The love that MC and ML think they share is just their physical relationship. In their married life, they see the days they have s*x as the times their relationship as a couple is in order, and the days they don’t as the times they drift apart—or rather, return to their old selves.

The reason I say the whole story is meaningless from the start is that neither of them makes any progress. In the years before their marriage, they sleep together, and the next day, despite being madly in love with each other, they refuse to show any emotion or anything else and act like nothing happened. Later, they get married, have a lovely honeymoon phase, and then go back to acting like nothing happened. In their married life, they occasionally have s*x and, without exception, return to behaving like sworn enemies afterward. And throughout these nearly 10 years, they never, ever talk to each other, care about each other’s emotions or thoughts, or even ask. They don’t discuss family situations, past experiences, lives, goals, or dreams. Neither of them puts in any effort to understand the other. The relationship dynamic described in the novel is utterly meaningless. Their actions, behaviors, and everything they do have no importance, no meaning. And as you read, you constantly think: everything they’re going through is for nothing. Like leaves blown in the wind, they scatter and drift aimlessly.

Both of them are ready to sacrifice so much for each other and do so, but they are unaware of the other’s sacrifices. They run toward each other, but the distance never shortens. Their relationship has no purpose. There is always a sacrifice followed by emotional emptiness and detachment. Even the sacrifices feel meaningless because of this. After nearly 10 years, not a single thing changes. Even a stone would have cracked by now.

They are insignificant to each other. They have created a world in their imaginations and live there. That’s why they are indifferent to everything in the real world. After all these years, not a single word, not a single glance... nothing. They think they are madly in love, yet they never consider each other’s pain. They are indifferent to each other’s thoughts and emotions. They keep trying to get closer, but their solution is to have s*x one night and then act like nothing happened the next day. Even after six years, they don’t know a single thought the other has. They don’t know what the other has gone through. They don’t know what matters to their partner. Because of this, they behave selfishly and easily overlook important things.

To be honest, if I had raised some kind of weird monsters in my house for six years, I would have understood their general character, feelings, or needs. How MC and ML, being so in love and supposedly caring for each other, failed to do this, I cannot comprehend. Maybe they didn’t want to. Both of them wanted to believe in themselves first and chose to be selfish.

This is a happy ending, but it’s not a fair one—for the MC and the ML. The ML never cared about the MC’s feelings and always pushed them aside. The ML caused the death of the MC’s grandfather—the person who raised him—by accusing the MC of betrayal in front of his eyes. This is an unforgivable crime. The ML’s intentions don’t matter; the act itself is unacceptable. I won’t even get into the situation with the MC’s brother because that was a lot to say, but to me, lying and betrayal to MC was worse. They didn’t just deceive the MC; they crushed his entire life.

When the MC was in the hospital afterward, the ML wasn’t there. The MC recovered from his illness alone. Just like when he was a child, he was alone. The ML was never there for him, in good times or bad. No matter what the MC went through, he always stood up on his own and solved his problems alone, even when he needed the ML. This isn’t fair. The relationship dynamic isn’t fair. After everything that’s happened, I don’t know if they can still think about each other without thinking their sacrifices.

[/spoilerThis story is so good that it showcase MC indecisive and decisive personality and choices. It's not just ur typical Over powerful, supersmart MC, he has flaw and reasonably he would cuz I would too if I were him. Not every MC in the story gotta be baddass. The story explore how vulnerable of a person could be and psychology of being in such family and surrounded manipulative people and environment can make a person feel and tend to act. MC and ML both had shortcomings as human we are not perfect, I really admire how author can really write complex not too much ur most typical Cinderella type of plot. They both saved and light up each other world and their journey ain't smooth. Exploring how some tend to feel wrong in society and down upon not being disqualified. It's like MC feel being beta nearly same as being gay make him feeling disqualified to be ML partner. And ML doesn't care he is attracted to MC as a person and their love life was suffering but u kind feel worth it. Imperfect yet they cope and improvise.

I think as fair I can say this story deserves good rating. Won't spoil much.

And MC somehow is strong, he love and hate his brother but he retained his good inside, he love ML and obsessed but he is still pure and care and concerned not harming ML in action sort of way. So he is my precious baby.
