I know many people say that there are no good novels on this site, and it oftens feels like the top lists are filled with overpowered MC's, undeveloped harems, 2D characters, and lacking plots.

There are some novels that stand out, however, whether that be for their plots, characters, or translations.

Often I ended up watching the drama before reading the books, which in some cases is good, some other times is actually bad as the story is more fleshed out in the drama itself.

I’m not going to give a review of the novel and/or drama it’s been adapted to, but I’m going to give a score based on how similar is the drama to the novel (and viceversa) based on what I’ve read.
⭐️ = significant changes to the story and the characters  ⭐️⭐️ = some changes to the some events in the story and the characters but main story plot is maintained ⭐️⭐️⭐️ = both the story and the characters remain true to the novel

I managed to complete all the novels listed here, so to me it's not draggy and romance/plot is very interesting.

Decent novels that are a bit realistic. They seem more down to earth and portray what it was like in ancient times. A nice writing style makes all the difference.... more>>
