After having read the few translated chapters of the light novel, I was stoked to stumble across someone translating the web novel, but I was honestly disappointed.

After a gripping and possibly almost tumultuous first arc, most of which was already in the LN translation as I recall, there are basically 20 "chapters" that are either irrelevant side stories or literally worldbuilding background information with the differences between the real history and the fictional one, and a mention of all the different works from which elements were used almost fully or... more>> inspired.

Some of that can be interesting, but this is simply too much. Unless you have extensive knowledge of various anime, manga, novels, and games, the recognition value of all that supplementary information is lost. Most of this background information has little to no influence on the plot.

And then there's the whole passage about the MC's friend with little presence having originally been intended to be created as an artificial god, which is technically feasible because the story is reality within fiction within fiction, but frankly absurd and unnecessary.

The final few translated chapters seem to be picking up the pace again for the second arc, but for the impatient types of readers I can recommend skipping all the way from 30 to 50 (not necessarily the exact chapter where things start happening again, but the transition from side stories to main plot is soft, not hard). <<less
