save his master, but died of old age.

When he opened his eyes, he came to a world of immortal cultivation where there were many people who built foundations and golden elixirs everywhere.

Chen Xiao, who had no spiritual roots and no talent, felt that he had no fate with immortal cultivation. In order to survive, he had to go back to his old job in this world of immortal cultivation without Feng Shui masters.

Chen Xiao: “Find the meridians and acupoints, turn evil spirits into prosperity, and promote officialdom and honor. It can help your sect prosper, turn decline into prosperity, get married early, and have children. Immortal masters, don’t you want to have a shot?”

It is a new take on cultivation novels. Usually, they focus on spiritual roots but here the MC does not have one. The romance is a bit slow but the protagonists' relationship and interactions are very affectionate and warm.

I just want to ask the author, what happened to Xiaoba?

A pretty unique take on Xianxia/cultivation novel where the protagonist uses Feng Shui as a way to cultivate immortality because he didn't have any spiritual roots to begin with.

Pros

1. MC is ambitious and quite clever. The way he used Feng Shui to cultivate are pretty interesting to read and make sense in the novel.

... more>> 2. The ML and MC gets together pretty early, and they are quite a lovey-dovey couple with a strong physical relationship. No s*upid drama on their romance and they communicate with each other pretty often.

3. The first part of the story was about various 'cases' MC stumble upon that he solved with Feng Shui, but there are an overarching plot in the second half that was concluded well enough, ending with no missed plot thread unsolved.

4. The few recurring side characters aren't bad and quite memorable either, you have a mechanical master, a dwarf (?) lady, a Buddhist monk, a beast master, ML's senior brothers, etc.

Cons

1. Imho, the antagonists and their end are quite lame. They only begin appearing in the second half of the story and the ending is written quite hastily so it felt a bit unsatisfying.

2. The Feng Shui stuff gets sidelined in the second half of the novel, as the focus shifted and the novel is more action-focused. It's not bad, but I would like more Feng Shui instead.

Overall, a pretty good long read. 3/5 stars. <<less
