The story's quality honestly might have very been lost in translation, but regardless, I like this novel because of the modern dungeon real world sub genre. If not then I would've dropped by now. It is possible that it is just a rookie writer... as after all, look at the title... It's pretty much an isekai title. So it is possible the author was just inspired by the bad meta of JPN translated fantasy stories.

Edit (2/23) : I read up to the point I did before, and I have noticed... more>> the translation was significantly better though a few minor mistakes can still be spotted. However, the story still remains of the same quality, and as I am less fan boy into this niche genre now, I decided to drop this. <<less

Lazy doesn't always mean bad

I swear the author just took entire chunks of other novels and pasted them together. Nothing is inspired or original. However the novel is still decently entertaining at times and doesn't possess any glaring issues. Something to read if you're out of dungeon novels and want more without caring about quality.

so far it's OK, but the writing is kind of redundant at times. The author will explain things and then turn around right after and explain it again in the "the water was wet/ he was wet because of the water, " kind of way, only not as short. Hopefully he grows out of that.

also, it's Korean and so expect that there will be a nine out of ten chance that the MC is some sort of necromancer.

edit: yup, another necro variation.

Honestly the story is a 3 stars at best but the translation is bringing it down to zero stars. The quality of translation is making me think that it's a machine translation. For example :

Sung-hyung's activities that destroyed all the guild members of Cheongseong who were in the barrier

He thought it was simply because of the bad relationship, but it turned out that it was not because of the previous grudge, but because it was to save the citizens.

I mean wtf is that????

The translation us a 3 star at most

But the MC are not to my appetite

... more>> Try to correct the world or the country or whatever it is will only bring calamity in the end

Law of the jungle is absolute and human civilization were tool used by human to mitigate the law of the jungle because human has heart and feel sad of the loss

Thats why absolute equality will never work because to create absolute equality mean to fight head on againist the law of the jungle wich is absolute that mean you need infinite resource to do that something wich doesnt exist <<less

My first impression is that it's average in both characters and worldbuilding. The characters are the same as every other cliche in their role from the MC having a hard-on for revenge to even having one of the biggest guild named Cheongseong. I just hope this novel doesn't have racism later on down the line when the MC starts making moves on the world stage like many others suffer from.

I really enjoy the story, but the translation on Karnevale is equivalent to reading machine-translations (constant gender confusion, inconsistent name translations, tense & POV issues, absurd mistranslations like tinnitus for title) and many (most) chapters and passages do not look like they've been looked over or edited after passing through the machine. There was even a chapter posted out-of-order (89-92 or so, spoiled outcome of a dungeon event) with the subsequent chapters not being posted for multiple days afterwards. I don't know how you post something like that and not... more>> fix it unless you're not reading the chapters at all. Lastly, make sure to read the simplified text version of the webpage or with an ad blocker because the site is lousy with redirecting ads that wont let you escape. <<less

Even though the last 50 chapters are a little more boring than others, it is a book worth reading. I really enjoyed reading it and think it's worth giving it a try. Frankly, I liked MC's way of doing things. He's not a good angel and doesn't help everyone he comes across, but he still has basic human instincts (he values ​​civilian’s lives and doesn't randomly kill them just because they're his enemy's subordinates). However, he's not one of those fools who just spares his enemies. If that person is... more>> his enemy, he ensures that his end is death. He doesn't have to fight the same enemy over and over again because foolish second chances backfired. These are what make this book valuable to me. Like I said, it definitely deserves a chance.

Just so you know, there is no romance in it. There was a little romance even at the end of the solo leveling, so I had hopes for this series top, but unfortunately they were all in vain.

Footnote: Since MC is a necromancer, at first you may think this is a cheap imitation of Solo (That's what I did aldı). But believe me, their powers are not the same at all. At first, the differences are small and not very obvious, but as the series progresses, you realize that his powers are really very different. There are tons of series starring wizards or swordsmen, and this is no problem for anyone. I think we should break our prejudices and accept that not every series with a necromancer MC is a solo’s imitation.
