The author is just not good. None of his characters feel like real people more like puppets. The world is not explained at all in 50 chapters so no world building either.

The main character is like a machine working on a list of things to do, he barely talks and interacts with anyone so no character building either some of the side characters are way more interesting in 10 lines of description that the main character in 50 chapters.

The author seemingly has no respect for his readers as ... more>>

he kills and resurrects a major/minor villain in an easy way utterly anticlimactic and idiotic

if he's going to write sh*t like that what's the point even reading the story? <<less

Another novel that you can tell that the author is a shut-in with little experience in real life situations and with absolutely no knowledge of the opposite gender.

The more you read the more it becomes apparent that the so called author has no idea how to write and the jokes that made the novel somewhat interesting to read are nowhere to be found.

For example the main character spends 260 chapters hiding his true abilities even from his family only to show them in an extravagant fashion to 3 girls 2... more>> of those may be his enemies. <<less

I am the Monarch

A web novel that deals with war and politics this is gonna be good right? No it's a complete disaster from the world to the characters to the fights everything is terrible.

As I was reading the fights read like one one battles and everyone was chopping of heads only before every fight arrows would fly and the cavalry would charge. Someone compared with the manga kingdom, that's a huge insult to the manga that depicts the realities of war such as rape, prisoners and refuges supply and support of an... more>> army to this travesty of a web novel.

Another novel that reminds me that web novels can't get taken seriously even compared with manga, never mind books.

I recommend everyone that wants to read a fantasy book about an army and war to read Glen Cooks The Black Company. <<less

The Desolate Era

Best IET novel I've read but that does not say much as IET is a bad author, in true IET fashion the starting books are good and as the MC grows in power he loses his character and the plot is centered no, the plot IS revenge nothing deeper nothing better just edgy teen stuff.

The battles are quite boring and the powers not described correctly and seem kind of stupid, the world building makes little sense all in all only saving grace is the starting books that are quite good... more>> and none of these negatives are there strangely. <<less

Main Character Hides His Strength

The best Korean web novel I've read till now.

This web novel suffers from a nonsensical plot, a common flaw in web novels mostly Korean and Japanese that deal with Demon kings and absolutes of good and evil. Main Character Hides His Strength makes up for this with excellent fight scenes and good interactions between the two dimensional (a compliment for a web novel) characters.

The Tutorial Is Too Hard

The whole story of the novel would be a better novels prologue, it isn't bad but when the whole premise is so flawed it's better to just wait for the author to release a second book with the actual story.

tl;dr : It's like reading Lord of the Rings but the hobbits would never leave the shire. The adventure will never begin.

p.s : Korea is the strongestestest nation, Koreans are talented^9 af and a Korean created the human race. /S

Very good segments mix terrible economic segments in the story. It's a mix up between an action martial story and an economic story book for children under the age of 8.

If you remove the bad segments add some action remove half the pointless tournaments it's a 5 star story otherwise 2 stars is too generous for this Frankenstein monster of a story.

True Martial World

The first 350 chapters are fine formulaic xianxia with nothing too bad or good, from chapter 350 onward the pace slows down to a crawl.

I would say the first chapter has more things going than 100+ chapters and that's a huge problem.

Later in the novel a side job for the main character to get some money turns into an arc... it's quite ridiculous.

Tl;dr : Good formulaic xianxia terrible pacing and too much padding stop it from achieving mediocrity.

Seoul Station’s Necromancer

It is somewhat interesting to see a necromancer because no fiction novels I know deal with main characters with magic/sorcery well not even top sellers. So far the novel is kinda bad with dungeons that monsters only spawn there, guilds and bureaucracy. Also the magic is not really explained and is badly constructed, he can summon human skeleton mages from bunny corpses for example.

The novel feels like a diablo fanfic that the author has not planned at all and just writes for money.

Castle of Black Iron

If you ever wondered what kind of novel written by a perverted racist Chinese would look like, look no further just read Castle of Black Iron.

All the males are potential rapists including the MC and all the females are objects to be used and abused.

A warning to the readers masturbation is a prominent focus of this story as is racism.

P.s: Also the oldest abacus discovered is Sumerian in origin.

The Strongest Gene

Review as of chapter 90.

Run of the mill Xuanhuan with some interesting twists in the beginning chapters but loses that uniqueness in the later chapters with all the common mistakes that most webnovels fall into such as, mediocre boring uninteresting MC, extremely quick breakthroughs and a very boring cultivation system that has almost nothing to do with genes and you could remove them entirely with anything else such as cultivation technics, spirit stones, etc.

And the most heinous mistake an author can make, conveniently forgetting cultivation and attacking abilities.

For the moment... more>> I give this webnovel the benefit of the doubt and rate it 3 stars but if this downward trend continues it's one star and dropped.

EDIT: Update chapter 150

Minus 2 star and dropped, 60 chapters of the most terrible and pointless tournament in existance was excruciating to read. <<less

Lord Xue Ying
June 3, 2018
Status: c500
The novel is not half bad but it has by far the worst main character IET has ever written with a b***h like attitude sucking up to the powerful and disdaining those beneath him. Willing to lose no face even when he is clearly in the wrong willing for innocents to die than to hurt his pride. The moment he gets some backing he instantly transforms to b***h Xue Ying.

All in all you if you can stand b***h like Xue Ying the novel is above average.

A very nice scifi xianxia blend I would not recommend it to everyone though as there is a lot of racism, Chinese supremacy and eugenics propaganda you have to ignore to enjoy the novel.

Emperor’s Domination

The story is somewhat slow with the 160 chapters feeling like a prologue. The main character is a know it all existence with the only negative that he is humorless and bland not a character to write a novel about. The translation seems fine.

The story has the worst pacing I have ever seen with no character and story development in 160 chapters we don't even know yet the main characters motives and thoughts. The chapters pacing also sucks with chapters ending and starting randomly as an example chapter 161 ended... more>> mid conversation.

I rate it 3 stars despite the novel's huge flaws as the novel is highly entertaining. <<less

City of Sin

The first volume is 5 star content right there, if I were to read only book one (the first 117 chapters) I would rate this novel five stars, no doubt about it.

The problem is the second book, that has double the chapters and is all filler with almost zero character development and completely zero plot development it was like the author said **** it I am out of here let the interns write the rest.

I am confused why the translator even bothered translating it, nothing really happened just some inconsequential... more>> power ups, he could just summarize the whole book in a paragraph and move on with book 3 there is no plot development what so ever.

All in all this is a 5 star novel when there is actually a plot and a zero star trash at other times there is no middle ground. <<less
