Rise of Humanity

The translator said it gets better around chapter 50. Well I read to 100 and it didn’t. It’s remarkable how slow paced and cliche it is. I’d estimate that 40 chapters were spent describing fights, 40 describing abilities he learns, and only 20 furthering the plot. At this rate, the humans won’t start rising until chapter 3000.

Infinite Competitive Dungeon Society

This series is rather boring. The hero levels up and solves problems without any trouble. Except for the very beginning, there’s no situation where he’s in any danger. Supposedly he is all the time but, maybe it’s the casual tone or quick resolutions, it never seem like it.

The World Turned into a Game After I Woke up

The plot and premise are great, but the execution is horrible. The main character got lvl 600 stats at the beginning and couldn’t even one shot the low tier mobs. The author must be trying to pad the word count because stats are in the hundreds of thousands and fights with beginner mobs take 10 chapters. Even the most basic dungeon is portrayed as the overpowered hero barely winning. Honestly I feel myself getting a headache seeing such ridiculous numbers.

Zombie Sister Strategy

This is a rather mediocre story. The plot isn’t going anywhere. You would think being turned into a zombie in the apocalypse would force hard decisions, but, nope, the main character is just a nice girl that doesn’t struggle at all. The characters are one-dimensional (either perfectly good or perfectly evil). Entire chapters are nothing but trash talk. Overall, very slow and boring.

The story is very novel but there’s just way too much filler. It’s great at the beginning. But soon it becomes like 60% trash talk. After each exam, there’s 5-10 chapters of nothing but people commenting on how the hero will fail when we KNOW from his background that he got first. It’s the same for every fight and competition. It’s so boring once the exam starts.

Only read this if you're a masochist. I like the storyline but the chapters are far too frustrating to read. It's like 70% filler. Entire chapters are devoted to pep talks before a fight. Every small tremble or thought is described in excruciating detail. Unrealistically, twenty thoughts go through the character's mind in the second it takes for a punch. There are useless and meaningless flashbacks everywhere. And everybody goes to extremes to hide the main mysteries. I ended up skimming most of the chapters and still had trouble weeding... more>> out all of the useless filler. It's like the author buried a great story under a pile of garbage. <<less

This reminds me of those sports animes. Outrageous events happen, characters do superhuman moves, but, at the end of the day, it’s just a sport. I can’t find myself caring about yhe events or people because nothing they do really affects the world.

This is a pretty cliche martial arts fantasy story. Everyone is arrogant and willing to kill if you look at them funny. The main character runs around without any real plans but still crushes all enemies because he's luck incarnate. Every problem is solved when he gets a cheat item, secret technique, etc. Very unrealistic and boring.

This novel starts out strong but quickly becomes repetitive. The premise and events of the first 2 arcs are very creative and entertaining. However the main character never develops. He's teleported to a world where he constantly fights for survival but doesn't question it or try to understand what's happening. He spends time relaxing and treating real death like a game. The scenarios are also become repetitive where pointless gay comedy romance banter fills 80% of the chapter. It's the worst type of filler because the people disappear after each... more>> scenario so there is absolutely no value to their comedic conversations. <<less

The Black Card

This novel is a huge missed opportunity. The premise and start are amazing but the characters are too childish and everything falls apart fast. I really liked the premise, that was basically an opportunity where you risk your life, but the main character is too passive to take advantage of it. The author keeps saying how smart the main character is trying to figure out the rules but he doesn't really plan anything beyond "what to buy next week."

He treats rich people as gods and doesn't try to learn from... more>> them at all. He gets led around by a s*xy women, does everything she wants for no reason, and the narrator tries to aassert that he's immune to her charm. I doubt he'd follow an ugly fat homeless guy around, so it's pretty obvious that he's not immune or that smart.

Overall, every event feels forced and the characters actions are too boring. It's irritating seeing the main character make so little progress and waste so much time with the insane opportunity he's given. <<less

This is the dragonball z of novels. Expect 5 chapters of trash talk for every chapter of fighting. The plot is fueled by a parade of arrogant enemies that gets cut down easily. Simplistic and utterly boring.

Surviving a Harsh Fantasy with Cheat Items

Status: c18
This is the typical non-realistic Japanese kid's story that I see a lot. Guy goes to a completely different world and becomes super successful without really having to (or even wanting to) do anything. It's a super relaxed atmosphere because the hero never wants anything except to live a peaceful life. He's surrounded by gorgeous women and he tries to stay celibate. He waits for enemies to attack him, never tries to exploit opportunities himself, and just does whatever. Kind of a 'slice of life' story with a fantasy setting.... more>> Extremely boring. <<less

The premise is good but the story is rather boring. The main character just continuously gets some lucky item or event to help him through every challenge. He never has to really struggle. Most of his ideas are just obvious.

Monster Paradise

This story starts out good but gets boring fast. It’s too peaceful and the story is filled with pointless adventures. There’s no villains or goal. It’s not so much a “hero’s quest” story as it is a “slice of life” one set in a world with monsters. Everything is just too casual and meaningless.

Lord of the Mysteries

This is one of the most slow-paced and boring novels I've read. The atmosphere is casual and entire chapters are spent on trivial things like looking for an apartment. The main character doesn't seem to be in any danger and it's like he's taking a stroll in the park.

The Death Mage Who Doesn’t Want a Fourth Time
January 31, 2019
Status: c10
This novel is too unrealistic. Horrific events happen to the main character but they don't seem to affect him in any lasting way. He's still a pacifist who refuses to harm all but the most evil people. A town tortured and burned his mother and all he does is take away their walls without hurting anyone. It's ridiculous to read about or look up to such a "hero". In reality, no one who has lived his life would be so kind and such a kind person could be easily killed... more>> no matter how strong he is. <<less

Soul of Searing Steel

The storytelling style is very annoying. Usually, in these “redo” stories, the future is told to us and the overall goal is clear. However that’s not the case here. The main character seems to wander around aimlessly. The fights are boring because he’s far too powerful. It feels like I’m watching a guy stepping on ants for no reason.

The plot is interesting but the pacing is absurdly slow. Each chapter is a day in his life and nothing significant happens in most of them. I’m skipping 1/2 of every chapter and can still follow just fine.

Shadow Hack

This is just a cookie cutter cultivation story where the cheat item is a shadow training system. Enemies are still arrogant for no reason. The hero still grows strong with no real goal. Each chapter is still filled with trash talk, hero praising, and pointless fights. Nothing about the character stands out.

My MCV and Doomsday

This is your typical cookie cutter apocalypse story where everyone behaves like retards. All enemies are arrogant and pick fights in a world where literally anyone can kill you through skills or guns. I mean, seriously, I’m suppose to believe an enemy would think a bus that drove hundreds of miles across zombie infested land is an easy target? And if everyone carries guns, how long would you live acting snobby and pissing people off? Even if you have an army backing you, the guy in front of you could... more>> still take you down with him.

Everything is so forced. It’s just an endless parade of retarded enemies bad mouthing the main character and getting crushed. Don’t read this if you want anything remotely close to rational behavior. <<less
