My childhood friend started to dislike me, calling me a clingy, self-conscious stutterer.

After I repeated a year and got into his school, he was annoyed and made every effort to distance himself from me.

But he didn’t know that I wasn’t there for him.

Later, I overcame my stutter and, during the freshman representative speech, I sincerely expressed my gratitude to the person I was most thankful for — my brother.

My childhood friend stood up in a daze.

But he was held down by another person.

His roommate laughed arrogantly and carelessly.

“Bro, step aside, you’re blocking my little sister from giving me flowers.”

Everything is so sweet and real! The angst and how someone finally has the confidence to accept love is so... 😭😭😭 I love this so much.

The antagonists did not do much but that's what makes it so real! I was very vexxed!

ML and FL are sooooo~ sweet!

That lil "Yay" at the end of Part 10 is my EVERYTHING. THE FLUFF, THE SUGAR!! I feel like I'm surrounded by cotton candy and being melted in a cup of hot chocolate!

Another golden short story, Crimson! Good translation, good characters, good plot!

It's a come-to short story of the FL. She learns that you can treat gross people accordingly, and we love that in this household. ML's a cute unruly kid that's quick to blush. Absolute adorbs.

This is a sweet story. I love how the couple supports each other and how the FL learns to become confident in herself. I completely understand the fl's desire to be with someone who encourages her to improve rather than accept things that others make fun of her for, and I understand why she's attracted to someone who doesn't care what others think.

After all, the thing I hated most growing up was how my parents would always ask "what are others doing?". As someone who didn't really like following the... more>> crowd, it was annoying that my parents kept trying so hard to fit in. On one hand, they were immigrants trying to assimilate, so looking at what others do really is the only way to figure out the new norms. But on the other hand, I wish they trusted themselves more. They were like the second lead, thrown into a new society that looked down on them and their "backwards" habits. I understand now the reason they acted the way they did, the huge cultural shift they had to navigate, and how little being brave would bring them compared with being humble. Perhaps this is why I actually sympathize deeply with the second male lead and what he went through. I think it's reprehensible that his own uncertainties made him hurt his childhood friend, but at least he realized his mistake. I don't think someone who recognizes and tries to make up and fix his mistakes deserves to be despised. The way the FL relished being able to faceslap him honestly made me more sad than satisfied, and I usually love a good faceslap. But I have something against kicking a dog when they're down, especially if they're willing to change. And it's not like she needs to step on him just because she appreciated the ML more. You can have both a boyfriend and a childhood boy friend. Why does the latter have to be ridiculed just because they're not boyfriend material?

Otherwise, I was very impressed with the emotions the author imbued in the story. It was refreshing and the love is so sweet, even if all the characters showed a remarkable lack of empathy towards others. But isn't that so representative of the society today? <<less

Cute story. I liked MC's, Yu Luo Lu, self confidence and unwillingness to let her stutter define her. She's smart, values herself, and pursues her wants. This want includes ML.

ML, Bu Chong Yuan, was MC's desk mate in high school. MC was injured and was held back a year before entering college. MC chose the university that ML attended so she could pursue him.

MC had a childhood friend who also attended the same university. He thought MC was in love with him and treated her badly. This led to an embarrassment when he found out the truth.

ML is a good guy. He defended MC and believed in her. Their affection was mutual.

Despite being short story, this have substance and heartwarming with fluff.

Many bullied and looked down on FL (Yu Luo Luo) bc of her background and stuttering... but she's mentally strong and confident with ML's support leaving good mark on her self-esteem. The narration between their past was short and painful, but can feel positive effect of being with each other's life.

The side characters were laughable... they overthink too much but ML and FL really unbothered and didn't think about them.

Super cute! FL and ML are both really likeable characters. Not too much depth (given that it's an 11-chapter story), but still a good enough story to have spent time reading.

It was really good and satisfying!

I feel a little bit sad about what happened to He Hao because I can understand his pain and why he changed. I feel like if given more time, he will changed again for the better.

But, in the end, its not FL's responsibility to help him. In addition, whatever affection she had for him probably got too worn down by his actions and words... And once it get to that point, it would be hard to repair. As the title goes, "A Broken Mirror Never... more>> Mends."

This is also a really good lesson for He Hao. Now, he got to know that he has no right to judge and segregate who are and who are not worthy to socialize with him and that he doesn't have to try so hard to fit in with the crowd.

In the end, we just need to choose who are the ones important to us and do our best to treat them the way they deserve. <<less

I love MC. Although she stuttered a bit, she wasn't spineless and could stand up for herself. I'm glad that he found ML, someone who could appreciate her and love her for the way she was.

The old He Hao was actually quite good but like MC said, people changed. The current He Hao wasn't like what he used to be and they couldn't go back to be like that time again. In the end, his pride worthed more than MC.

A beautiful story about the folly of youth and the maturity one can achieve if you have a strong heart. Both FL and ML had flaws but were able to love each other and themselves because of their association.
