This is great. The characters make sense and the reason for the harem makes sense, too. The heroines also retain some personality.

The parts that I don't like are forced by circumstance, which itself is a plus to me. One part that "I don't like, " is that the MC is so ruthless that he'll slaughter people like eating breakfast. That said, it is the apocalypse. Pragmatically, being willing to use lethal force is a prerequisite for survival. And the MC can anyhow ... more>>

Likewise, the harem situation is forced by the premise of "unlocking an infinite resource per accepted heroine, " so the MC isn't necessarily a cheating horn dog but has a reason for his behavior. The premise also promotes a type of social stability that can drive the plot forward. I will say, the "unrealistic" part of gaining "favorability" is jarring, but it does make some sense that you'd be thankful for food and water after starving and nearly dieing of thirst. And it's not like there's a numerical goal to gaining favorability— the system doesn't force him to simp for favorability.

Additionally, when I was getting a bit tired of the formula, the author properly introduced new elements that shook up the story and encouraged the protagonist.

At first, I was shaken up by the translator's content warning in the first chapter, but that warning's subtext is that in an apocalypse, lawlessness is the norm. So, we can't expect the MC to be squeaky clean, as it would be detrimental to his survival.

I strongly recommend this work of fiction... I didn't use MTL to read to c255, I ended up paying to unlock chapters, because the work is addictive to read. <<less
